^^I hope this is not too explicit for the forums .

That's one of my favorite pictures of Jack. It captures both her beauty and her internal vulnerability.

I'm just replaying ME2 and remembering how awesome Jack is. Badass biotic with a past, and hopefully a future in ME3.

Right here, Marble. The questions start at the 11min mark. To Goat's point, considering the comments Hudson makes just seconds before about caring about your LI (leading to the purchase of hand grenades???), I think its a safe bet to assume he was exaggerating.

Indeed, everyone's a closet Jack fanboy, they just don't know it.

Oh, and what's up, Jake, haven't seen you in forever. Have a cookie.

Depends. We don't know how she's changed, due to Shepard's effects on her. It would seem that she's softened up, even if Shepard did encourage her violent behavior, by making a certain decision at Teltin.

I would say that the events of ME2 humbled her, but Jack didn't really need a lesson in humility. She's tough, reckless, overconfident, as trustworthy as a falling piano, but she's also "messed up", "crazy", "pathetic", "a little girl", etc, etc. This is a degree of "softness" that we could see more of in ME3 (hope not). The other major soft side of Jack is, of course, her romance, but the smallest window of fluffiness we see in ME2 Jack is the friendship dialogue where she thanks you for the help. That followed by her empathy for biotic kids, the Protheans, the Heretics, and others I can't recall offhand. These 2 things, friendship and concern for others, I suspect will be the foremost evidence of Jack's "fluffy maturation".

Her romance is a separate issue altogether; it's not mutually exclusive with her softening up (they aren't going to write 2 different Jacks), but undoubtedly it will be full of d'awwws, and like KingNothing said, the affects our personal choices have will likely be similar to Garrus' variability from ME1-ME2. Small but meaningful.

lol Casey uses hand grenades to protect his LI.  He isn't the best speaker, that's for sure. Anyone here have good stage presence? :D

I think its a safe bet to assume he was exaggerating.

Here's another thing, he has to speak for all the LI, including those who are just cameos, and/or "off doing their own thing", or maybe even those who are practically nonexistent (had to give Jacob his own category ), so I think he's oversimplifying for the sake of damage control. There are already sh!tstorms over tweets like "how much you'll see her is dependant on your decisions", so he'd have a never ending sh!tstorm if he flat out said "Jack is a full squaddie with romance arc, Miranda has a cool cameo". He's doing the smart thing.

Of course, I could be wrong, but that's the vibe I'm getting. All the talk about Jack maturing, her redesign, Weekes liking her more, Casey's tweet about how she's a "key char", it's all implicative.

Love the artwork, the bottom 2 edited screenshots are pretty epic, but I gotta agree with Jake.

F*ckin watermark, though :(

You said that already.

If she killed innocence at all (much less for fun), she wouldn't hijack a passenger ship and not kill anyone (that's what makes her a pirate, ARRR). She's killed people, yes, but Shepard has killed more people and things than she can imagine. She's also not psychopathic/sociopathic, if you listen to her dialogue you'll see she simply has a lack of social skills because of no upbringing.

God bless you! I get so anxious when i think she's not going to be around. You know what I did? This is terrible, hate myself for it even. Went ahead and did a play through: 0 love interest in ME, 0 li in ME2. I just cant handle the possibility of not having them around, so I ran away. My sister pointed out that I've done the same in real life after I let her know i had covered my tracks in case of the inevitable. Nothing romantic about that. Thanks for the link!

People around here use the word "sociopath" as often as they use verbs. Sociopaths are incapable of empathy. They lack a conscience. Jack is capable of empathy. Therefore, Jack is not a sociopath. She does have behavioral issues, due to conditioning.

awww crap i did -_- my bad, i knew i MAYBE made a post but wasnt sure and didnt feel like searching, its just a thing thats bugged me about her is all.

also theres a pretty big difference between being a soldier and killing things, and being an outlaw and killing things.

and i have listened to her dialogue numerous times. like i said she's an interesting character that i can ALMOST sympathize with. alot of her dialogue is about how she enjoys killing, even offering to be shepards executioner if they went pirate and started raiding transport vessels. thats alittle more than lack of social skills.

and she has no regard for other peoples lives, so yeah, i'd say that fits sociopath pretty good.

i sitll like her though, very annoyed she wasnt more useful gameplaywise. all she ever uses for me is shockwave and shotgun/pistol is a horrible weapon set up :\\

still more interesting to talk to than most of the cast of ME2

Who has she ever killed that could be considered innocent?  I've never seen or heard of her actually attacking someone who didn't deserve it in some way.  She's a bit brash about it and maybe goes a bit overboard, but the people she has hurt can never really be considered "innocent".  (Except maybe that poor hanar moon.....)

I'm waiting for one "Jack is a psychopath" person to give us one example of Jack killing for no reason (for fun).

It's my belief that these people are incorrectly interpreting her admission that she gets warm feelings from fighting (due to conditioning) to mean she kills people just to achieve that warm feeling. I believe that's wrong. Any time she's ever killed, as far as I'm aware, has been in self defense or for revenge, or because she was compelled to do so (on Pragia).

I understand.

True, her criminal endeavors can't be lauded, but you said she murders innocent people for fun, and there's no evidence of that.

and i have listened to her dialogue numerous times. like i said she's an interesting character that i can ALMOST sympathize with. alot of her dialogue is about how she enjoys killing, even offering to be shepards executioner if they went pirate and started raiding transport vessels. thats alittle more than lack of social skills.

Her enjoyment in killing was part of her conditioning at Teltin, involving narcotics, and somehow I doubt you truly listened to her dialogue when you say she has no regard for other people's lives. Her LM is full of examples. She even has empathy for the geth Heretics, for christ's sake. Compared to renegade Shepard she's a total softy

i sitll like her though, very annoyed she wasnt more useful gameplaywise. all she ever uses for me is shockwave and shotgun/pistol is a horrible weapon set up :

The AI for everyone is subpar, so I find her about as useful as anyone else. It depends on your class and playstyle, imo. I've played with her as a Soldier, Sentinel, and Vanguard, and Pull is always relevant. I've been playing Soldier lately and I'll go Adrenalin and Mattock all the defenses of any group of enemies stepping through a doorway, then she Pull Field's them for easy pickings. And yes, shotguns are definitely weak, if you don't have the Firepower DLC. Wooot GPS ftw!
