Let's be honest, you knew exactly what you were doing, anyone in his place would've blocked you, and most likely much earlier than Casey did.

As for the video, man if you could mention some of the arguments about how it sends an unintentional but still bad message to pair an antisocial, disabled person with a robot because it implies he is not strong enough for real human contact and that hiding yourself away because you are different, shy, or not as socially developed comes with its own rewards -- that'd be great.

I thought that might be the reason so many of you feel so strongly against Joker x EDI. If I may play the devil's advocate here, it's based on the idea Joker is "settling" for EDI, but what if Joker actually really likes her (or it)? So it wouldn't be "nobody loves me" rather "my love transcends lifeforms".  I don't find Joker antisocial, depending on whether you mean reclusive or its actual meaning. He's not shy and was only reclusive in flight school because he was studying harder than everyone else to overcompensate for his disability. I'm not arguing aginst the weirdness (but it's weird for a ship to have human personality at all in the first place), but I don't think it has to be pathetic. Additionally, it could be really good tragic love story.  (see scruffy x washbucket )

Sounds a lot like the stuff I say, and I don't really go to parties and crap. I'm a lot more social than I used to be. (I go out regularly and have a circle of friends now. Waaaasn't always the case).

Joker is a bit antisocial, and I do mean the reclusive side of it rather than the active sabotaging side of it. He holes himself away and makes it fairly clear that's what he's doing. He's compared EDI to his mother on more than one occasion.

Regardless of whatever he may feel, EDI is a machine and is not capable of returning any feelings and thus it is an unhealthy relationship. EDI may be "alive" in a certain sense, but alive =/= having emotions. That's why I feel it's bad to present it. It's his ruddy laptop for heaven's sake. A very advanced learning algorithm with a female Microsoft Sam voice.

He does say that doesn't he. It's just not the impression I get though, he never stammers, doesn't hesitate to brag, and often raises his voices at his commander. I mean he did mange to charm the knickers off all of you after all.
I never realised you related so closely to Joker, I'm sorry if I offended you in any way. Yah I seem to be going the opposite way from you. I missed the mother dialogue so maybe I'm not seeing th whole picture.

That's thing that puzzles me about how human EDI is actually supposed to be, I think they probably went too far on that when even the geth appear essentially emotionless. Did someone program her to do bad jokes and play pranks on Joker? Why does she start siding with her new "friends" over the illusive man?
In any case I appreciate not being stoned/flamed/ stoned with flaming stones to death., and to get back on topic, I'm curious: Have you been Jokermancers since ME1 or ME2? At what point did you say "I want to romance that bastard"?

Before, I thought of Joker as a great buddy that my Shepard could turn to for a laugh and some advice on the crew or a mission. Did I think about romancing him? Not really, to be honest. It didn't occur to me. Then I came across the ME2 Joker thread supporting a possible romance, and I was hooked.

My very first playthrough I romanced Kaidan for the achievement, and it nearly made me cringe, haha. I didn't like it that you could either choose between Liara or Kaidan. I wanted more options. As I played through I grew attached to Joker. He was really funny and easy for my Shepard to get along with. It wasn't until after I heard that the romance roster for Mass Effect 2 was bigger that I thought, "hmmm...Joker would be an awesome romance!" When I think about it, Joker's personality is closer to mine than any of the other male love interests. Plus...Seth Green is his voice actor. Point taken.

I liked Joker in ME1 but I never thought of romancing him. One day after ME2 had been launched, I was talking about the game with a cousin. He told me that his sister regretted not being able to romance Joker. The idea of romancing him totally surprised me. I started to think of it, and the idea grew on me. As I said in my latest post, I realized that Joker was great romance material.

About halfway through my first playthrough of ME1 I realised the only person I wanted as a LI for that Shep on board the Normandy was Joker and then just stuck with that (for a long tiime)

I was first exposed to Mass Effect through Mass Effect 2 (my roommate didn't have the first one with him at school, so I had to make do!), but Joker had me at the end of the suicide mission. I knew you couldn't romance him, but MAN I wished I could have! So, basically, I wanted to romance him fairly early in my exposure to the games. He only grew on me more when I played the first game for the first time.

@phantom - No problem. A friend of mine is going to boot in March for the Navy, and he enlisted a while back. I figure even if you enlist now, you have plenty of time to enjoy ME3.

So, what are all of you planning to do to pass the time until ME3 is out? My friends wanted me to get into Naruto, so I'm reading the manga. Over 58 volumes and almost 600 chapters. That should do it. -.-

Since I'm on uni holidays, have no job and nothing to do until I go back in March, I'm trying to get a perfect file in Final Fantasy X. Also I get to beta test The Old Republic this weekend, so that might help.

Oh and to keep myself occupied I was gonna go to the library and borrow a whole bunch of physics and maths books.

And while I'm an Aussie and really have no idea what Thanksgiving is about, everyone else is saying it so I'll wish everyone a delightful day as well.

When i spoke to him about Virmire. Mass Effect 1, about half way through the game i suppose.

When I first bought an xbox 360 I asked a friend to recommend some games and he said "You might like Mass Effect, you have a starship and can romance someone on your crew even and the sex scene in it made headlines lol" I was like hmmm oh really? So I bought it and met Joker and I was like ok, the pilot on my crew is hot and omg that's Seth Green's voice so I choose him for my romance. I kept trying and trying to talk to him but he just said the same couple stories over and over so I googled it finally and found out Kaidan, Ash, & Liara were the only options so I went with Kaidan. I love Kaidan and never regretted that decision but part of me has always wanted Joker. Especially after ME2 when I got to talk to him more and his sense of humor really shined. Two single Shepards are waiting for him and they better get him.
