How was Jack's romance bugged?

(I've only been playing ME2 since about a month ago so it's been 1.02 for me)

I romanced Jack and had the romance scene, but it seemed the romance wasn't "logged".
I couldn't invite her to the captain's quarter

Did you try going down to another level then coming back up to your captain's quarter?

That is sweet, and as you said, if it were more personalized, in sections, blinged up, flashing lights all over, etc, it'd look real nice. I also wouldn't mind her keeping the biker look, she could throw on studded leather chaps and a vest and cowboy hat to boot  oh yeah, great ideas here.

Shields are great and obviously important, but if a character can have shields and armour, then why not? Although, maybe I'm full of it, seeing as I never have the characters wearing helmets when the option to not do so is available.

Indeed, and that's a fair argument. Unless you're Thane, you're going to take some damage regardless of the quality of defense you have or what specialization you are. I'll sooner leave it up to my squad to prepare themselves, and if Jack doesn't give a f*** then Shepard's not gonna argue. An excellent leader

Didn't you hear? Jack's the only LI who doesn't get "called up" after the suicide mission.

Yeah, too many of us believe this so it must be true.

But I too was never able to get Jack to come up to the Captain's Cabin (I gave up and stopped trying, so if it was fixed a while a back I guess I should try again).

Hmm...on my previous Adept playthrough, I was able to call her up. Then I went down the elevator.

I have a Steam version of the game, which is supposed to always be up to date, so it kinda blows that the bug was there last time I checked. I'll have to finish my current play-through before I can check again.

I imagine the conversation going something like this.

Shepard: Hey, Jack... Hey, so what ya doin'?
Jack: Believe it or not, I'm writing out my memoirs.
Shepard: Really?
Jack: Yeah. Chambers suggested it. Said it might be theraputic or some ****. Right now I'm at that bit where I biotically punched a waiter so hard, his head exploded.
Shepard: Yeah, I remember that. I got a bit of skull fragment in my eye.
Jack: Well, what do you want from me? The avocado in my salad was starting to turn brown. Plus, I'm pretty sure he was staring at my chest.
Shepard: He was an elcor....
Jack: Yeah, whatever. Did you want something?
Shepard: Actually, uh.... No! No, I think I'm good. How are you?
Jack: You're weird, Shepard. So, am I coming up to your quarters later?
Shepard: Sure, if you want. I mean, you don't have to if you're busy.
Jack: I'm not that busy. And I better not smell Chamber's perfume in there again, either. You do know she's the reason half the crew has scale-itch, right?

Well, there are certinally some salads that don't taste good at all. Which is bizarre, because making a delicious salad is really simple.

That you deny Jack tasty foodstuffs -- especially with fresh avocado -- is just cruel. Hasn't she suffered enough?

I don't really remember, it was my first playthrough of Mass Effect.
But it was the perfect excuse to play the game again and make my own Shepard.

This bug never happened to me. I remember I tested the "call Jack" thing once for the lulz science and it worked just fine.

Jack is great, romanced her first on my latest playthrough and have to admit, paragon romance for Jack is totally worth it! That final scene got to me...

Anyways I'm sure I heard/read somewhere that she is going to be a bit softer than ME2 if you romanced her, also that she will have hair, thoughts?

p.s I know of the latest tweet that our actions will affect her and softer side doesnt really count, however it depends on how the devs look at things, which is 100% not the way WE do.

I always thought it was really stupid that all the teammates (except Tali) went into low/hazardous atmosphere areas wearing nothing but a Chanel/Gucci oxygen mask. Weren't they getting fried on Haestrom, frozen on Legion's LM, or bleeding oxygen out of their skins on the derelict reaper? Shepard always wore full face in those situations even if his default helmet was the "headshot" eyepiece. I'm happy to see my Jack in boob-belts on the Normandy/Citadel/habitable non-mission area, but it's full armour with/out grafiti when the guns come out.

Good point, she likes to utilize any intimidation techniques. She's probably the envy of all krogan because of it.

I got the Steam version too. You shouldn't have to play through again to find out if it's bugged but I spose replaying it is it's own reward.

Things are perfectly paranormal in here. Anyway, it's still early in development, they're only going to show us Vega, Liara, and Ashleykaidan so they don't spoil anything. I hope we see the other new squaddie if there is one sometime, cuz I would hate to only have those 3 in my failthrough import. At this point, Jack is either a full squaddie, or she's got a huge freakin cameo.

Maybe everyone got weapon's training during the break between Arrival and the invasion. I heard that squaddies will be arming themselves in a way that's "appropriate" to their character, though. So my dream of Hitman Jack and Subject Assault will probably be crushed.

Jack with big guns doesn't make a lot of sense to me, I'd more easily see her with 2 pistols and a wide range of biotic powers, but as Kyrene said the shotgun is very intimidating, and it is part of her character. Maybe in ME3 she gets a Claymore with longer range and tighter spread. O...m...g...

I'm with you there, except for the first playthrough bit...it was more like my 4th playthrough.

And Jack is "a bit softer" regardless if she's romanced, and someone told me "that makes her romance kind of pointless, doesn't it? I said the only thing that would be pointless is if she's loyal even if you use her and/or don't do her LM, treat her like crap, etc. But that's just me, she could be so affected by the events of ME2 that she's softened up regardless of Shepard's actions, so long as it's more convenient for the writing staff. One thing I will not be able to stand is if she says "you did a lot for me"  to my douchebag Shep who didn't do any loyalty missions, or treats me like a buddy when I went with the casual sex option. You know, consequences.

Indeed, a line here and there that acknowledges the little things you did would go a long way.
