What if we got all these 'hints' from twitter wrong and they're actually gonna pair him with EDI? God, if that happens I will CRY.
ME TOO!
I just don't see how anyone can romance a computer. Androids are different, but this is just....blech.
That launches things into the realm of the really, really nerdy, really weird kid that thinks computers are sexy.
Plus, Joker deserves better than an artificial woman...er...disembodied voice.
*eye twitches* Disembodied voice? Ugh. That just...ugh! I think I just threw up in my mouth a little. That makes me hate Joker/EDI even more. Hurp.

You are right, there are some important open questions that have not been answered yet.
I
was wondering about this too - why was he grounded? Only because he did
not leave the ship directly after it was hit? Is it wrong that he tried
to buy the crew time by staying and trying to control the ship? I still
think it is Shepards fault, standing in front of the escape pod and
watching the view instead of jumping in the pod together with Joker.
Ken
and Gaby are telling Shepard in ME2 that the alliance started to
question Shepards findings about the reapers and at least Ken got nearly
fired because he defended Shepard. Maybe something like this happened
to Joker? If people in the alliance that were not even part of Shepards
team believed Shepard and Shepards story, what about the own crew and
squadmates that were part of Shepards missions?
We know that
Joker will be the pilot of the Normandy in ME3 and again part of the
alliance - I would expect some kind of punishment for Joker for joining
Cerberus so willingly just to be pilot again. Unless there is more to it
- maybe Joker was secretly giving information to the alliance? But I
can't imagine that Cerberus/TIM would not know about this.
I can imagine Joker going ape-**** after the Council and the Alliance dismissed Shepard's claims. Angry Joker...that would be scary. It's the non-socibal ones you need to watch out for - they watch people, and whoever becomes thier friend they protect like an overprotective Edward Cullen. After his outburst, Joker most likely would have been declared unfit for duty and grounded. And his outburst would have been noticed by TIM as well (like Ken's), and correspondence ensued.
Garrus would have gone nuts, too; probably right up there with Joker. Wrex would have shot at the Alliance/Council and left. Tali would have risen hell. Kaidan/Ash would have defended Shepard, but they're under the Alliance's heel, and would have backed off after some ground time. Liara would be in denial, and later be contacted by Cerberus to retrieve Shepard's body.
And I doubt Joker would have accepted TIMs offer so readily. Joker knew what Cerberus has done. TIM would have to offer something big aside from upgrades for his legs. Maybe he said that they were after the Reapers as well, and took Shepard's warnings seriously. That would have gotten Joker's butt in gear.
Or it could be that Joker was with Cerberus all along. TIM could have noticed that Joker pushed himself above everyone else. I believe TIM is a sort of human collector - whoever is the
best, TIM wants for his cause.
I can't wait for the trial, personally.
