I like the direction they took Jack in in ME3, she's happy and she's doing something important. Compared to having a Miranda who says nothing about how Cerberus has gone from being an organization that worked to better humanity to being the Legion of Doom and an Ash who just sits in her room stuck in Zaeed mode that's a good thing.

Jack part is very short bud whoever wrote that did well with what he/she had. What makes me sad (and angry) is that they left ALL the ME2 squadmates with nothing but minutes of screentime. Jacob cheating on Shepard, Thane goes away with a bang after just 3 minutes of screentime, Zaeed and Kasumi with nonsense Hub missions.

It's like they purposedly crashed all the hype I got after ME2 because a bunch of people were in hardcore nostalgic mode and started praising ME1 during the development of ME3. I spent almost a year of my life going back to ME2 from time to time with multiple walktroughs, only because I loved the characters. And the Mass Effect franchise strenght is all in the characters.

Putting the Lost aside was never, EVER a good idea.

I've been playing Borderlands lately as a break from ME multiplayer and it seems like the kind of setting where Jack would fit right in, heck the Siren class looks a little like her with longer hair

Actually I think that the "Phase thing" that Lilith had in Borderlands is where BioWare found inspiration for the N7 Fury.

The first and third picture have that cool cyberpunk Deus Ex feeling, I think ME3 Jack would fit in. The second one is far too much JRPG though.

...anyway, ME2 Jack is more unique and I don't see her fit in a cyber/psycho punk Universe. Her punk appearence has something absolutely "Galactic Sci-Fi" that I cannot quite explain.

I remember when Bioware was setting up Subject Zero to be a mystery. Then, they released the "Fight for the Lost" trailer and ruined everything. Why go through all that trouble to keep the characters on the Purgatory mission from using gender-specific pronouns when referring to Jack, only to spoil it before the game even came out?

Oh man, I didn't see trailers or nothing for her character. So when I was about to do her mission I was phyched that I was about to get a powerful biotic male added to the team, thinking he would replace Kaidan. But when she came out of cryo my mind was blowned and I was in awe. Bioware did a great job in deceiving me. Sorry to those of you who were spoiled, I wish you could have experiance the same feelings I had when I found out Jack was really a she.

That's great that they called people out on that. Most people were probably expecting Subject Zero to be male, because it's supposed to be some human biotic of incredible power, and because people tend to associate power with masculinity. Just another way her character was used to call people out on their assumptions.

I didn't pay attention to the trailers before the game came out so I was expecting Jack to be this Vega-sized biotic engine of destruction. Although I like bringing Grunt to Purgatory:

Shepard: That's Jack?

Grunt: Jack is small.

(Jack punches through the mechs and the wall behind them)

Grunt: She's blowing everything up! I like her!

Grunt's response to the Jack reveal in that mission is one of my favourite moments in the entire series. I like Kasumi's "she's not exactly subtle, is she?" as well.

They're not very good at keeping secrets. Remember revealing The Prothean as a DLC extra a year before the game game out? lol.

I played ME2 on PS3 out of churiosity, so I wasn't aware of what the ME Universe was during my first playthrough. Jack was absolutely a great shock that I still remember happily from time to time.

I was in a similar boat. Got ME1 during a bad week where a back injury left me stuck in bed for some time (3 quarters of an hour to get out of bed to go for a leak is not fun) in April 2010, so just after the buzz over ME2 had faded. Completed ME1, then dived straight into ME2. That moment when I saw Jack for the first time... Image IPBImage IPBImage IPBImage IPBImage IPBImage IPBImage IPB

This explain perfectly my reaction to Jack the first time I see her.

The only problem was that I was at least half-aware that she was a woman, because italian language doesn't work like English and the last letter of a word/adjective can give away the gender. So when Kuril said "Jack is crazy", he used the italian word "pazza" that can be used only with a female subject.

But that didn't ruined the shock one bit! (I remember thinking that the "pazza" could have been an error before seing her. Never thought about "Jack" as a female name before ME2)

I wasn't quite sure what to make of Jack, then I heard her voice. Sure, Jack might curse every other sentence but I could listen to her talk for hours.

Exactly. I like chicks who are hard-asses in real life. Which is why I liked her character so much. If i wanted a LI who was proper, I would just blindfold shepard and have him toss a rock. They're everywhere..

 So...Leviathan:

Purgatory

Jack: So I hear your goin' fishing.

Shepard: How do you know about Leviathan?

Jack: Egghead raving about some beastie that blows up Reapers bites it  out of nowhere and you show up a week before our monthly round of drinks? Ain't that hard to put two and two together.

Shepard: What do you think about all this?

Jack: I think you haven't learned your lesson about helping scientists. Causes everybody involved a ****load of trouble when you do.

Shepard: Name one time.

Jack:  Let's see, there was that Overlord thing that jumped into your brain and drove you around like a meat puppet, then there was that **** with that Kenson ****, that one got your dumb ass thrown in jail.

Shepard: We got through both of those though.

Jack: This isn't some squint prison or Cerberus ****up we're talking about. Scuttlebutt says the thing takes out Reapers like it's no big deal, that sort of thing says stay the hell away.

Shepard: Jack...

Jack: I'm serious. Getting hauled in by the Alliance is one thing, but I don't want a repeat of...well y'know.

Shepard: I'll be careful.

Jack: You'd better be. Otherwise I'm going to bring you back so I can kick your ass myself get it?

Shepard: Yes m'am.

Jack: Good. (kisses Shepard)

That "explore new hidden areas on the Citadel" get my hopes high. But I know it'll be just the barely named scientist that will give us the mission in a room or something like that.

I've been campaigning for this for a long time. There is NO good, solid reason why we can't bring her along for any future DLC.

Honestly when Bioware made Jack say "If we were useless I could drop this s**t and come with you". What they really were saying was "We at have decided we don't care about this character anymore. Here's Liara. Enjoy."

A similar thing happened with Samara. I understand that she's a Justicar, and her foremost task is to protect innocent lives in asari space. However, as a Justicar, she can also swear the Oath of Subsumation again to Shepard, if it is needed. Going with Shepard to find a way to stop the Reapers would make going to Thessia to defend against the Reapers redundant. Just another lame hand-wave to keep another ME2 squadmate out of ME3.

Jack could have come along for missions, while her students are on leave on the Citadel, or wherever.  We didn't get that, though.

there's plenty of ways Bioware can work out the details for a lot of characters for new missions.

Wrex: has Eve to handle the Krogan Situation. Eve herself is an Established Female
Grunt: lol easily could have join after Rachni Missions
Zaeed: The Human Krogan - no execuse. just laughable IMO
Miranda: This was a joke considering how much Potential Miranda has as a character
Samara: Just read my Review (signature) I've given Samara high praised on how great of a Character she is and how badly she was portrayed in ME3.
Jack: Miranda & Jack were my LI in seperate playthroughs. I tried with Samara.......but didnt work. Really wish Samara was a LI option

anyway the only fans should be satisfied are liara fans.

EDIT: too much flames. I'll write my opinion on the sick fan-service of ME3 when I'm less in a "ME2 Jack" mood.

Either that or have Shepard run into Jack and the 103rd on an N7 mission:

Shepard: (over radio) That Harvester is keeping our shuttle from landing. Think you could give us a hand?

Jack: What do you want me to do? Pull it out of the ****ing sky with my brain?

Shepard: That would be great!
