More random conversations with crew members on the Normandy:
Jack:"....I shall destroy thee!!!
"and he crumbled like a pile of debris"

Ashley: I'm not sure I'm familar with that poet. Who did you say wrote that?

Jack: some human named Nought.

Ashley: never heard of her.

Jack: she's pretty new age. That was one of her unpublished ones.

Just found this in the older pages of the thread (around 50 IIRC), I think this beauty deserves a re-post.

Ah, I remember that, I suggested that the Batarian was playing the guitar and Goat made the best of it, haha.

There's  the line "Fear god and dread nought" that the British navy uses. Although "dread Nought" would be a pretty cool tagline for a Jack comic book...

Saw "Paranorman". The minor surprise at the end reminded me about one of the lessons I think the player learns from Jack. I won't say anything more, because it might spoil the movie for people who want to go see it. Go see it, by the way.

At first I couldn't figure out what you meant, after thinking about it for a few minutes I think I get what you mean.

That's also true, but not directly what I meant.  --->Don't assume things about people, or you may be surprised, for better or for worse.  The guy at the end casually mentioning that he has a boyfriend, when the audience probably assumed he's straight, just a little dim, as per the horror movie trope about the meathead character.  Just like some people assumed Jack is gay or bi.  <---

Some people think she doesn't care about her real name, because that is who she could have been, and that person is dead.

Being curious about your parents and family has nothing to do acceptence of yourself.  If anything, denying your family and it's possibilites sounds more like like not accepting yourself.

BW just dropped the ball on Jack's background.  It is out of character that Jack would just shrug at information that could rock her world.  Even adopted children in happy families wonder about their biological parents, much less complete orphans who were kidnapped by an evil organization.

Please stop making excuses for BW.

Good characters are flawed.  Their flaws make them interesting.  It wouldn't be a bad thing if Jack doesn't want to know about her family, because it means she still has problems that need to be worked out.  It would be a bad thing if she's managed to work out all of her difficulties in the ~6 months between ME2 and ME3.

Also, don't assume I support the claims of these people.  Stop putting words in my mouth.  Not even gonna be polite and say "please".

Not giving a **** that her name is Jennifer has nothing to do with being curious about her heritage, heck pretty much everyone is curious about that in some way. If she ever did meet her parents they would call her Jack because that's who she is.

I like the idea of Jack finding out about her family, even if they're dead. However, I do also like that Jack has put her past behind her, and is looking only to the future and an auspicious present.

I also like to entertain the idea of Jack meeting her mother and/or father, but I don't read into it any more than that. For simplicity's sake, I'd leave out other siblings. I'm far more interested in how she'd interact with her parents.

I don't have an issue with the idea of Jack looking up her family I just think its better left to fanfiction. Everybody already has there own headcanon on the topic. For instance, I believe that if Jack were to think about it too much she would likely come to resent her mother and that forgiveness would be Jack's final transcendent moment.

I'd rather just headcannon her reaction or rely on fanfiction, which I did on the past, so I usually just go off that type of stuff, at least concerning Jack's family. I'd rather they focus on content concerning ME3 timeline, since they're not doing DLC that happens after the end of the game, I don't see the point of bringing up that scenario for Jack, at least not in DLC because of size limit of DLC, what their vision is (might contradict what I believe) and I don't see it fitting well during the events of ME3. I'd rather just see more of her before Earth, even during Earth with her students, more Citadel time. I'm quite content with her mission at Grissom's Academy, so I personally don't need another "LM" type scenario from her. All I need is to see that emotional side explored by Bioware.

I like that Jack is pulling Miranda's hair. I also like that the only character that isn't child-ified is Samara, because this picture is depicting a motherly thing.

To whoever answered that question I posted awhile back, about if Jack's kids would know her real name?

Hope you don't mind, but I used your answer for the title of this picture:

That looks great, Sundown.  I like how the beam of light is not on Jack's side of the split frame.  What was the answer given to your question?

I believe it was "Jennifer is dead."

I was thinking about grayscaling Jennifer, or at least, making her look ghostlike, to symbolize that. But then, I did enough to the picture, already. Heh.

Sorry to interupt and double sorry if this has already been mentioned somewhere in the past 298 pages, but I just noticed something. In point form to avoid having to think in sentences:

1) At the end of the suicide mission in ME2, assuming Jack survived, in the cut-scene where you check-in with the squad after talking to the Illusive man, while looking thru the crowd you get a extra long moment with Jack. She looks at Shepard and I think nods. The next interaction is with Garrus and its just a brief look not even a second., most of the squad members don't even react.
a) you get that interaction whether Shepard is male or female, whether you romance her or not. I have always played the Paragon route, but I assume the cut-scene would be the same with a Renegade.

So I recently replayed Me 2 and after seeing this realized that I had always wondered what this meant. The payoff is in ME3, just in the fact that Jack decided to join the Academy as an instructor. Also you have the option in the bar scene to tell her (roughly) '"Military life looks good on you, people you can trust and won''t let you down''. Referring to her past life versus her experiences as a member of the Normandy with Shepard -- the change in her life being a reflection of Shepard's leadership (not just his magic part). ( Should point she''s not really military just a specialst-type instructor, and wouldn't I imagine have passed the psych screening).

Just a nice little touch carried thru over the 2 games. Give me a thanks if no-one else noticed this.a "PFFFT"" if already noted and commented on.

You look at it as Jack telling Shepard that he/she did good. Would you have expected that kind of admission from Jack before? I also look at it as Jack viewing herself as part of a team consisting of people she trusts, led by a person she trusts.

That nod is a good thing. It means she's changing.
