All caps? You need to chill. 

First off they did not break almost all the rules of death note in the anime. 

And the ending was **** in the manga. "Oh I prefectly replicated the DN in one night so that Mikami who is obsessive and compulsive and would notice a hair out of place somehow didn't notice." is idiotic. The "obsessive Mikami suddenly does a 180 and betrays light" was idiotic. The only thing that made that sensible was Matusuda's "Oh Near must've wrote Mikami's name in the death note." which would explain why he only held the fake one up and burned the real one before anyone else could see it. Light running past his old self was perfect, him seeing L before he died was to me a great throwback to L's death. The last thing they see when they closed their eyes was the other and while Light defeated L, L's legacy defeated him. It was poetic. And the lame ending was thanks to the editor wanting Light to be "punished" so I don't find it to be some grand writing because it was editiorial tampering. 

...Light's literally in love with his sister? What? Did you even read the manga? He loves her like a sister. Not like anything else. As for his new world. Never said it was a nice place. Thus the whole "good intentions." it was a nice idea "a world free of crime." but it would never work. Not to mention Yotsuba arc is showing how Light had been corrupted by the death note. 

...Mello is an insane girly looking creep that has no moral scruples. He just is a creep.  L's not much better with his torture of Misa. But he at least doesn't hide while doing it. 
That said I defintely need brainbleach. Mello good intentions  Mello justwanted to beat Near because he was a childish little brat. I need brainbleach for anyone thinking those brats were trying to be decent people. Sadly that's only for the investigation team. They just wanted revenge/proving themselves better than L.  

Death note rant aside. 

I want Joker for both my dude and FemShep.  

And EdixJoker makes me facepalm.

Well, I think I've been lurking around here long enough. Time to chime in with everyone else: I support Joker romance in ME3! Reading this thread made me go create a new FemShep simply for the purpose of bringing her into the third game with high hopes for a Jokermance.

And by the way, this thread rocks One of the most enjoyable I've come across!

Well, in my humble opinion, I don't think the Mass Effect Team would ever do such a thing.
12 hours of Joker dialogue... exactly how much of that would they possibly be able to put into a behind-the-scenes romance between a man and a computer?

I mean, come on, now... coome oooon... coooome oooooon!

Anyway, I think Joker and Vega will get on pretty well once the whole "You're guarding Shepard's brig cell" thing is over. He might resent the guy a bit for that, since he's so loyal to Shep. Hmmm.... might just be that I'm a little too demanding here, but yes. There is a upside that they know that he is wanted. That has to be good right.

Yah, that's the infamous Mike Gamble non-answer he gave at Gamescom... seemed like a kick in the quad since he gave somewhat of a positive and slightly more detailed non-answer about the Joker/EDI romance a few questions prior.

And wasn't Sebastian's the infamous "you must deny affection with everyone else if you want to have a shot at me" romance in DA2? (I personally haven't played it, yet. Lol) If that's the case with Mr. Moreau, my single Femshep shouldn't have a problem!

Sebastian's a celibate and barely complete romance.  Which would put Joker and Shepard back into the cheap territory that Sorrel so eloquently rails against in her blog.

I see no reason why he should be celibate.

The only thing I disagree with her on is EDI.  An AI is highly intelligent and far more sophisticated than "equipment."  However, EDI may not be capable of romantic feelings at all, yet.  (I liken EDI more to a bodiless Data from ST:TNG)

No they wouldnt, she says while trying to block Helpers' Anders out of her mind, umm seriousely though I have almost unshakable faith in Bioware and i do think we will get our jokermance - if there is edi/joker hopefully it will be in the style of fenris/isabela

I wouldn't unduly anthropomorphise EDI though. :> I don't believe she's capable of feeling emotions -- simply collating data and learning how to emulate and respond to others more efficiently and in a way that makes them feel more at ease interacting with her.

I agree completely. Mordin says after his recruitment that EDI emulates emotions - only because she sounds as if she has emotions does not mean that she is really capable of having real emotions. To have someone near you, someone you can feel and touch and be tender with is some important part too, and I am not speaking of sex, because love is more than that.
 
@Sorrel: What about sending the link to your text to Casey + Patrick? It represents very well the feelings of nearly everyone of us in this thread. Maybe at least they will look on it (I am sure they won't comment it).

Oh and to the twitter news from Casey: they are several months old. We know that the writers are still writing dialogue for some characters or at least have been shortly. Something like romance is not a heavy aspect of the game and won't affect the story too much. So this can be changed easily.

There was a tweet some time ago where Casey said that we will be able to start a romance with some (but not all) LIs from the previous games. But I would not count them as new LIs, because they are already LIs. So we have the possibility that an existing character like Joker could be a new LI because he wasn't in ME1 and ME2 and/or that a new character can be a LI too (like Vega).

Casey said in a different tweet that "new things are happening" in this area.

That we don't get any news means nothing. Look in the other threads, there is the same problem of no new informations concerning the characters. We have more reasons to hope for a Jokermance than ever before. Don't give up! Time is running fast and Xmas knocking on the door. March will be here soon
