I actually expect all the characters to change to some degree or another in ME3.  It may be posted in this very thread, but I seem to recall Casey saying that Jack would react to Shepard depending on how Shep treated her.  If that's the case, my broShep is in trouble.  My femshep on the other hand treated her quite well, in a "mother/troubled teenage daughter" sort of way.

Yeah, there's been ideas of how she'll turn out based on her LM, being romanced or not and some other factors.  There's a lot of variables with her and I believe there was a tweet stating that she's not exactly becoming "softer", but our actions have had influence towards her.  I believe it's more of a mind state sort of thing, where as she'll still enjoy killing and still have that defensive exterior, but she'll be able to open up to Shepard more and hopefully be able to get along with the crew in some state.  I still want her to keep her attitude though, but know that the world can be a bright place. Though it won't be easy getting her to believe that, I think that's the great part about it.

So, it's pretty easy to figure out who Jack doesn't get along with / who she is liable to have a confrontation with...but do you folks figure there are any other crewmembers she gets along with? I kinda wish Mass Effect had random companion conversations while wandering around ala Dragon Age. My ME2 dream team is Jack & Grunt, and I can see the two of them getting along well with each other, as fellow primal warriors. I'd be intrigued to see her casual interactions with others like Tali or Thane.

Something tells me Jack would make fun of Thane's constant thinking about his past and his dead wife. They both had a tragic past, but they handled it in two different ways.

Lol, saw a comic that was part of a contest to make the weirdest pairing ever.

Ka''Reegar at a bar and Jack going, "So, how 'bout it?"

Kal'Reegar: With all due respect 'mam, I'd rather run chased by Varren on Tunchanka without a suit.

Jack: You're only mad Fishbowl vas Normandy won't pop her top.

If only I could find that pic...

It's kind of lame how Kaidan, Thane, and Jack all get flak for being "whiners" just because they talk about their lives and the hardship they had to face. For Jack in particular, it's just an excuse not to like her IMO.

I don't hear people saying the same about Jacob, who actually complains two different times in his individual dialogue alone. People are gaga about how he is all nice to Shepard.

They do realize that Shepard is asking them about their past right?  It's not like they go out of their way to tell everyone about what they went through.  I always found it strange that people thought those particular characters were whining because to me, they were just explaining what they went through, nothing more.  If they conisder that whining, then they might get annoyed easily lol.

My gut reaction is that Jack would get along pretty well with everyone (at least, all the squadmates) on the engineering deck. Grunt and Zaeed are pretty easy to imagine, and I think that once Tali gets over her nervousness, she and Jack would get on well enough. Tali's tough, and due to being a quarian hasn't had an easy life. Jack would respect that.

I don't see her dealing well with anyone else, though.

At one point you can tell Jack she complains too much, and she says something like, "Y'know what, Shepard? You're right. You don't let me get away with this bull****. I like that." Thane also responds maturely to such an accusation. "I have been too introspective lately, I hope to change that."

I've never thought of Jack as a whiner. Someone who does think Jack is a whiner would probably consider that bias, but I've never thought of Thane as a whiner either and I never really liked him at all.

Kaidan does give off the whiner aura though. I'm not sure I could pinpoint exactly why I think that, I just do. My first FemShep dumped him without a second thought because of it. It might be his quiet, soft-spoken voice... not sure... but he seems like a big wet blanket to me.

Generally when people are describing a character as a whiner, it's because they just don't like that character. It's an appellation that doesn't actually fit any of the ME characters.

With Kaidan, I think the biggest problem is that he says "I don't want to sound like I'm whining," which actually makes him sound exactly like he's whining to me. But he's pretty reluctant to share his issue with you, and he makes it clear that he's not looking for a shoulder to cry on, that he'll handle his own problems. I don't think he does as well as he'd like, but I think he tries.

I'm trying to figure out why Jack would stay aboard the Normandy in ME3, if she's romanced then there's that reason, but other than that I guess I'll just have to see what happens.

Normandy Cargo Hold

Shepard: Why are you here Jack?

Jack: Told you, it's dark, quiet, and far away from the ****ing war room you have set up upstairs.

Shepard: That's not what I mean. Why are you here? We're not exactly friends, you can't stand half the people on the ship, and you don't have Cerberus on your back anymore. So why stay?

Jack: You mean other than the free food, and the joy of playing twenty questions with you every week? ****, I don't know what I'm still doing here, could go elsewhere...but the Reapers are blowing everything to hell, and staying here means that we're heading straight towards them. 'Course that keeps things from getting boring...

Shepard: So this is just a pleasure cruise?

Jack: Could be.

Wow, never heard some of those lines, interesting.  I usually stay the neurtral path/renegade path, but I do like the some of paragon routes.  The thing is, I like what the tree says in the dialogue system, but what Shepard actually says sometimes comes off as creepy and not what I expected, so I stick to the other routes.

Wow, I love how Courtenay sounds "Fvcked up or not.. the rest of the galaxy can deal", "Yes Sir, Commander Sir".

The last line too, "Whatever, seriously though, you did something for me and ah, sh!t, I'm not used to saying thanks." I love the way she says it.

Thanks for this, I'm working on my Canon, so this is getting me excited :D

I've only heard Jack say it once, but one of my favorite lines of hers is when you say "I should go" and she's like "Good, I was getting tired of your stupid face."

What's more IIRC, she only starts using that line after she starts to like Shepard. Beforehand it's always just "Yeah!"

Shepard: I should go...
Jack: Good, I was getting tired of your stupid face.
Shepard: You're weird, Jack...
Jack: ...and it kinda gets you off. Yeah, now f*ck off before it's f*ck you!

Kaidan's voice is smooth and rich, like honey. I could listen to his "whining" all day jo.

He probably gets all the girls on shore-leave.

I could sort of see Kaiden and Jack getting along, or at least talking shop about biotics.

Jack: Your an L2 right?

Kaidan: Yeah.

Jack: You ever get really ****ing bad headaches?

Kaidan: Sometimes, it's better than the side-effects some L2's got.

Jack: Ratchet down the flare-up levels on the implants and get yourself a good amp, that stoped my head from feeling like it was going to explode every other week.

Kaidan: I'll have to give that a try. Thanks Jack.

Jack: Don't mention it, nobody deserves to feel that ****ty all the time.

Okay, hold the phone. Dr. Doctor is one of the ME series writers. Has to be. I've read a ton of Fan Fiction, as well as the official Novels/Comics. This dialogue is *Far* closer to the later as opposed to the former in terms of quality. There's no way you're just a run of the mill FF author, sir. I call foul. Come clean with us, you'll feel better.
