I wouldn't call my social circle geeky (even though I am very proud to be one) but most are gamers so they would understand me costumes

For the most part I do. And Shepard is just one of my five costumes. The other four being The Lone Wanderer, Sae Kurosawa (Fatal Frame II), Nyan Cat and Keyboard Cat XD

EW Shepard sees Joker reading Date Out of Your League and jokes, "Is that for EDI?"

Joker closes the book with a bang and answers, "Uh, no ... I ... well."

"Okay, okay!" Shepard laughs. "It's none of my business, but I hope you get the girl."

As Shepard leaves the area, EDI asks "Why don't you try honesty, Mr. Moreau?"

Joker drops in his seat and sighs, "You don't understand humans ... Someone like Shep-ugh, the Commander ... Why would she like the sickly guy with the creaky legs?" 

"Because she would also be with the best damn helmsman in the Alliance fleet."

"Don't do that."

"What, Mr. Moreau?"

"Throw my words back at me." 

"Does that bother you?"

"Bother? No."

"Then what?"

"It gives me a false," rubs leg and looks down, "... hope."

... Sorry, but that scene popped in my head with the question. Corny, I know.

I have no clue as to what he would be reading, but that might be because I am not much of a book reader. I has to really good for me to pick up.

Okay, that is THE most adorable/sad Joker and EDI convo I have ever seen. Bioware, put this in the game. Now.

Personally, I would like to see Joker go after Shepard first. With all the other LIs, we've had to step up to the plate, whereas I'd like something different.

I would like for him to show an interest. I liked how Kaidan would slip up and make little comments here and there. I have a soft spot for stuff like that. I feel Joker could definitely accidentally say something that would be suggestive of some feelings for Shepard, and not realize it until he had already said it, then he would fumble over his own words to cover it up. 

Then, to me, it would be more natural for Shep to show an interest instead of being a sexual-harassment-law-suit-waiting-to-happen and being weird and over bearing (FemShep can sound really creepy to me on occasion, was that not clear?). But I would just be happy for a romance at all! But him taking some sort of initiative is preferable to me.
