I understand that. Doesn't really sound like "going renegade" though.

For instance: my wife the other day was purposely making just paragon choices for a number of conversations post-Horizon. When asked, she replied that she was worried she didn't have enough and needed the paragon points for Tali's trial. I said it didn't matter, she could just incite the crowd, or claim there was no evidence and get Tali exiled and Tali would still be loyal. Couldn't she roleplay it, or these "all-paragon" choices she was making? She said no.

That really threw me. Then again my wife's characters are carbon copies of her, just with a different sex, occupation and LI, but she can [spacebar] through most of the game since she never deviates much from a certain dialogue path.

Long aside, aside: I thought you meant that kind of playing where if it's written in red, or flashes red on the left of the screen you do it, regardless. Your infiltrator sounds more like a rene-with a good sized dose of-gon. (Just like) Jack might actually like him, so don't listen to Slurms.

You didn't state an opinion....you pretty much said "Jack is a psychopath who kills for fun" as it was a fact and it was pointed out that that wasn't true.  She's not a "gentle little kitten".  Like was said, she has issues, but she doesn't just kill kill kill for the hell of it.  She's violent, abrasive, aggrassive, loud mouthed, and ****-talking, but not psychopath. 

I don't think anyone cares that you don't really care for her that much overall.  That's an opinion and you're entitled to that.  But, when you start saying Greedo shot first, you're starting a discussion.  When there is overwhelming evidence against something you try to state as fact, you're going to be told such.  It's not people being rabid.

Also, the point of the character isn't that she's a psycho killing machine....it's that she wants you to think she's a psycho killing machine, but she's actually much more complex and deeper than that. So, yeah, you missed the point of the character, I'd say.

By stating what you just said, you obviously missed the point of her character.  Jack is not a "gentle little kitten," and never will be in my opinion, but that doesn't change the fact that she cares about other people, she just has trouble showing that she does.  What do you expect from her position and what she's been through, just to open herself up like a book?  We've stated countless time's that she's never murdered anyone innocent, or who didn't deserve it - she's obviously killed in the past, but from what she's told us, it's always been mercs, people looking to kill her and criminals of any kind (Drug Dealers, Rapists, etc) 

Sure, you can call her a sociopath, pyschopath, whatever at first glance or even from first talking to her because of the way she presents herself, but when it comes down to it, she's a person who can care and who does care, but has issues.

It seems a lot of people think Bioware would actually create a character who was simply a murdering psychopath with no development, depth, or purpose except to ****** you off. I would greatly respect Bioware's decision to do something like that, cuz afterall there are people who are like that, but it'll never happen. There's a social message to all these stories and many fail to see that.

but she IS a sociopath...lol, just because she has an emotional side, doesnt mean she's not a sociopath.

sociopath is a loosely defined term. Jack fits quite well into having antisocial personality disorder (which is commonly called a sociopath). fits pretty much every requirement for diagnosis from the DSM.

and im not trolling. im trying to discuss her character, how i found it hard to sympathize with her because of her personality and what she's done. defending her violent past IS missing the point of her character. she's supposed to be a damaged, violent person who's done horrible things. shepard is supposed to be the redeeming force, who helps her change, deal with her issues and grow as a person.

but you guys defending her past as if she's an innocent person is missing the point of her character, she's not supposed to be innocent at all. quite the opposite. she was a space pirate and merc, outlaw and thief for quite awhile, you think she was playing robin hood the whole time? grow up...

yes, bringing up how i like her character but have problems sympathizing with her due to her past isn't discussing her at all.

and her fitting every requirement for antisocial personality disorder isn't really opinion. and her killing innocents is heavily implied numerous times. she goes into detail multiple times on how she takes pleasure in killing people. i mean im not stating opinions here, thats her character, if you do a paragon romance of her she breaks down and shows you her emotional side, but she's still that person.

her doing all those horrible things is part of her character, its supposed to be a way for you to see how damaged she really is. saying she's never killed an innocent person is ridiculous. her entire character is built around being deeply flawed, why are you all in such denial that she's killed innocents? its a big part of her character progression and development, you know, her realizing that she's done wrong things and all that?

but whatever, i'll still just get dismissed as a troll for not blindly agreeing with the group opinion, so whatever.
