And it is really hard for me to be a jerk, too. I know it's a game, but the curse of a guilty conscience...>_< Also, some of the Renegade choices always seem irrational, or overdramatic. I always reload, shaking my head thinking: "Shepard, you're not a teenager. Think!" Janine is the first Shepard I made who's a Renagon. She's tough and gets things done, but she has a streak of nobility in her. I'm fairly comfortable with her because I sate my need to be nice, but I also get to push guys out of windows.
I like the dialogue choice for that better, however. I always get a smirk on my face.
I hear you, there! Vanessa is just like that (I freaking
love Hale's "bad girl" voice)! Also, mass effect 2 makes it
really difficult to be a renegon (In ME1, you could just allocate points into good/bad, but in ME2, you
have to either be overall good/bad in order to make choices that have the potential to break ME3. Bioware had no love for grey).
Also, I'm with you guys in the "I always have to do 'X' no matter how bad/good my Shepard is." I agree with Phantom that some of the Renegade choices are irrational, overdramatic, and even somewhat childish... not really befitting a hero of the galaxy. I never kill Shiala (seriously wtf, she just helped me and Shepard's gonna just say, "thanks, die"?), I
never kill Wrex (
never, as far as
all my Shepards go, it is not even an option), I always shut down Overlord (at least we get the option to pistol-whip Loghain- er, Gavin in the face), I never let the council die [did it once to see what would happen; reloaded the game immediately. Seriously, passing up a dying ship full of 50,000 people (most of them civilians) when they're being bombarded and hailing you for help is effed up], I always accept Spectre re-instatement (no matter what my Shepard thinks of the Council, having the resources and reputation of a Spectre is very useful), I never never
NEVER kill Samara over Morinth (I kill that murderous, hedonistic psychopath every. single. time. Not even sure why Bioware even made it an option to recruit her), I don't kill the Rachni Queen (it'd just feel wrong. Even my most Renegade Shepard will give her one chance to redeem herself. If the Rachni hadn't learned a valuable lesson by now... well, it will give the Salarians a reason to cure the genophage, won't it?), I
usually make Anderson the Councilor (when it comes down to it, Udina is
not a wartime politician. We need an "Ike" or "Washington" in the Council during the Reaper conflict and, let's face it, Udina's ignorance almost doomed the galaxy... why would I give him another chance? However, I do see the benefit of having Udina in there, so I'll pick him
once on a future Shepard), I never tell the Admirals about Tali's father (I could never be a jerk to Tali), and I
always blow the Collector base to kingdom come (I was doing this even before the info for ME3 was released. Moral reasons aside, I'm not about to give advanced Reaper-building tech to a ruthless zealot that I can't trust as far as I can throw).
Anyway, back to Joker:

Plus...I can't be mean to Joker.
You can see in ME2 how Shepard and Joker have become good friends, or Joker at least really trusts Shepard no matter what. All because you saved his life.
Speaking of which...I don't remember...does Joker ever really thank you for saving him?
No... but we're
hoping and
begging and
crossing our fingers to the breaking point that he
will, which Shepard can ultimately follow up with three well-placed words, a kiss, a tender pre-SM moment and, after the Reapers have been defeated, lots of creaky-legged children!!! <3:O<3
And, Phantom, I agree with you; no matter how corny or cheesy they make the Jokermance dialogue, nothing (and I mean
NOTHING) will
ever top "the
priiiiize." Also, if Bioware can create a romance where you immediately start hitting on a guy after a convo about his dead wife, they can do anything! Lol

*glances up a post*
Less creepy, huh? Rofl, nice fanart! What's in Shepard's mouth?
