Yeah, I remember reading through the old Jack thread, during the time when Mondo was actively posting her writings. I seem to recall there being quite a bit of praise for them - rightly deserved, of course - but perhaps it happened more in the thread itself and less in the blog posts' comments sections.

I've said before that I've read a few of her things - and I don't usually make a habit of reading fan fiction - but it seems to me that she does a stellar job of reproducing Jack's voice. The cadence, the way she expresses herself...I honestly can almost hear Courtenay Taylor saying her dialogue out loud as I read it in my mind. It's quite extraordinary, really. And I have a terribly difficult time conceiving of the amount of insight that would be required to be able to reproduce the voice of character like Jack so faithfully.

Sundown Native's the other writer I've seen who has Jack's character down pat, going by the flash fictions I've seen of him in this thread. I've read a little bit of Jack fan fiction elsewhere, when I happened to stumble upon it and curiosity (sadly) got the best of me, so my vantage point is admittedly limited. That said, it seems to me like it's a bit rare to see a fan fiction writer who gets her quite right (sometimes, well...they don't seem to get her at all, frankly).

Jack then tried to get up but quickly collapsed to the ground, clutching at her left leg.

Prangley and Rodriguez rushed to her aid.

"Ma'am!"

"Ahh, dammit. 'Think, that damn husk might've broken- ah!"

"We're all out of medi-gel," said Rodriguez glumly.

Just then, a Brute came broke through a brick wall to the side of them, taking out almost half a dozen soldiers. With that, the Hammer forces in this location were almost completely wiped out, there were only six more left including the three of them.

"Rodriguez! Get her somewhere safe," yelled Prangley, "I'll keep that Brute distracted."

Before Jack could say anything, Rodriguez grabbed Jack's arm and put it around her neck, helping Jack hobble off.

"Prangley!"

"I'll be fine ma'am, get somewhere safe!"

Rodriguez walked Jack over to the back alley where they had come from and sat her down next to a toppled phone-booth. Nowhere was safe, but with luck, Jack would be remain hidden, or mistaken for dead.

"I'm going back and getting Prangley, then we'll be back for you with medi-gel."

"No, leave me! Find him and get your asses back to the buildings, I want you two safe."

"I'm not leaving you here to die, ma'am."

"Dammit Rodriguez, do what I say!"

"I'm sorry ma'am. I can't leave you here like this. And I won't." With that, Rodriguez took off the other way.

Jack was devastated watching her go. She didn't care if she lived or died now, she stopped caring about that a while ago, but she couldn't take the thought of surviving all her kids. She loved them to death; it was hard enough to witness some of them get killed. But she vowed to die before they took away the last two from her. Now, they were out risking their lives for her. Frustrated, tears were running down her cheeks. She hated this. She hated it so much.

Sitting, injured and helpless, was excruciating – mentally more than physically. And after only a few minutes, she felt something from the side coming her way now. Brute. The fact she could feel the footsteps was a giveaway. She had stopped sobbing now, and just sat waiting for what was coming for her. Well, if meant she'd be seeing her kids again…

EDIT: don't bother. I'm just slightly drunk. Taboo-XX made chatting on these boards while being slightly drunk seems funny. Maybe it only works on Synthesis threads.

Yup... I think my first thread here was to point out that there is enough data on Jack's real identity in the little bit of Shadow Broker Dossier and her real first name to easily identify her true identity... but it's not really that big of a deal.  And BW isn't going to follow up on the dossier stuff.

My friend says that a picture of Jack's left eye is present on the Firebase: London map. Can anyone confirm? Maybe provide picture evidence?
