I don't like Jack, and I can't understand why do you people like her, I'd just like to hear your reasons why you like her because in my opinion she is an ugly psychopath evil ****

Like was previously stated, we all like/dislike different things about her.  I honestly don't see how you can say she's ugly, though.  I can see you not being into tattoos and a shaved head, but if you're going by facial structure, she is extremely gorgeous.  She's also, easily, the most expressive in terms of body and facial language and attitude.  Granted, she's pretty damn jadded about everybody and everything, but once you get to know her and chip away at that wall a bit......you'll see what I mean.  :D

Also, quick question, who is you're favorite LI then?  I might be throwing in a stereotype, but I have a feeling you're going to say Miranda.

Hi! Image IPB Figured I jump in while it's still fresh, seeing as I kind of missed the boat on the ME2 fan threads.

I love Jack. Wasn't sure about her when I first met her (likewise Miranda, Samara and Grunt), but while taking her on just about every mission and talking to her at every available opportunity, I've really grown to ove her character now. I even romanced her (don't like playing maleShep), and was surprised by how much she opens up and reveals more about her past relationships - not the ones that were negative, but the one that was mostly positive. I was she'd had that conversation with femShep too.

Her brutal honesty and individuality are what make Jack so interesting I think. She's certainly not like most of the characters (especially the LI characters) in other games I've played. And not only does she dish out honesty, but she takes it (mostly) too, from Shepard, anyway, whereas some other characters who like to be very honest about what they think of everyone else become very defensive when the main character uses the same approach on them. Jack's bitter and cynical, but you can see her starting to work through that with Shep's help, and realising that she can count on Shepard.

Ah, I really hope she's back on the team in ME3, even if it's only as a temporary companion. And hopefully she's not suddenly really conventional... but I have some faith in Bioware about that.

All of these remind me of Jack in some way, although it's hard to pinpoint exactly what I think her "sound" is. From rock to industrial to orchestral-rock to orchestral-choir, can't really decide.

The Power of Darkness
Firestorm
Iron Soul
Global Tempest
Decimator
Fire head

Very nice. Love me some Metallica. How about this.

Great stuff. When I get out of class tonight, I'll search for more of it. I was having that same problem trying to figure out what could Jack's sound really be and the closet rock-orchestra that did a little justice was "End of All Hope" by Nightwish. A Matallica song I've always wanted to hear implemented in a game was "Nothing Else Matters".

I believe the plan was for this thread to act as the "spoiler" section, but it hasn't worked out that way as of yet.

I can really see her listening to something like Nightwish more then Metallica, honestly.   Or maybe she rocks out to some Distillers and Horrorpops more so?  :D

Now all I can see is Jack dressed up in a Metallica tour t-shirt.

I still stand by my ideal of either mohawk, "Tank Girl" style, or something along those lines. Speaking of Tank Girl, I think I am falling for Ms. Jia Jem after seeing her Jack cosplay and Tank Girl cosplay. If anyone here knows any single, nerdy girls that are confident enough to do cosplay and are this beautiful, let me know.....

Image IPB

Also, I just wanted to post another pic of Jack here because there hasn't been enough yet. :P

Jack is the one Romance that I am most intrigued to see played out in 3. She was a breath of fresh air as far as LI go. Bioware really went in the right direction with her and I look forward to saving Earth with the all powerful b*tch.

why do you people like Jack? She is a traumatized sociopath that has very little redeeming value. All these looks of her.. I believe she does not belong to Mass Effect at all.

Don't forget Grunt, the "I-just-want-to-shoot-things" energetic youth. And Samara, the boring knight-errant do-gooder. Why are they here at all?

Whether you like it or not isn't my concern, but you absolutely MUST

Image IPB

Cuz I think she's here to stay B)

Oh what Jack would listen to? That's different. In that case, I think punk rock and heavy metal is too safe of a guess. I'd say grunge rock, Jack chillin in engineering in her biker outfit, not wanting to start sh!t with ppl or vice versa, jamming to some Nirvana and Bush.

Of course, we know she likes to read, so maybe she's also into classical music and would get red in the cheeks if anyone knew :D I heard from a trusted source that classical music brings the primal rage in people to the surface.

greed89 wrote...

This is going to matter when I get confirmation Jack is back.

But seriously, half the reason I don't want her to have hair is because I hate the hair in ME. It's completely static and looks like every style is made from varnished wood. In The Witcher 2 Geralt has a pony-tail and it sways side to side when he walks, if those physics were applied to Jack it'd be interesting, but we all know that's probably not the case.

@ReallyRue and Nixter

I concur wholeheartedly.

Of all big fanbases, I respect Jack's the most.

And I Jack is 3rd most respected squadmate for me( Mordin 2nd, Samara 1st).

By design, I think that's accurate. A3 with the auburn color of A5, imo, but who knows, we might even get something like A2 or B2 by the time the game is released.

@Mesina

Agree about the fanbases. Not sure about the squadmates, it's too subjective. Even though it's a marketting thing, Samara's design is disrespectful of her moral stances. With Jack you can say "oh she's showing some skin to sort out the pigs and the shallow morons" but Samara is all business.  I respect her character immensely but it's one of those things that gets on my nerves and makes me think "really, Bioware?"

True of me as well, but you can't deny the intention
Or the fact that the sex-addict was more properly dressed than her mother who put aside such desires :P

I loved Jack's design for how extreme it was. It made me think she wasn't serious, that she was all about sex and remorseless killing and absolutely no close relationships especially with paragons. And that's what she wanted me to think.

I was reading the thread on Jack's Redesign and someone brought up her having different hair depending on how you dealt with her in ME2. I actually think that would be a cool addition, if possible. Different hairstyle depending on different variables; romanced, Aresh scene, and whatever else.

I'm fine with that not being the case, but that would be a cool addition to showing her character development towards ME3, from then on also.

Indeed it would be cool. Not just the different hairstyles, but the attitudes (which reflect the hairstyle). They already said she's softer, more matured, so retaining the shaved head and attitude based on events in ME2 would kind of go against what Mr. Watts said about "can't stay punk forever". But maybe he was only describing a romanced Jack. Would be awesome, but I think it'll be like Garrus from ME1-ME2....a slight change depending on the events of the previous game, but overall not much different.

Yeah, true. We'll just have to wait and see.

I can totally see her saying upon first meeting with Shepard "Sh*t, you still sound like a p*ssy!"
Then comes the Shepard grin... lmao

Asari culture is different from human's. Her outfit fits her position as a powerful and highly regarded Justicar. For example, there was that small mention in the first ME, how Benezia was wearing her ceremonial clothes upon her arrival at Noveria and from the fact, how human males reacted, it's obvious that she showed a lot of skin.

In our culture, serious and powerful woman don't run around in bikinis. Asari seem to handle things differently.
