Have you ever considered the possibility that Joker could be talking French all the time since everybody has a translator? I'd assume the device contain all human languages as well as alien ones.
Well, you may object that when you're carefully lip reading, you can tell that he's speaking English, but animated facial expressions can be interpreted in many ways, right?
Yeah, I know I'm a bit disillusioned, but you can't stop a girl from dreaming

Something I've noticed is a lot of people on BSN are really pissed at Joker in ME2 cause of how Shep died =S
And this is what I don't understand - as if it was Jokers fault that there was a collector attack.
I think for a person like a pilot where everything is about control it must be really hard to lose control over a machine and to accept that there is nothing that you can do anymore. As much as Joker loves to be a pilot and maybe the Normandy, I think he would not commit suicide and go down with the ship - if he survives than he can fly a different ship, maybe even a better ship. I suppose he had the problem to accept that he cannot do anything to rescue the ship and Shepard had to remind him.
But there was time enough for both Shepard and Joker to get to the escape pod. All that Shepard had to do was getting in the pod together with Joker, not placing Joker in the pod, standing in front of the pod and watching how the collectors continue to destroy the ship. It was Shepards own fault and not Jokers fault that got Shepard killed.
If people don't want to accept this they should blame the writers but not Joker - he did not asked Shepard to come back for him. Maybe he could at least control some parts of the Normandy e.g. the anti-fire systems or whatever and help to stabilize the ship so that the crew could escape.

I wonder, if when grounded and feeling frustrated/angry/lost, he resented Shepard for saving him.

I wouldn't necessarily hold my breath on Joker being able to speak French, mostly coming from what we know about him: A spacer kid raised under the Systems Alliance, the language of which seems to be predominantly English (although, if either of his parents could speak it, he could probably pick it up). Joker possibly being French-Canadian is an interesting concept. Moreau is certainly a French surname. I personally always envisioned him being of Cajun descent...
Oh, Bioware is going to have to bring up Joker's reaction to Shepard getting spaced in ME3. I don't see why they should abandon it. Maybe (and I'm grasping that those epic straws, again) they chose not to address it in ME2 because they were saving it for a personal (and maybe, just maybe an intimate) encounter in ME3 (they stated that there would be more detailed interaction with crew in the next game). I'm playing through ME1 and it's sad how little interaction can be had with you crew (out of all of them, Joker has the most dialogue). It's hard to feel sorry for Pressly in the beginning of ME2 because all we knew about him was that he was the Normandy's navigator, a few small bits of his service history, and that he doesn't trust aliens (until near the end as his diary reveals). Crew interaction is improved in ME2 but from what I'm hearing about ME3, Bioware is going to improve on it even more in the next game (let's hope so, yes?).
And yeah, all of the animosity towards Joker reminds me of the animosity people have toward Ashley. They always use the "she's racist" card just as they are always using the "you'll break his bones" or "he's with EDI" card with us.
Oh well, you know what they say:

It would be good to address it because people seem to have a problem with it. I always imagined that Joker and Shepard talked about everything after they met - I don't think that the Normandy was ready after one day and that they had to wait some days or weeks until the work on the ship was finished.
But it would be nice to include the player so that our Shepards can talk with Joker about what happened and our feelings.

I want a Jokermance option, but I doubt it'll happen. Not because of his disease, I don't think that would be a problem, but a different reason entirely. The majority of the time, the comic relief character doesn't end up with anyone. It's like, one of the laws of comedy. There are a rare few occasions, but most of the time, the comic relief character stays single.

Wash!? Snarky pilot and was married! No, no, NO! Sacrificial Lion. Not an option, not an option!
House? Disabled snarker and the source of most comic relief on the show. No! Both women he ever fell in love with left him! Again *deep sniff* not an option!
*hangs head silently for a few seconds*
DONKEY! Donkey from Shrek! He fell in love, yes? Granted, it was with a dragon, but it counts! It counts! And they remained together and alive throughout the saga! What do I win?
Edit: Forgot to mention Scrubs... then again, everyone is in some way the Plucky Comic Relief Character in that show... not sure if it counts. I'm sure the other Jokerites could come up with some examples, just know that I thought of the Donkey Exception, first! Lol
Edit of Edit: I know you said most comic relief characters c- ... c-caa... caaannnnnnoooo... (sorry, I won't say/type that word when referring to a Jokermance) be romanced... just trying to strengthen the case for it!

Nope. Character from comedies don't count.
Let's see:
Lancelot-Merchant of Venice, Ben Finn- Fable 3, Jar Jar- Star Wars, C3PO- Star Wars, Dobby- Harry Potter, Calcifer- Howl's Moving Castle, and I don't feel like naming anymore.
Like I said, there are exceptions, but most of the time they don't end up with anyone. Not to mention Bioware always makes aspects of their games somewhat clichéd.

Emm let me see... Jar Jar didin't have that much screen time to know if he had someone, C3PO was a ROBOT, and Calcifer was fire ball so those do not count too ;]

Hmmm.... Well yes, Joker is the comic guy. But I'm hoping that BioWare feels that there is enough of a story between them for a romance-arc to work. They have several things in common, but they there is also the fact that Shepard died and the Vrolik. I'm hoping that the later two will be the, well you know. The interesting thing to overcome for the boy-meets-girl-scenario to work out. There has to be some reason for why they haven't hooked up already. Vrolik isn't a problem but maybe that would make Joker shy about the whole thing. That could be the basis for some really great dialogue. Guess we will just have to wait and see...... yay for another six months.
Back to the SM. Garrus died when I played last so after a little forum-reading it's back to do it the right way. Already have one save without Garrus and Tali for science. That's quite enough.

Focus more on my second comment. When does the comic relief character EVER end up with the MAIN CHARACTER?!?!
@Silent ! *raises hand* Oooh! Oooh! Oooh! Pick me! Pick me! Okay, umm... Maybe it's because Shepard's pretty much his boss. I realize you could say the same about Kaiden and Ashley, but Joker has been working under Shepard for a LONG time. Though if they did have a romance, that would be an interesting explanation as to why nothing ever happened between them in 8 freaking years.
I love Joker and hope he's a romance option; I just HIGHLY doubt it.
Good day ser.

Calcifer is still a demon, and demons can end up with other demons. Then they have demon babies. It's basic science... Yeah, dude, you and me should probably lay off the anime and manga... I only happens in anime and manga... -.-
@cpt. Jane. I suppose you could call Alistair a comic relief character in the beginning, but then he gets all serious and is no fun.

I was being sarcastic about the demon baby thing, but hey, if you want names, I blame her! She told me that's what happens! *points to Rumiko Takahashi*
Third time today someone has taken me too seriously. Sigh.

Calcifer was a demon, thank you very much. That is my favorite book so i am sure. If they didn't tell, we assume he didn't. Jar Jar isn't capable of getting a girl. As for C3, how dare you! Robots can love too!!!

Since when was it 8 years? The last I checked it all started on the Normany SR-1 and that was in 2183 C.E. and Mass Effect 2 is played out in the year of 2185 C.E. I mean is there something I am missing here?
