See, I would want to scope these forums come March 6th to see if Joker is an LI, but I just do NOT want to be spoiled. I'll go through the forum and I KNOW I'll see posts akin to "OHH MY GOSH, I CAN'T BELIEVE THEY KILLED X" or "OHH MY GOSH, X DIED" or "OHH MY GOSH, THAT ENDING WAS AWESOME" or "OHH MY GOSH, I CAN'T BELIEVE THE REAPERS WERE DEFEATED BY X" or "OHH MY GOSH, I CAN'T BELIEVE THE REAPERS ARE X." I accidentally found out Shepard got rebuilt by Cerberus in the second game and that Garrus would be returning as a surprise squadmate while I was still playing the first game (I wanted to see Ashley's cameo, what can I say?), I am NOT letting it happen again! Also, I looked up the SM guide before the fact because my friend told me squaddies could get killed and I didn't want to mess up... Anyway, I don't trust BSN users (present company excluded, of course. You fellow Jokerites are my safe zone) enough to scroll through the forum just to see if Joker is an LI. Can I count on one of you to throw me a PM ONLY telling me if Joker is a romance or not? Because the first Shepard going through ME3 WILL be my main, regardless (sorry folks. I want to see Shepley-babies just as much as I want to see Shoker-babies).

Judging by how long it takes even the most hardcore of gamers to burn through both games, I can assume we'll get LI info within about 12-20 hours after launch... maybe earlier if people get their amazon pre-orders delivered early.

Well, I agree that this is a bit of a mood-killer when you're playing a new game. I played both ME and ME2 blind, I had only heard wispers of Virmire being a bad place but didn't actually know what was going to happen. That was such a big moment for me so yes, I really wouldn't like to know too much in advance. Didn't know that Shep would die in advance. It makes a difference. Hmmmm....  I will probably avoid the forum until I get the game in my hands, then I'll check Joker-status, hoping that someone has gotten that far in-game. But 3 days after release it shouldn't be a problem. After that, isolation until one PT is finished    =)

Welcome Oligo696      =)    this is a nice little corner of the forum so please join us

Great to hear from real life that OI and relationship works just fine in real life. And I quite agree, a hubby that makes you laugh is wonderful, humor is great to have in a relationship. When march fiiinally comes around and it turns out that Joker is a LI, well, I'll be jumping up and down with joy pretty much.

Yes, I suppose you do

Although, I was taken aback by the ammount of time some of you have put in to researching OI, I don't really think you need me for backup xD (And yes I gone through all of the pages in this thread xD It's taken me a while - else I would have commented earlier :P)

And, please, don't mind me if I get riled up over the "You'll break his pelvis" - I'll keep it off this thread if I do, the last thing I want to do is feed the trolls xD

EDIT: Moving away from the OI - I'm surprised Joker wasn't an LI, he has one of the best personalities in the whole game, my husband introduced me to the game while he was playing it, and it pretty much went:

Me: When can I get into his pants? *points to pilot*
Husband: You can't...
Me: :o

And that was before I even knew he had OI.

Yeah, my husband made me play 2 first... I don't really know why - I think he prefers 1.

@Silent, yeah I played both games through blind. Didn't know anything about anything. The only time I looked anything up was to find out who I needed to send where on the suicide mission. This is actually the first ME game that I am craving to find out all I can before it comes out. lol I don't want the story to be ruined for me, but I do not want to know certain little things here and there.

Once the game comes out I will be staying off the forums till I am done with my first play through.

@Oligo, yeah you defiantly do not want to feed the trolls, but that is so funny about your reaction to Joker not being a LI. hehehe

Hello there.
I've just started browsing through the ME3 forums, and I can't say how glad I am I found this place.
It's going to seem like a complete farce, but my husband actually has OI... and yes we have consummated our marriage successfully without any broken bones ;)
He has type one, thankfully, which means his bones do fracture quite easily and he has loose joints but he isn't in any type of mortal danger.   I'm not sure if Joker has been typed, and if he has what type he has but... I imagine it to be quite similar.
He can move around the house no trouble, but if we're walking for more than half an hour I make sure he has his crutches - as a precaution, and he's had surgery to insert metal into his leg bones.
I was over the moon when I found out there was a character with OI in Mass Effect (it was actually the reason my husband bought the game :P)

Anyway, just thought I'd pop in and say that - I'll probably stick around, too, if you'll have me :P

Apart from the OI, my husband and Joker don't really have much in common apart from the ability to make me laugh, and anyone who can make me laugh is aces in my book xD
I will be overjoyed if he's an LI <3

EDIT: Also, with Joker's "upgrades" it'll make it even easier :D

You may have the whole plate of cookies! Welcome, we most definitely will be fortunate to have someone who actually has a husband who has OI.

I always figured Joker was type II, with more advanced medical care available to him, since he says that in our time period he wouldn't have lasted past his first year. But beyond type II, you start getting into more bone deformities, which he doesn't have. For whatever that analysis is worth, since I'm not a doctor, there it is. I can be the queen of speculation. XD

Welcome aboard!

Ah, welcome to our thread, Oligo!  It's so nice to have someone who is knowledgeable of OI in a practical & life setting and a Jokermance hopeful to boot!

And my hat's off to you for reading the thread in its entirety! I think you're going to fit in just fine here! :D

Ohh, don't worry about trolls. We don't feed them. We hook them, bring them into the boat and then club them with funny gifs, images (which may or may not have something to do with cats or owls), and appropriate Youtube links!

Plus, those people don't stick around too long. They usually give us a drive-by trolling and leave. I was nervous that one time we attracted Zeely, but thankfully he didn't stick around (and I'm pretty sure he's been kick-banned). So yeah, we'll be here to defend you and Joker. And join in on the festivities should a troll drop by; they're a source of great entertainment! :)

As to the type of OI Joker has, I'm not really sure. It probably is Type II since in ME1, Joker commented on him not being able to survive the birthing process if not for modern medicine. However, we know he's been "upgraded" by Cerberus since ME1, so his bones are most likely stronger since his time in the Alliance.

Anyway, once again, welcome! Help yourself to many, many, many, many, many, many REESE'S PIECES!!!

Moderate to Severe is what Joker says in relation to his condition. They don't give a specific type.

I just went and watched Shep die at the end of the game. The emotion that Joker shows is so...so...I don't know what the word is for it. I also like to read into things, so I thought it was sweet and sad.

And don't worry. A lot of us get riled up over trolls - we try to be calm about it, but when the same argument of "you'll break him" comes along, we kinda lose it. XD I don't think they realize it's insulting to those who have OI...or they do realize it, and they don't care. : \\ *sighs* Evil trolls, return to your bridges! *shakes fist*

I myself never thought of Joker as an LI until I stumbled across the thread in the ME2 forums a few months ago. I was hooked after reading all the reasons though. Funny? cocky? Scruffy? Pretty green eyes? Awesome pilot? Great friend? WHY didn't I think of it before?! :o Now I'm hoping for the best...but preparing for the worst.

I hope BioWare understands Joker has a huge fanbase. And not just because of Seth Green like some people think. Any guy that can make a gal laugh is instantly desired...even if he's just a bunch of pixles.

Gyaa! I put 8 down? Damn it! Sorry, I meant 4. Here's some advice: never get an iPad. You CAN'T type in them. One time I looked up Tali and the dumb iPad put in Taliban. So, yeah, I meant 4 years, but this iPad is evil. It would've been 6 years, but then Shepard had to go and die for 2 years. 6-2=4 I heard ME3 will take place 6 years after the original. And I don't mean how long they've known each other, I mean when Shepard became a Spectre.
Edit: 3, maybe 4 years top. That's the last time I listen to my brother when he insists on correcting my math. I passed first grade thank you very much.

@Experimentel I never really thought of Alistair as the comic relief character. Though I suppose you're right; I shouldn't be comparing movies to video games. Still, thanks for knowing what I meant. I don't know, I'm sort of a pessimist, which I suppose is the real reasons behind my comment. Sorry, I'll just drop it now. I'll keep any pessimistic comments in my head, and just keep fangirling with the rest of you about Joker, lol. ;)

Lol math. Wai you eat my face I'll never know.

Anyway, I feel your pain and will continue fangirling like usual. I give you the imaginary cookie to cheer you up <3

You know a shirt in the design of the ME1 alliance uniform would be great or for the pro-cerberus people a cerberus crew uniform-shirt. Additionally Jokers hat in the alliance design. I suppose I am not the only one who would buy such a shirt. And with all the cosplayers out there Bioware could really start a Mass Effect live roleplaying game event (larp).

If we don't get a Joker shirt we could make our own - there are shops where you can take your favourite picture and they print it on a cup or shirt or whatever.

I am really curious if they have changed the alliance uniform design or if it will be the same as in ME1. A screenshot with Joker in ME3 would be great but Bioware is really teasing us... I mean, we already know that Joker will be the pilot in ME3 and all the squadmates of ME2 will be in ME3 if they survived ME2, so they could show us some screenshots of different people without spoiling to much.

Im willing to accept at least that, but i was hoping for a Miranda x MShep type moment in the core... joker in the place of Miranda of course

As for the pic, he's doing his best Udina impression.

What I find funny is the fact that if you look the Bioware store. The joker hat is completely sold out. I want to buy another one, but I can't because they are out of stock. This truly made me hopeful that people really bought into joker and the fact we might just get ourselves and femshep some joker loving. I find this to be particular good news. Now only if I could get a joker shirt I would be happy.

I've got a question if Bioware were to make a joker shirt what logo and type of picture would you want on it?

I would want it to have jokers in the chair with a smart grin and on the back it would says "Best damn Pilot in the galaxy.":wizard:

@tooneyman I think the back should say "I have to spend all day computing pi because HE plugged in the overlord" or maybe that's more appropriate to have on an Edi shirt. Though I do like "Best damn pilot in the galaxy"

If you ask me I think Joker would make a great LI. So what if he has vroliks syndrome. That doesn't mean he can't find someone that makes him :DHappy.:D Shepard and Joker have been through plenty together. They saved each others lives many times. I hope that convinced the none believers. :wizard:    Even if you could romance joker I personally wouldn't because I'm in love with <3Kaidan<3:wub:. But still I think it's a good idea.

Personally, I'd like the entire quote on  the shirt. I'd wear it XP

Also, I found out that my college has spring break falls from the 3-11 of March. I think it's a sign to stay inside my dorm and play nothing but ME3 instead of go to Florida XDDDD
