We should've made something like the "Cure Thane for ME3" thing. Not necessarily a poster so big, but there's ton of great artists supporting Joker, so it could've worked.

It's my opinion, I just think some people may have been over zealous about this, especially when the leak was from an old document. BioWare knows we want the romance. I believe we just need to move on and accept it all if we get it or if we don't; BioWare's tweaking the story - at least that's what I read.

(And I didn't even notice that was your art until just now seeing the link in your signature. :\\ )

But I'm not going to use this thread as a who's right or wrong gig. I apologized to Mr. Hudson, as did some others because we felt like we had to. And y'all tweet because you feel like you have to. Okay. Let's move on.

I dont believe this hooey about 'its an old draft, it probably doesnt matter'.

What i believe this 'old draft' to be is the actual storyline they were going with. But this is ME3 right? The huge awaited finale? So they'd want to be careful. Why not 'accidentally' allow the draft to leak to not only get more people hyped over a game that's had no news awhile, but to receive invaluable feedback from their fans and to edit it based on this feedback.

We all know loud fans get what they want i.e. tali and garrus fanservice, and i dont think complacency is an option. I also dont think any of you need apologize for being passionate, so if you want to tweet Casey and get 'loud', go for it. Talimancers and the like might have a reputation for being obnoxious, but since they got what they want, they're the ones laughing.

Would you have Joker get rid of his facial hair? Would you have him change it for another style? Or do you think his full beard's a key part of his charm?

I completely agree with you there, some of the Movember disasters I've seen are atrocious.  But they are doing it for charity, so I forgive them

I don't think they'd change the beard - it's as much a part of Joker's character as his hat and sarcastic wit.

1) The ME3 leak is an old draft. It was a rough script. You can tell by the writing style. But it was so close to the finished product that the team is now scrambling to change the script. The bioware devs didn't come out and say "Jeeze, guys, that's a year old, cool your jets." They said, "Oh my god. Disregard that entire post. Here's a cease and desist letter." The reaction alone should cause some worry.

2) They haven't changed anything in the Joker script. Little birdies have been mumbling about the current Joker plot for months. Silverman himself told everyone that "We have Joker/EDI fans COVERED" during the live Q&A session at GamesCon. They see nothing wrong with it. They're getting the wrong message. If you wanted it changed, you have to do something about it now.

Calm down everyone, "Casey's taking revenge" was just a joke. I'm sure it's just a business decision to him, as long as he's aware there's a market demand for it, you're good. If anything I think he might be more annoyed from the flood of apology tweets combined with the baseball bat tweets:P. (j/k) My main curiosity is, because I have no concept of the development cycle of a videogame- is it pretty much moot? If a Joker romance isn't already in the game, isn't it already too late?

Normally?  Yes.  But the team is working to make corrections due to the recent leak.  We can still get in.

No, they won't change the entire script to add Joker leering at Shepard.  No, they won't get the chance to drag Seth Green back into the booth to record a romantic confession.  But no, it's not too late: it would be no issue for the developement team to be awesome and add in a third option to this Joker story arc.  It's not too much to ask for a nod, hand squeeze, hug or even kiss.  So don't back down now.

Yes.

Yes.  And they're just as outraged by EDI's treatment as I am of Joker's.

EDI and Joker have a wonderful dynamic with each other.  They're respectful and communicative.  They help each other out.  If the developers wanted to extend Joker's love for his ship into his respect for EDI, we would have no issues. 

But the sexy fembot cliche is almost insulting.  For both sides.

From what I know of game development, y'know, as a game design student, I think it would be really tough to change the script and such this late. Sure they can add maybe a few tweaks, but as others have been saying, doing rewrites and recording does take up time, and they still have to do playtesting and try to get rid of the bugs in gameplay.

But I guess it varies from company to company, however they structure their development timeline. I think if there is a Joker romance for us it would've been recorded already and the devs are just keeping it in the dark for a surprise, or they really did go with a EDI fembot to add another hot chick to the squad and make a really, really weird relationship between the pilot and his ship.

I'm surprised that people even like that second option. There really is no justifying it.

But who knows, maybe they just wanted to save the Joker/Shep romance for the final game, maybe they've had that planned from the beginning. We can't really speculate on anything until the game comes out. Until then, it's just a waiting game.

This is the final game in the Shepard story arc, they've been saying that for months. There's not going to be another chance at adding Joker/Shepard to the storyline, so we have to seize the opportunity that was presented with the unfortunate leak of the script. They've also said they're going to have to make changes now, since things were leaked, so now is the time to campaign.

Well then. I suggest we do something similar to Thane's Cure like Vicki said? And maybe instead of Shepards...Joker hats. Real, made, or drawn? Each of us draw a hat maybe, no matter how crappy, and make a huge hat pile. Or something along those lines.

"My heart has vrolik's, please don't break it!"

Or something less cheesy. >_>

Might be difficult considering the time frame, but heck, worth a shot.
