We should probably start thinking about when we can (pump fists/mourn publicly) on this forum once the game comes out. I know we have an international mix, so some people will get the game sooner. Does anyone have thoughts on what an acceptable waiting period should be before posting the fact that our wishes (came true/were ignored)?

I'd have to guess until everyone has a chance to get their hands on the game. Chances are I won't be on here until I at least beat it once anyway.

EDIT: Top of the page Joker. A little early, but hell since everyone else is ignoring Thanksgiving, I might as well too. /sarcasm

I would say about a month. Maybe. I have Spring Break that week, so I'll have a whole week to play it non-stop so I might finish it sooner, but I think that sounds good. Now, if I can somehow bottle up my glee/rage until then... That might be a problem.

Now for the mean time, Nickelback's new album got leaked... Chad Kroeger, take my money now. Please D8

And thar be my main issue. Containing my glee/rage might not be possible, depending on what does or doesn't happen.

Personally, I think a month is a little much. IMO, when the final product gets released, all bets are off. These forums are going to erupt in a mass rage/joy spoilerinade when the initial crowd receives the game and beats it! I personally think we all should use our better judgement when March 6th hits. My American X-box live friends and the folk from this forum I've added onto facebook will probably be the only recipients of my initial reaction for the week following release (cause I just know y'all will be playing it, too! Lol). Also, I'm going to be avoiding these forums like a mad plague until I've beaten the game at least twice (for fear of being spoiled prematurely).

So yeah, I think that if y'all have something to say post-release... well, say it. The others should probably avoid the thread for awhile. It's just my opinion on how I think it should be handled...

I know I'm avoiding the forum until I beat both sides, at the very least. The people I have added on Twitter will most likely know of my initial reaction, assuming I'm not a Vigg-puddle halfway through the game from all of its awesomeness coming through my TV. Probably won't have updates like I did during my ME2 Insanity run though; gonna be too busy jumping Joker hitting al-Jilani dismissing the Council punching Udina defeating the Reapers.

Well, I'm betting that people will come in here full of sorrow or joy and that info will come asap. Which means that I will be far far away from bsn as soon as the game comes out in the US since I'm in Europe and will get it 3 days later. I'll be here to change the OP and title if the thread wants anything to be changed after the game comes out. But I will probably hide until I've beaten it once at least  =)

I have some news from Russia :D
Did anyone hear about what Bioware want to do?
They want to rewrite the story I read it in our Russian community...

I read that, too. With all this "negative" feedback, there is some speculation that BioWare is going back and changing some things.

I, however, read: The game will be postponed again.

They are NOT gonna delay it again. The CAN NOT. They WILL NOT. I NEED MY JOKER FIX.

Image IPB

The wait till March is long enough. I know I can't deal with anything longer. Honestly I don't see them delaying it again; it was an early version of the script, so chances are they had already made changes to it before the leak happened. At least that's what I think.

That .gif is awesome, by the way. Poor Shepard.

I suggest making another thread, or a big "SPOILERSPOILERSPOILERSPOILER" signboard, or making a month "delay". Some people, for instance me, won't get the game immediately after premiere, so don't be egoistic, folks :P I know some of you can't wait for their pre-order copies and play it through and through zillion times, but still :P

Well, at least I wouldn't have to bring my 360 with me when my college drags the basketball band to a tornament two states over two days after ME3 comes out. But then my mom would have to pick it up for me and send it up here...

I just saw that article on Kotaku a few minutes ago. I doubt they are going to change any major plot things at this point; I doubt they just haphazardly slapped a story on top of some shooting mechanics so I imagine the story has had quite a bit of thought behind it. Maybe they are speaking more about details or something? Things that wouldn't cause hefty delays? Maybe? :crying:

Either way, we should try our best to make sure this thread is on the front page, that way they'll know a Jokermance is in demand and that they shoud add it or leave it in while they're in there changing stuff.:wizard:

Bullsh**. There is no way they can go back this late and change the story. They've already gone too far. I'll believe this when someone from Bioware announces it, not before.

Hey, guys! I had to stay away from BSN because of urgent doing-for-a-living reasons. I was catching up with the pages I hadn't read since I last posted, and I was very displeased to see some people showed up just to spoil this tread. There is this guy who said something about EDI. If his recent activity and the posts of him I've read are anything to go by, he's been purposely posting in several threads just to annoy people. I guess he noticed the new thread title, but he chose to drop his spoiler bomb anyway. But I think not everyone is as malicious as he is. Maybe others did the same without noticing the change in the thread title. They just read "Joker Romance..." and felt free to post spoilers. I suggest the use of capitals in the words BREAK, ARM and SPOILERS. Capitals would attract more attention to these words and let others know that people regularly posting here don't like being spoiled.

The game is not done by anyone's definition. Let's end the conspiracy theories that keep popping up on threads.

On Nov. 1st Casey tweeted that they were reviewing romance plots.

Nov. 10-11th senior writers are still writing in game content.

It's called crunch for a reason.

As far as feedback goes, I can personally attest to the fact that forums/facebook/twitter are monitored and sentiment is reported (by me and other awesome people on our community team). Feedback is absolutely critical to game development, as I've said here, and you should continue giving feedback in a civil and constructive manner with good intentions. No one's going to take someone seriously that spews hate and argumentative behavior. We have really exemplary community members here and I want you to know that we are in fact listening.

And to quote Ray from the OP article:
"You edit it continually. It's a living process to build a game and it's also a living experience to play through it. You're seeing the graphics, you're seeing the choices, you're seeing the characters. Words alone on a page, they're not delivered in voice over, they're not delivered in the interface, they're not delivered as your character, with your choices up to that point imbuing them with meaning and purpose and identity, the emotion part of it.

"A lot of the art now in video games is developed in an interesting way where subtle expressions and facial animation, a tilt of the head, the way the camera is positioned, the lighting in a room, they can set the tone and the mood, the sound effects, the layer of audio that's put over the top of a scene, that stuff is really important.

"What I would suggest to the fans is, we're going to make sure we deliver an awesome experience as we have in prior Mass Effect games. Don't spoil the story. The fun of the story is uncovering things and exploring and finding new points to adventure in. I hope they don't lose that joy of discovery."

I should go.

There you go. They're tweaking the game in reaction to the leak. No major changes, just little things. Things that should be expected in the home stretch. Also, she stated the game is far from completion, anyway. They still have three and a half more months of work to do (and that includes testing the game).

You heard it from Merizan, herself. To her knowledge, Bioware won't be delaying the game. The fans are just overreacting. So let's all take a deep breath and get back to our regularly scheduled Joker. ;)

Well, I'm certainly not looking forward to the fact that there "is a possibility" of ME3 being delayed....but perhaps that is the only way we will receive the fully flushed Joker Romance that we've been waiting for. So, if that is the case, I suppose I can wait as patiently as I can for them to take their time and make the best possible game that they can...

Now if you'll excuse me, I'll be over here....not crying or anything....

Pffff i knew it leaked on purpose!

So basically we should have pretended to know there was 'no jokermance', then been really loud under numerous usernames saying we're outraged blah blah blah.... so they'd pop it in if it wasnt already. Poop.
