So, something I've been thinking about lately.
In Jack's LOTSB documents, in the transcript that shows her being taken from her mother, her mother is identified only as UW. Could be (and probably is)... unidentified woman, but we do know a certain Doctor on Eden Prime with the last name of W...
Dr. Warren. Thank the maker!
>_> Just a random thought. That's reaching back into ME1, though... then again, Admiral Kahoku DID mention Jack in Mass Effect 1, so...
As to what Jack might be up to in Mass Effect 3? Well... I'm not so sure I want her to go find her mother. It kind of sends a strange message, that one can survive hell and all its' demons, but they can't live as a complete human being without making contact with their biological parent. It bothers me, like those kids who after years of happy family life, their parents tell the child that they were adopted, and then the kid goes off on some parent/soul searching quest. There IS a reason their biological parent isn't in their life, usually a good one, and it's probably not as fantastic as, I-was-kidnapped-by-a-pro-human-terrorist-cell-for-the-express-purpose-of-creating-a-biotic-super-soldier.
What purpose could it serve? It would only remind Jack and her mother (and any other family members) that Cerberus had stole whatever chance she'd had to be "normal". I mean, a reunion would probably be emotional, cloyingly so, but the "message" I got from Jack's loyalty mission, dead Aresh or not, was that you can kill the past or put it behind you but either way, it's past.
Proposed situation: Jack seeks out a mother (and family) who...
- may not be alive.
- might be better off not knowing what she's suffered, it being too painful to dredge up old memories.
- who might not accept her, and she, them.
Not to say that the answers to those issues aren't worth finding out, but to do it all for the sake of closure that Jack has already gotten with her past? That's like Jack's loyalty mission, The Remake!
If this is addressed in the next game, I hope there's some other avenues that she can explore aside from this.
