It would be very difficult in deed. But this is a important part of the romance-arc. You can hit on them, and you can leave them. Hmmm... I have this feeling that one of the reasons for Joker not being a LI in ME2 was because he was not meant to be able to get into that kind of conflict with Shepard and he is very much needed to fly the Normandy. So how will this be solved? If Shepard leaves Joker, what will make him stay on the Normandy and fly the plane? We need him to fly the plane, but for him to be a LI there will be most likely be a option to dump him.

I start thinking about weird things when writing reports.

Oh...oh don't even suggest...ohhh...no! No, I will not imagine it! It's just...too...horrible! I turned away Garrus ONCE just to see what happened and my heart was BROKEN when his voice cracked! Can you just imagine Joker's expression?! His...his eyes?! Imagine him pouting! NO! I will not even think of dumping him! NEVARRR. *grabs Joker and holds him against bosom*

Okay, in all seriousness, Joker said he'd never date crew and probably for a good reason - emotions can get in the way of a job. If M!Shep romances Ashley, he will most likely save her on Virmire. HOWEVER, that is against regs. Shepard should have saved Kaidan, a commanding officer. Emotions got in the way of rules. 

If Shepard goes out with Joker, then - hypothetically because we'd NEVER do it - dumps him, emotions would be crazy. When someone like Joker plugs up his emotions, then something horrible happens, things tend to...well...go downhill. Sharply. With a job like Joker's, he can possibly put his emotions aside because he needs to focus; but alone...run like hell.

@ Omega Torsk    Awww... now I remember   =)  jupp. That was just as painful as I imagined that it would be. Hmm... what would the "you cheated on me"-dialog be. Or... that might just be too painful really

@ Phantom     yes, I could see him handling the job but having difficulties handling it on the private side. Now, that would be one very very painful FemShep to play.

Yeah, breaking up with him would be horrible. Joker keeps his emotions pent-up enough as it is. For him to spill them out onto someone only for that same someone to turn him down? Catastrophic. You should get a "Critical Mission Failure" for even doing it!

what dyu think Kaidans reaction would be if you left him for Joker in ME3?
I can see him being kinda nice about it... like just covering up his real feelings on the matter.

hmmm... and i thought the bioware devs spelt Kaidans name wrong lol

Kaidan would be as he was about the Liara triangle, he'll just get on with it, without revealing his true feelings. But the normandy would feel awfully awkward

I save Kaidan depending on my Shepard's feelings, or how I want the story to unfold. I save the pair, or leave them about equally though. I have eight Shepards now, and out of them, Kaidan is saved four times, and Ashley is saved four times. One of my Shepards is strict with regs, so she saved Kaidan since he's a commanding officer. Another Shepard lost her entire family on Mindior, and kinda adopted Ashley as a sister - so, she saved Ashely. Naturally, my two Shepard's who romanced Kaidan saved him and left Ashley back on Virmire.

Like Ash, she kind of tries to keep the "feminine mystique" thing going, but sort of flubs it in the last line of the e-mail: "Just stay alive out there... Skipper. I don't know what the future holds, but I can't lose you a second time." I love you too, Ash! *hugs her* It's okay... I forgives your for what was said on Horizon!

As a Kaidan girl i do feel a little compelled to defend him here - in that he always leaves himself a way out - so I think that was very in character, so he may have well wanted to tell shep he loves her but didnt want to get himself trapped so tp speak if she moved on! I have many issues about how the VS reunion was handeled (mostly sheps complete inability to explain anything). I think Kaidan would be heartbroken but not show it by putting on a happy front. I do have a shep who is planning to do thins but not sure i will be able to follow though with it as I will feel bad and nesides Joker already has 2 sheps madly in love with him and who have (or still are) waiting patiently!

As to Ash well she is dead for 8 of my sheps and alive for one (for science) never been a fan of her tbh!

And @Omega - you ant beat the femshep/joker boobs conversation:)

I normally always save Ashley and only saved Kaidan once (cause Isi Shepard was romancing him)
and after Virmire and the letter I was like *raaaage*
Anyhows my Joker Shep has been single the whole time for him no leaving or cheating for her

Oof, when I romanced Kaiden and saw that latter and the discussion on Horizon, I thought he'd at least be understanding because, like, well, umm, I DID save his life!
I might have to dump him for Joker depending on how he acts in ME3 (dun dun duuuun!)
(I just finished a ME2 playthrough and I am exhausted, I can't go through both games again...maybe I'll wait until after ME3 and see is Joker is avaliable :3)

I think Kaidan was understandably confused, and given the odd situation he simply didnt know how to deal with it.
I mean your beau dies, then two years later theyre resurrected and working for terrorists. There isnt an 'appropriate' way to behave in that situation, and i doubt anyone could really claim to have acted better. He was so clearly wounded. He was obviously sorry in the email, and i know i'd forgive him in a heart beat after all that distance!

I cant play ME again, played it too much, even though im modding the crap out of it. Maybe next year in preparation

I am on my 7th full playthrough. Halfway through ME2 on my PC Jokermance Femshep. Gonna do two more full playthroughs. One, a PC Ruthless/Colonist Paragade Talimancer and the other an X-Box War Hero/Earthborn Renegade Mirimancer. Then, two partial playthroughs on my X-Box (ME2 reloads) and then wait for ME3 to come out. The last of those reloads will be played at least a week before ME3 comes out (X-Box 360 test run). I don't want to wait an X amount of months for ME3 only for my X-Box to RROD immediately after starting the one game I've ever been excited enough about to literally count the months. I'm setting up an emergency fund of $200, though. If that happens, f*** sending it to Microsoft a second time, I'm driving down to Wal-Mart like a boss (in the middle of the night) and buying a Slim... all for one game... like a boss.
But here's hoping I don't have to do that. My X-Box has been running fine since I got it back over a year ago.

But anyway, getting really tired of playing through ME1. It almost feels like a chore at times due to how smooth and linear they made ME2. Bioware, you spoil me!

And damn, we're dedicated to our Shepard's, aren't we? Since I found out I could mod my Xbox, I'm not playing through ME for a long...long...long time. That game is exhausting! I tried so hard, and got through three playthroughs in a week. Now I'm saying **** that and I'm modding my ME2 game so it looks like I played ME - besides, it's easier to do some renegade things I find difficult to do in ME. Just have to check a little box.

Did you kill the Rachni Queen? [ X ]
Did you kill the Council? [ X ]
Did you push Garrus towards Spectre? [ _ ]

Um...let me get back to you on that. XD

Yeah I got really tired of playing through ME1 so I have one perfect playthrough that I just use for ME2 and use Gibbed's save editor to change the name and stuff
I am honestly considering taking a weeks holiday from work to play ME3 (bad I know xD)

Second of all, if it wasn't for Shiala, I would've bought Genesis a looooong time ago... but I really want to see what happens to her character in ME3 (and she's not one of the choices in Genesis), so I'm kind of stuck doing things the old-fashioned way... Man, I'm glad they got rid of the stockpile of armors and endless mods in ME2...

Anyway, off to work I go! Have a good day, all!

I cant use the comic - I have quite a case of OCD when it comes to Mass Effect - making sure all side mission are done etc just incase cameo's come back or they end up being important - I have been playing on casual though so its not been taking me very long, especially after so many playthroughs its down to a fine art lol!! 

@phantom - yes we are a dedicated bunch - I have a bot of a mental block when it comes to 'cheating', I just cant bring any of my sheps to do it as they are all madly in love with one person! Although I have to say doing my Jokermance pt's and my m/m sheps where hardest as they have had no love yet - makes me a little sad but the priiiizzze (as jocob would say) :wub:
