Quoting SennenScale back on page 4...

Joker's dialogue wheel:

              Dinner<---        --->Flirt back
Investigate<---                  --->Babble Incoherently
Feel Indignant<---         --->Break Arm at Shepard?

I think he would probobly break his arm at him Image IPB

No, they can't. The dectractors can only list opinions, and opinions are subjective and respective -- respectively -- Thus the reason that there can be no reasons not to have a Jokermance.

But I don't wish to break Joker's bones... :(

He's too awesome to deserve that fate.

Other than the high probability of breaking Joker's bones, there's no other reason to not make Joker romanceable.

Why do people always gravitate to that though? It's like... Man... Humans have more than just a stop/go button for that kind of stuff. You know, you can lightly take someone's hand instead of grabbing it with crushing deathfingers -- that applies to all kinds of physical interactions just sayin'. :D

Thanks, FlamingFlyingV and PhantomDragoness! I love this thread and its awesome denizens/occasionally-emerging-lurkers, so I'm glad to hear that it shows. :) I wish I could post more, but this is exam month for me.

And a humble thanks to everyone using my banners! You should see me bounce in my chair whenever I see one in a signature of somebody who's not me. Seriously, I get that dorky-happy. It's kinda sad.  Just to prove that I love you people, here's one more--I think it's another of those tired arguments that we hear far more than we'd like to, so here's a handy rebuttal:

Loved your screenshots, SilentK!

..."that's because in the back of your mind, you keep comparing everyone you date to the awesome creature that
is me. It's not fair to normal people, they just can't compete." It would be a perfect opening for Shepard to hint in the direction of actually agreeing with that statement in a way.

Oh, this. Please. I can imagine this perfectly. Shepard could tease him back. Say something of the lines that maybe he's right. The look I imagine on Joker's face afterward would make me keel over in laughter.

"Wait, what? Really?" He'd have that sort of googly eyed shocked-hopeful look for a split second, before clearing his throat, and going "Good one, Commander." And then she'd give him a look, and walk away.

Oh, I would love that! Seeing a bashful Joker unable to deal with unexpected compliments would make my day. So cute. *sigh* It must happen!

phantomdragoness wrote...

Joker and Shepard purely
platonic? Eh...I can kinda see that, but there is just too much
chemistry to overlook. Varric and Hawke now, they are a good definition
of a platonic relationship. But if BioWare decided on a Varric romance
in DA3, I wouldn't complain. XP

Yeah, exactly! I love Varric as he is, but... why not? I'm not going to complain if they make it possible for him to be romanced. It'd just give me an excuse to play a different type of character and see the content. And if I really couldn't think of him that way, it still wouldn't make me stop enjoying the platonic relationship my characters had with him.

Anyone else notice our thread has more pages than Tali's?

Haha, sweet! For once we are NOT trailing in the dust. I would like to order a round of high-fives!

Don't feel bad. Shepard's 'raep faic' scares everyone. Everyone without vision problems and no sense of terrible, terrible danger, that is.

I
don't like Thane, but I'm not raging out saying he should DIE SO DEAD
IT'S DEAD SERIOUS HOW DEAD HE IS or something. I hope people who love
Thane get their ending with him. c:

Me, too. I wished he'd been done differently than he was, I would've liked him more, but it doesn't mean I don't respect those who loved everything about him and their desire to have their Shepard stay with him.

I don't get it, either. :/

*staring at waggling fingers*

...

Sorry, what was that? XD

I am absolutely LOVING that we are getting more support here! It seems only yesterday I found the ME2 Joker thread, where there were only a couple posts a day. Now look! *sniffles* I'm so proud...

"It's dead serious how dead he is". *snorts* That's a seriously black joke, Sorrel. *anyone who gets that reference gets a cookie* XD

But I don't get it either. People over react when others don't agree with them, it's silly. I mean, sure I can understand if you're sticking up for yourself when you're being surrounded, and stating your opinion; but when you start insulting people for liking something, and flipping tables, then someone needs to lick a drell and chill the **** out. The world doesn't revolve around you, Johnny Bravo. You're not going to get laid any faster when you're being an ass about your opinion.

People would come on the Anders thread asking why we liked a crazy apostate, and all of us would state our reasons calmly because we had good reasons; and the person(s) who disliked Anders had good reasons as well. All of us would part ways after the discussion, happy and calm. If you have good reasons backing up your argument, then by all means come in here and we will be HAPPY to convert - I mean - DISCUSS the topic with you. Otherwise, if your reason is "hurr hurr you'll break his bones derp" turn around and don't let the door break your ass on the way out. XD j/k

Have y'all seen the early concept art for Thane? In my opinion, he would have been a LOT more interesting if BioWare had kept that design. Maybe even a little colder like they protrayed him in the ME2 trailer. But just because I do not like him as much as I originally thought, it doesn't mean I don't want things to work out for the Sheps who do love him. I was sad for the Varric-lovers when that news came out because I know how much they wanted the romance. He was still an awesome character, and after playing through DA2, I wouldn't have minded a romance. But having a companion not lusting after Hawke was nice.

In Joker's original concept art, BioWare made him appear more ill because of his condition. That would have been pretty interesting! However, Joker is in the army and the Alliance probably would want him in top shape. And being as cocky as he is, Joker would have wanted some muscle I think to prove that his condition would not bring him down. At least that's how I see it. Thoughts?

I completely agree, like how Joker is very touchy about his condition he would want to look like he was fine so people wouldn't ask? if that makes any sense:lol:

I've had a crush on Seth Green since his Oz(BuffyTVS) days. But it wasn't until I joined the forums I discovered he was Joker's voice actor. It was obviously once I knew but I had no clue prior. Not even a 'huh he sounds familiar.'

Same! But, I knew it was him playing Joker just because I've seen a ton of movies with him in it and well, he just has that distinctive voice. >_> I love his voice.

I have tried starting new femsheps, I really have, but I've just grown sooo attached to my lanah (profile pic) that I *can't.*

She romanced Kaidan in ME1, but Legion was the only one to die in my SM in ME2 so I need to do another playthrough, I *did* romance Thane but i won't be using that playthrough.

If I have to I will dump Kaidan for Joker, but if the only option to romance Joker means you have to be single for the first games I'll just use the Gibbs editor to undo the romance with Kaidan.

Maybe I'm weird but I feel so unattached to all my other femsheps, does anyone else feel this way about one of their particular femsheps?

I reckon Lanah would be awesome for Joker anyway, they have developed a good rapport, especially in my fanfic (which I *really* need to update lol!)

Coming out of lurkerdom to, yet again, proclaim my undying love of Joker and him being a romance options, and offering my firstborn child should it be implemented.

I've wanted Joker to be an option from the get-go. I was really hopeful for the last game, so I'm a little hesitant this time around. Granted, give me a month or two and I'll be perking right up. Heck, I'm playing through a romance-less file should we be so lucky, so I'm not completely broken of the idea.

Two things I want in a Joker romance would be: a) snark and humor a big part of it, and B) that Shepard and Joker talk about how Joker felt about Shepard's death, and if he felt responsible.

@SilentK, my crystal ball says that Joker
will be romancable in ME3, so it must be true. And yes, I succumbed my
soul to dark magic to get that answer XD

You got a crystal ball that works!! That's so cool    =)   we must come up with more interesting questions for it. What did Joker do during the time when Shep was dead? How was he contacted by Cerberus? Did anyone from the old crew of SR1 ( Kaidan/Ash, Tali, Garrus, Wrex) blame him for Shep's death...... Is it only 1 question per soul that goes over to dark side or what is the fine print?

Yes! The whole point is to show affection and be close to one another. This could actually be a very very romantic romance scene   =)   I have hopes for it! There are no problems for Joker to have a physical relationship, just be a little gentle.

I don't think that there is any point in being irritated at getting that q in this thread from people who don't come here very often. Not everyone will be up to date on the latest things concerning Joker. I guess we'll just politely say that he's much stronger in ME2 than in ME and that as Sorrel say, there are more than one way to party-pants    =)

One good thing about a Joker romance: No invasive PA from the bridge telling us that we’re nearing the Mu/Omega Relay OR that Captain Anderson wants to meet us at the Citadel… unless EDI is going to pick up the slack in that department…

Actually, that would make for some funny dialogue!

I've never seen the original concept art, but I wouldn't complain if he looked more ill, to be honest. Not everybody has to have a perfect body model. Or maybe it's just me, I'm such a sucker for skinny guys Image IPB However, I find your analysis of Joker's motives for looking fit quite accurate.

Oh, I have a celebrity crush on Seth Green Image IPB His voice acting is without a doubt huge part of Joker's charm.

@SilentK, all good questions! I do wonder about it, myself. Joker said that he was grounded after Shepard's death. My theory is that Cerberus kept an eye on him (because of his mad skills) when he still was with the Alliance, so when he was dropped, Cerberus quickly approached him with the unresistable offer.

Edit: spelling
