Anyway, I've been at school all day (darn exams), so I'll interject my little tidbit on the recent Twitter issue before I move on. Hopefully it'll be some food for thought, yes?
I love you all, I really do, but I had to talk myself down this morning so as to avoid coming in here and slapping you all upside the head. I understand where each side is coming from. There are those of us to whom the issue of OI hits home. There are those of us who have been campaigning just as hard as any Garrus or Tali fan for our romance since 2007. There are those of us who are incredibly ticked off about the contents of the leak Joker-wise (I include myself here). We feel slighted that our efforts have apparently fallen on deaf ears. We feel that BioWare might not have stayed true to the character. We feel demoralized because what we really didn't want to see happen very might well happen. I get it. I'm right there with you. However, I read most of the tweets. Most were respectful, but there were some that weren't so tactfully written. Some that had an almost, "How dare you!" feel to them. Unfortunately, the internet is a place of mostly written medium, and thus sometimes you have to read between the lines to suss out a person's intent, whether that interpretation is correct or not. I'm no Communications major, but I was personally a bit shocked at what I read from some of the tweets. I'm just reporting what I saw and felt myself when I went through all of them - I'm not trying to say anything was right or wrong, so don't flame me, please.
Right now, the Casey Hudson is one of the last people I want to be. His team has suffered backlash after backlash: from the announcement of multiplayer, over the "Modes" in the leaked demo, and from the .tlk leaks. Damage control from the leaks has to be hellish, and has probably added to their already demanding workload with less than 4 months until release. A few of the tweets I read I definitely wouldn't want to be reading if I were in his position and stressed out of my mind. And yes, he's good enough to his fans that he reads every single one. He doesn't seem the type to put his proverbial fingers in his ears and "scroll over" things he doesn't want to see or hear. For all we might be upset, and for all that the producers at BioWare try to take the fans' wishes into account, in the end, this is their story. Their baby. Not ours. This is a story they have created and shared with us. I don't know about you guys, but I will trust them with their vision despite my frustration due to the fact I feel like I haven't been heard. That make sense?
Then I come in here and we're all having it out over whether or not to apologize? Come on. If you feel like you have nothing to apologize for, then don't. If you feel like you should apologize, then do. Either way, the situation is what it is. Certainly, no one is going to make it worse by apologizing if they felt like things went too far. I'm glad in the end everyone agrees to disagree here, so can we bury the hatchet on this? Please?
I know this particular topic has died down somewhat, but I felt like all this had to be said. I do not intend to pick the proverbial scab.

Ugh, these past few weeks have just been rough. On me in my RL, on here. It's just crazy.
The holidays are coming up, on a lighter note! I have so much to write on my Shoker fic still before ME3 comes out...I don't know if I can finish in time. Maybe winter break will provide me the time I need. I always wondered how humans would celebrate the holidays in the ME 'verse, do they even keep track of that stuff on the ships and stations since they use Galactic Standard times? Hm, maybe I should write a Christmas fic...
Edit (had to remember what we were talking about...): I like that idea, Phantom. I could use pictures of my real hat! What is Thane's Cure, exactly? Can anyone fill me in? I haven't been in on the Thane thread for a while...
Edit, Part 2 (wow, I fail today): ToP Joker! This face is sooo my face today. <_<
