I think that what Ms. Taylor said was thought-provoking. Jack's tattoos are for her, not for anyone else. Tattoos aren't the only way Jack can be physically intimidating. Therefore, I have to wonder, why would she reveal so much of herself, physically?

I think its a mental thing. like how sometimes rape victims go and have tons of anonymous sex etc after being raped to feel like their in control of who they have sex with. kelly gave some analysis how jack is kind of that way about sex and sexuality how she tries to draw power from it and derive motives ( casual sex option given to shep). Also how jack was tailored to to seek pleasure as one of her only outlets through fighting ( mixed with drugs) and being used as a pleasure tool through cults etc.

Could just be a habit, something subconscious.

Somehow I think the whole "lack of armor for environmental protection" thing won't be as much of an issue in ME3. It seems like most of the fighting will be done on earth anyway, so I'll be very surprised if "realistic" armor is implemented elsewhere. It would still be nice though.

well what about protection from a charging krogan..or a huge chunk of debree...come on... not evrything is high velocity so to be stopped by barriers...

and if you read the codex and the info on some of the armors..youll see that they are not only for protection....they also amplify phisical str......and have first aid units(thats why your helth regenerates when you hide behind cover whithout being hit)

the lack of armors is simply stupid and all the excuses for it are empty and lame... :(

if armors were so useless why are all the mercs wearing them...most cerberus operatives....(well someone could make a joke and say"well see theyre useless cus l all those dudes die so easy"but it wont be funny)

thats why my first ME fanart was Jack in armor... :)

i get it that in some segments the characters shud not wear armor... like when they were taken by surprise like the foorage they show from right after the reaper invasion on earth...

but i bet they wont make the effort to make the segment believable and remove all the stuff you shud not get from not wearing an armor...cus we wouldnt whant the newbs to resell the game cus they cant do the first mission...

i hate what mainstreaming is doing to the game industry in general... <_<

Man, if Jack isn't a permanent squad member in ME3 I'm gonna be pissed.

Course, I figure, she has to be. Why set her up as a romance and then keep her away in the final game of the trilogy?

Easy, the same reason Thane/Jacob/Miranda are (probably) being kept away.

What reason is that?

The way I figure it, the best option for bioware here is to make it so that you have a limited number of members you can take on your crew. That way you can get in the characters that have to be there (like Garrus, Tali, and Liara) and also a couple (or few) extra "optional" squadmates. In this way they can focus on their "deeper" relationships with fewer squad members and avoid pissing off everyone who'd be unlucky enough to have a LI you couldn't take along. Because, let's be honest here, a LI cameo ain't enough for their fans.

But they have already said no one is permanent.
I think it will be interesting to see Squadis coming and going, not like in ME2 where the little dialogue with your friends turns into a running gag.

I'd like to see a BG2 style scenario where you can have your choice of certain teammates. They would be mandatory during their relevant storyline, then could just ask if you need help, or remain there to rebuild or whatnot. Improbable due to the vastly increased voice over and script work, but still, it is nice to dream.

BioWare's dealing with the largest supporting cast they've ever had, as far as I'm aware.

ME1:
Virmire Survivor
Garrus
Liara
Tali
Wrex

ME2:
Miranda
Jacob
Mordin
Jack
Grunt
Thane
Samara/Morinth
Legion

ME2 DLC:
Zaeed
Kasumi

ME3:
Vega
(maybe more)

8 of them are LI's. Virmire Suvivor, Liara, Jack, Tali, Miranda, Jacob, Garrus, and Thane

It's gotta be a tough job to wedge all them peeps into ME3 somehow. I'm confident they'll give us quality time with the LIs though, even if they're not around all the time.

I doubt there will be much fighting on Earth and regardless, there is a lot more about this game that in unrealistic vs what is realistic, people's armor fetish is just weird and then they try and hang it on realism, which apparently only matters to them when it comes to apparel.

I wish they would add side dialogues between the crew like they do with Dragon age 2. Walking around and having jack adress the crew and shep while they are walking through omega or doing missions would be awsome. dragon age 2 was so awsome when it came to that they whole party was able to remeber and resume convos that happened over a span of like 5-6 years

They tried implimenting a banter system for ME2, but since there was so many henchman, they found it to be a mess, which lead to them not being able to address that for ME2.  Bioware stated that they're going for more banter in ME3, since the squadmates aren't going to permanent, which can lead to unique dialogue with whomever you have at that certain time in the game.   At least, that's the way I see it.

I kinda think the lack of clothing is jack's thing you. she kind of fluants what you can't have and she likes having the power to do so. Her tatoos are also to beutiful to cover up I think. She's like a dangerous animal flashing their warning colors with all those awsome colors and patterns.

Indeed, I got that vibe when you ask her about the tattoos. I felt like she enjoyed telling you what some of them were for, and enjoyed not telling you what some of them were for. If you were close, she'd probably tell you she originally got them to cover her surgical scars, but that doesn't make her sound very powerful.

I'm picturing a Horizon situation where the "dossiers" are split up, because I can't imagine this game only being on 1 or even 2 discs.

I'm hoping that when Casey said "permanence doesn't make sense in war" he was exaggerating. Much like the hype over how "difficult" it was to get everyone out alive during the Suicide Mission. Christina Norman might say squaddies won't work like they did in the first two games, but they said the same thing about how the DA2 squaddies worked compared to Origins, but fundamentally they work the same way. Maybe they are serious, though, and it won't be like anything we've experienced as squaddies are coming and going through a revolving door. I won't say that's a bad idea until I see it for myself, but for the sake of balancing your squad, it would be more difficult to spread everyone out as opposed to stashing them on the ship.

I bet this very old news, but Jack probably softens up in ME3.
"She's matured," admits Art Director Derek Watts, "maybe she's softened up a bit. You can only stay punk rock for so long, you know. Even Johnny Rotten eventually goes, 'I've got to do something different'. She'd get tired of walking around completely naked and she'd probably grow her hair out, but she's still Jack and still kinda punk - shaved at the sides with a ponytail at the back".

How much do you guys think she will? I think romanced Jacks will act differently.
About the haircut, I bet she dies her hair neon pink or purple.

Depends. We don't know how she's changed, due to Shepard's effects on her. It would seem that she's softened up, even if Shepard did encourage her violent behavior, by making a certain decision at Teltin.

Persuading her to kill/spare Aresh will probably have a small if noticeable effect on Jack, kinda the same way pushing Garrus to be either more Paragon or more Renegade in ME1 changes how he acts during his loyalty mission in ME2, just a little bit.

Romancing Jack will definitely have a noticeable impact on her, though. But yeah, she'll probably still be punk and edgy to some degree.
