You know for the last two games I've thought the idea of a Joker romance in game was stupid but now I actually think it would be a good idea and Joker is such a good character and friend of Shepard

You guys are great, but I don't want to see this thread locked or get a red flag raised on it. If someone disagrees with you about Joker being bi, just let them have their moment and send them on their way. I personally see Joker as straight and have a hard time seeing him as bi (but that's just me). So please, no starting trouble with opponents. It would be different if Ayrini said something troll-like, but I'm reading her posts and she really didn't. And she put at the end of her post, "But of course, that's just only my opinion." I just don't want the wrath of the mods brought down on the thread.

In our ME2 Joker thread I posted some time ago a collection of some hints for a Jokermance. As there seem to be new people around here, I thought it would be interesting to post it again:

Here first the links:

We know from Bioware that the trilogy is Shepards story and ME3 will focus more on Shepard. We know that
- there will be new LIs: Link
- there is at least a hint about a jokermance: Link (sorry - look for the entry on 9th May as reply of the message of Raving_Ranter)
- Bioware know that Joker has many fans: Link (sorry - look for the entry on 22th May that is a reply on Seth Greens twitter message - I could not link directly to it)
- Bioware is listening to the fans: Link
- there will be relationships with new chars and old friends, some of them romantic: Link (sorry - look for entry on 12th may as answer to JA9777).

Concerning Joker may be bi: I really don't mind - I have only played femsheps so far but Joker would be the only reason for me to play a male Shepard.

I think you have to distinguish between a character that is really bi or just available for both male and female options.

What I mean is this:

1. If Joker would be bi he would in theory within one game/playthrough be interested in both men and women. So he could e.g. develop feelings for femshep or some other woman or for a male crew member etc.

2. If Joker is only available for both male/female Shepards than this means that the character is not really bi but maybe straight within one game/playthrough and only interested in male or female Shepards/persons.

What I try to explain is that only because Joker maybe available as romance option for both male and female Shepards does not mean that Joker as character itself is bi - it is just an option for both male and female Shepards and help the gamers to role-play their Shepard how they want it.

But as we don't know very much about Joker he may be indeed bi or not - for me this is really unimportant as long as we get our Jokermance

I know this is sometimes tough to understand but one can just be friends with people who you know are attracted to your gender.  Bi people aren't attracted to everyone on the planet and they don't hit on everything that moves.

They shouldn't make Joker rejectable. It should be hard enough to get things going in the first place that you can't reject him, you can only persistently pursue him or not start anything. Because breaking Joker's heart is like slaughtering a puppy. Sure, that stuff might happen in the world, but I would like very much to not ever have to think about it. Ever.

Heh, *rubs the back of his head* but yeah, you're right. Playing Joker on and then rejecting him would be really cruel... like clubbing a baby seal cruel. I agree that it shouldn't even be an option.

Also, LOL @ the epic usage of Michael from the Office. I miss him... his mannerisms during any type of Toby scene never failed to make me laugh...

We can absolutely change the OP   =)   I'll be on vacation for a time now so there won't be much from me for the next couple of days. But yes, if there's a wish for the OP to be a bit different we will make it so.

Got a twitter-account just to follow the ME3-people pretty much, they do tweet some rather encouraging things every now and then.... but nothing solid. Darn it    =)   Nr 3 there, Mannver Heir telling Seth Green how many requests they have had for Joker, was new for me so that was a nice find. Nice to hear that there are people asking for Joker on many fronts!

Ohh pretty please no Joker-sacrifice, there must at least be a really good way to get around it. If it turns into the Taking-Alistair-to-the-Archdeamon-without-the-dark-ritual-buisness I will have one or two sad FemSheps. I like to see some bit of hero-action on Jokers part, but sacrifice..... pretty please no.

If Bioware makes Joker pull a "I am but a leaf on the wind", I will not be a happy fangirl. I'm sure my reaction will be similar to the time I showed my best friend Serenity and my laptop died right after River goes to kick Reaver butt. It was hillarious, but again, fangirl rage.

i'm totally Ok with s/s Joker romance. We have guys that play as FemSheps and lord knows as a female I've had to play as countless guys in games past and have NPC's swoon over my space marine biceps. What I'm trying to say is that roleplaying games should always have all gemders available for romance in all combinations. Every video game in the world is roleplaying in some respects. Just because I am anti-gun in RL doesn't mean that I won't pick up a Widow Antimaterial Sniper Rifle and make swiss cheese of Collectors. Games allow us outlets to try what we may never in RL. Being Master Chief has never threatened my straight female worldview, so why should anybody feel threatened by the idea of a gay/bi character? Playing a s afemale saviour of the galaxy gave an extra dimension to my ME experience, so maybe I'll play as a gay M!Shep to get insight into the romance experience. Will that turn me into a gay man in RL? No! (Well as long as I don't undergo gender reassignment surgery cuz I'll always love dudes).
Viva la romance! The galaxy needs love in all it's forms!

Side-note: i have a sneaking suspicion that if you loom up yhe history of people who have posted homophobic rants, i think they migght have been quite silent on the whole Liara/FemShep pairing. Suuuuuure she wasn't female, *wink*

Please read this post not as an attack on any previous poster b/c it is not. I welcome all to the Joker thread and I welcome all opinions, even though they may differ from mine. We've got bigger fish to fry, as in how are we going to get these mother-****ing Reapers out of this mother-****ing Galaxy!??! :-)

in the game I am sure the character can have options on the matter, if they want to be with some one like there will be the flirt response, the non flirt response, and shut the F-Up lol i think it will go if you don't pursue the relationship then you won't get it and you won't get the character flirting back at you so people will still be able to have their bro joker as other can initiate the romance joker

I'd welcome the same system which was employed in DA2, i.e. flirt icons. I was ninjamanced by Liara and I don't even know how. I was just touring the ship, being friendly, plus the lines themselves didn't sound very flirty either.Then Kaidan delivered his "Liara is interested in you" which was quite unexpected. Well, it was easy to tell her I'm not interested, but it made me feel terrible... like I was leading her on, which wasn't my intend in the first place.
"Intend icons" would be ideal solution for everybody who wants to avoid certain romances for various reasons.

I got really excited reading those tweets. Serious hope for Joker romance!  I wouldn't mind if he was a bi LI or not, seeing as it's one of my femSheps I have been saving for him.

Well that's exciting news. Granted, they said something similar before ME2 and we ended up with the... well, with Kelly. So don't get overly excited. Or, get excited (I am), but be wary.
