Joker loyalty mission...

While docked, you walk up in the cockpit and Joker is not there! EDI tells you he received a private message that upset him to the point he actually left the pilot's seat and asked the AI to call over the relief pilot (if there is one).

You find Joker in the sick bay arguing with the doctor about asking you for help. The doctor says he should but Joker says he didn't want to bother you since you already have a full plate.

Here you are given options on how to confront them.

The doctor informs you that Joker's Ex has been caught by some mercs (or whoever is the background bad guys) and they demand that Joker turn over critical information about Normandy and crew to them.

Here you are given more choices. Do you fake smile and help, frown and help or decide to let the Ex suffer?

I personally believe there is no way Joker doesn't have at least one ex-girlfriend or whatever. Even with his condition, his personality and looks makes it impossible in my mind that he has reached his current age..untouched. Maybe the Ex broke things off with him due to career issues (Military careers will do that), but the feelings might have been still be there when they broke things off.

^^That right there is fantastic. She could be an ex-girlfriend, but a good friend at the same time. It would also serve to greatly open Joker up to the topic of romance and such. Shep could be like, "Yeah, I didn't know anything about your personal life even though we're really close."

I always imagined an assignment of sorts where you were at the Citadel or Arcturus or something, and some guy starts giving Joker sh*t and Joker starts getting super defensive. You find out it's a former Academy classmate of his, someone who always told him he wasn't good enough. Well, apparently this guy got grounded because he's an idiot of some kind (incompetent, drunk, something like that) and is jealous of Joker's success and is berating him anew. You can do the Charm/Intimidate thing, or have a renegade interrupt to punch out his drunk a**.

I also imagined an assignment after you romanced Joker, where you run into a friend of his from childhood/Academy. He comments that Joker is doing really well for himself and that he's proud to have such a friend, and that he's even heard that he's got a girlfriend now and wants to know who she is. When Joker tells him it's Commander Shepard, the friend goes, "Haha, you're a funny guy, always have been. But no, really, who?" At that point, Shepard comes into the conversation and says, "Me," before kissing Joker. Friend looks shocked, Joker looks like, "Oh yeah, who's the man?"

I don't see Joker as the type of person to just ragequit the mission (unlike all of your squadmates in ME2) just because you didn't run an errand for him. He's duty-focused, just like Shepard *turns head towards Bioware, speaking through gritted teeth* giving them a common trait! *returns to normal*
But if Joker had a personal mission (somewhat like Wrex's armor or Dr. Saleon) I'd imagine it would be finding and reconciling with his father (seeing as how his mother is already dead). However, the arc was already used during Jacob Taylor's loyalty mission, so I doubt Bioware would recycle it.

I don't know about that, they already re-used the "family/relationship troubles" storyline for most of the loyalty missions in ME2.

Okay, serious answer about a Joker LM.



It could be a simple "talk to him" mission. Chakwas approaches Shepard about Joker still feeling some guilt over him causing Shepard's death, and she suggests talking with him to ease his mind. The commander has three choices here: agree, say she'll do it later, or disagree to keep personal drama personal. Agree to it, Shepard goes up to the CIC and requests to have a chat with Joker. Naturally, he'll say he's busy, in which Shepard can request again, or, go all authorative. Joker will reluctantly leave the pilot seat and follow Shepard to her quarters.

There, the talk can unfold in a few different ways. Forgiving. Blase. Angry. Naturally, the "forgiving" path will lead Shepard into the romance option if she so chooses.

Ohh, I like that idea, Raydiva! Maybe combine your mission with my mission and have it be Joker's father who gets kidnapped by Cerberus! For some reason, I can't help but picture Moreau Senior being voiced and modeled after Richard Dreyfuss...

I can't believe this slipped my mind, but Shiala and Parasini. They would be welcome LI's.

Idea for Joker LM...

Shepard simply takes him to fly a dreadnought.

They return to the Normandy, and for the first time since what happened to the Normandy at the beginning of ME2, Joker talks to Shepard about how he/she saved his life, when it meant sacrificing their own life. At this point, Shepard has the option to pursue a romance with Joker.

I would love this to happen. With how Shepard saved Joker's life at the expense of his/her own, I think that they have the strongest basis for a relationship than any other characters.

Shiala felt very flirty when I ran into her on Illium so it wouldn't surprise me if you could date her. I missed it the first time I talked with her but on the 2:nd FemShep I got very flirty-vibes from her....

Sounds good to me...but I'm old enough to rather have Sean Connery play Joker's father.  Dunno why...maybe its the beard.

Edit:  Is Connery even still alive?  *goes googling*
