Don't worry Omega, I can really see the difference
Dunno if this has been asked before but does anyone think that Joker would be slightly worried about getting involved with Shep because of his condition?
Like in the way that Garrus says Shep can always look for someone closer to home?
* want the short answer, go to the very end. XD
I've wondered that too. Now, I'm trying to put myself in Joker's shoes at this point. I have been judged just because I have ADD - I'm apparently mentally disabled in school records, and teachers don't want to bother with me sometimes - and it's just a minor case. I was very defensive when people brought it up because I did not want to explain it for the millionth time, and I avoided classmates like they had the plague because I did not want to get hurt. They always told me it would be hard for me to get into college just because I had ADD - I was held back from the beginning. Sort of like Joker.
Joker is very defensive when it come to his condition - we all know this from ME when you ask him how he's doing, and he jumps all down your throat thinking you're going to question his capabilities. He's tired of people thinking he can't do anything. So, when Shepard show she has faith in him, Joker warms up to her a little more. At the end of the game when you are going to Illos, instead of his usual: "what is it" or "whatever you want commander", he says "need something?" like he's open to helping her. (Of course we're talking about M!Shep too, I'm just used to referring to Shepard as a "her"). Still, Joker opens up to Shepard little by little because she doesn't seem to care about his condition - Joker likes anyone who doesn't seem him as the guy with the creaky legs...or even talks about it. It's hard to gain his trust, he doesn't even start to openly like you until the very end of ME, and y'all are best friends in ME2.
He is a very proud man. He doesn't see himself as limited in any way because he is rebeling against those who said he was. He's cocky enough to border on arrogance, and his sarcasm can be annoying to some. But that's just a barrier Joker has put around himself for protection. He's like an onion. Peel off the layers, they'll make you cry because he's just as scarred and hurt from the teasing, insults, and lack of faith from his peers. He's probably had a few girlfriends, but they teased him behind his back, or they dated him out of pity, or women just plain avoided him. So, say if Joker and Shepard got together, a small voice at the back of Joker's mind would constantly question Shepard's reason for being with him. And I suppose like Garrus, he'd want everything to go right especially if he really likes Shepard - which is my theory anyways. So, Joker probably would worry about his condition while he was with Shepard\\..only because of what she would think about having to take precautions in being with him. When they're deeper in the relationship, and he's not afraid to be a little vulnerbale, he'd ask her if she was sure and tell her he wouldn't blame her for wanting to leave. This may be one of the only times he hates his disease because it is to blame for nearly everything wrong in his life.
* In short...yes, I do believe he would be concerned.
Anyway, enjoy my exhausting wall of text!
EDIT: yes, i have the top again!
