I hope not, crying never helps anyone. And the ending of all those stories of Jack with these people, outside of that one guy, shows that she did not trust them. I am curious about their definition of "Softer" if that just means she doesn't oddly have the walls back up around Shepard, that's fine, it makes perfect sense. If she completely loses that abrasive personality, then that would make softer mean "completely different character"

When I think of Jack being a softer character in ME3, I kind of think along the lines of less destructive, more open to other people, and more understanding. Of course, I would imagine that she would still have the b*tchy and slightly condescending outward personality that we all know. I think Jack has too much pride to reveal any weaknesses to anyone, even Shepard at times. Jack doesn't want to be babysat, hence the independent outward attitude.

Nothing wrong with crying, tears are healing. It's healthy to let those feelings out.

I kind of think that Jack's romance is going to be a little like having a cat. There's sometimes when it wants to be close and cuddly and other times that it just wants to be left alone. "Softer" Jack probably will be more comfortable around Shepard, but I'm still sure that she'll still be the same Jack we know and love.

Shepard: (kisses Jack on the cheek only to get punched in the shoulder) What was that for?

Jack: (whispering) Not in front of everyone.

Shepard: I never thought you'd be the sort of person who would be embarrassed over (gets kicked in the shin) Ow!

Jack: Shepard, you may be cute but sometimes you're ****ing clueless.

Shepard: Maybe its because I'm distracted by my beautiful girlfriend.

Jack: **** you Shepard. (kisses his cheek and whispers in his ear) And thanks.

Aww! I can completely see something like that! Closer to Shepard, but around everyone else still abrasive. I mean even if Shepard is the only good thing ever to happen in her life and they survive the suicide mission together, it took her years to become the person she is. It will take that long and more if she's going to change in any number of ways, good or ill, but showing how she's changed in small ways is a great way to start.

On the subject of hair:

Shepard: I like the ponytail. Why'd you change it though?

Jack: Do I need a reason?

Shepard: Good point.

Jack: Went to the salon. (notices Shepard is about to speak) Just because I don't scream girly girl doesn't mean I can't like girly things. Figured it was time for a change.

Shepard: Well I think it's cute. (gets punched in shoulder) You can think that I'm cute but I can't think that you're cute?

Jack: Ain't double standards a ****?

Ahahaha, the last line.  I can't wait to hear the dialogue with Jack about her hair.

*Bit* of a newbie here. Maybe, technically, a lurker. (Hate that term...) Anyway, I was just curious as to whether or not there have been any reveal images of Jack and her hinted at new look? Thus far we've seen damn near everyone (the Tali shot out of Gamescom and PAX might be a placeholder) except for Jack. Now, I'll be honest. When it comes to the Romances my main continuity Shepard is with Tali, was with Ashley. But I do love Jack. If Tali had not been an option, I think it would have been a really, *really* tough call on whether to stay loyal to Williams, or fall for Jack. I do have a weakness for those, "Save me from myself," characters. Hopefully none of you Jack fans are offended by that description. Anyway, I'm rambling. Long story short: Jack images, yes/no? And what's the community's general consensus on the decision to make her less of a Punk/Biker female for ME3.

Not really much news other then Jack's VA confirming that Jack is in ME3 and Casey Hudson saying that Jack has a ponytail now.

 @Dr. Doctor:

I have a request, sir. My Shepard, in all continuities, is a Spacer with Military Parents. Loved watching Shepard call and talk with his Mother in ME1, and was, understandably, dissipointed in only having the email exchange in ME2 considering Shepard has been dead for two years. Despite the fact that she's his Military Superior in the Alliance Armed Services, Shep seems really close to his mom. As such, I'd imagine that, during a quiet period, either pre or post-ME3 Shepard would take the opportunity to see his mother again and, possibly, introduce her to the *other* woman who's very important to him, in this case Jack. So, my request, two conversations. The first is Shepard telling Jack that he wants her to come with him to see his mother, introduce her, etc. And the second is how said introduction/meet and greet with Shepard's Mother would go. I, humbly, issue this chllange, sir.

@glenboy24

I don't mind her (or Ash) being called "'Save me from myself' characters".

No pics of "new Jack" yet. But if they come, they will probably be posted here immediately.

As far as a general consensus on making her less of a punk/biker, I think I speak for everyone when I say "it ain't gonna happen". Just kidding, I think if I spoke for the general community I would have to be naive or arrogant; there seems to be a vast diversity of opinion here.

Hey Glen, there's a few pictures posted in this thread, with a lot of different designs that people have come up with. So just look around in the pages, good thing we're not over 500 pages, so it won't be hard to find.

@ Doctor

I also think a scene like the one you wrote up above in ME3 would fit Jack well, because it works with her humour and sarcasm, which I quite enjoy.

@punchbag: Thanks for not taking the description poorly. I didn't want to alienate myself right off the bat. And I agree that one person speaking for everyone would be a bit much; there's so much of that in other threads. No, I just meant that, as this point, given how condensed and close the Jack community is there would just be a general agreement on whether Jack's new approach is approved of or not much if at all. From the pages I've read, it seems like most people are alright with Jack covering up a bit more and even rocking the ponytail Dr. Doctor mentioned as long as he personality, that "In your face/say whatever's on her mind," mentality doesn't change. And I agree.

@Spiros9110: I went back, saw some of the art pieces. Quite a few aren't half bad, I could see BioWare going in those directions visually.

The one time I don't have the Jack Thread open in my tabs and this gets posted. Irony stinks when you multitask. <_<

Oh, and Dr. Doctor, you are great with the Shepard/Jack improv conversations. Ok, back to multitasking.

I love that type of hair, Jack could rock that, just add the tattoo's on the side and bam.   Depending on what type of hair she gets, I wonder what Bioware excuse is going to be to how she grew that much hair in whatever time frame.  The hair on my head grows abnormally fast, so I couldn't rock the moahawk for too long because of the sides growing going from bald to buzz in like 1 week lmao.  Maybe Jack has the same issue ;) lol

I have the same problem, fortunately I have a hair trimmer that goes all the way down to 1 millimeter, works great for keeping your sides really short. (Heck, I use it to shave my face too!)

Lol, same here. I had to get rid of my mohawk for work though, so that isn't a problem for me anymore... I would love to have that "problem" back.

And I think that hairstyle in that pic would look awesome on Jack.

I got a mohawk once in high school. I made the mistake of getting it in winter. It was a poor choice. Looked cool, though.

I have the same problem, which will make Basic fun.

I've said this on other threads, but it definitely bears repeating. Even though she's not my headcanon LI, I think that Jack's is the best executed romance arc in ME2. I get the impression that both she and Shepard are surprised to find that they care about each other, and are both a little confused about it. I love that.

Yeah, I never really thought of that, they're both from different worlds.  Jack coming from a Violent/Criminal/Underground type stuff, while Shepard is like a poster boy/girl for all soldiers.  I like that though, it adds to the whole seeing past certain traits and accepting the person for who they are.  That's why I could never really fall for Miranda, though I did romance her on my first playthrough, they just felt too perfect for each other, if that makes sense.  I was actually in a 3 way with Ash, Miranda and Jack somehow, don't know how Jack got involved though haha.  After the SM, I ended up talking to Jack and it triggered the romance or something and when I went up to my cabin, I got the romance scene which made me fall in love with Jack.  Also, I didn't hear any of the Murtock dialogue, so that made it even better when I was actually pursing her in my canon.
