I remember when I first got to play as Joker on ME2. I was so excited, then I died...I thought that if Joker died, then he would be dead for good. I screamed at the game and turned it off and refused to turn it on until I learned he respawned. Then all was good...for the most part. I still felt bad when I got him killed. What about y'all? XD

I didn't kill Joker on that part when I first played it. I just kept going and tried not to be seen. Lol. I don't think I thought it was possible to kill him, at first, until I saw a YouTube video.

I've never gotten Joker killed once...not even on my first playthrough (only God knows how I managed to do that; I screwed up everything else on that save).

I'm a month late, but did anyone else feel like Jessica Merizan's post made it sound like there wasn't going to be a Jokermance? I don't know what specifically made me feel that way, but..it didn't sound promising, at all. I really feel like they're going to pull a Samara on us at best.

Joker and Shepard drunk would be freaking hilarious. I support this.

As for the "no Jokermance" thing...it'd be pretty sad if they just completely ignored a fan base that's been around since 2007 (as Sky has pointed out), unless they had a legitimate reason to...I don't know...I for one am VERY hopeful for a Jokermance...I mean, they've had two games to build up their relationship. Plus there's all that evidence in the OP...XD

I had this feeling concerning Jessicas post as well. Like, ok it is not going to happen but there are still great Joker moments. I also remember the interview where it was said they will be looking at a EDIxJoker romance and for JokerxShepard you have to play it to see it. While talking about EDIxJoker it sounded a bit like "good idea - in fact we had the same idea too" - of course he didn't say that but he was quite ok with this idea and with JokerxShepard kind of "oh hmh what can I say, well, wait and see for yourself" - of course this means nothing at all but it would have felt better if he had smiled while saying this or something similar. It shouldn't be such a great thing to implement a JokerxShepard romance, as long as they don't have every crew member commenting at it (so that they need a recorded line from everyone). Let us hope they did it and that there is only a possibility that they come together if Joker is not romanced.

With our thread nearly every day on page 1 of the forum for character and romance discussion it is really hard to miss us...

There is no reason for Joker for not being a LI. Unless they have a scripted death for him that would not fit to a happy ending for Shepard and every LI but I really doubt that they would kill him.

Other reasons? He is human so no race specific reasons (like Mordin who told us that for salarians feelings do not last long because of the low lifespan. But we saw SalarianxAsari couple so that is not always a problem...), his illness is not a problem too (as we see in real life), regs cannot be a problem too (as this is nearly the end of the world so to speak - who cares about regs in such a situation? And Joker went to Cerberus just to fly (and maybe because of Shepard) so it is pretty clear what he thinks about regs...), furthermore, Joker and Shepard have a history together but this is not even necessary, as it seems that Shepard can have new LIs that she (or he) not even knew before. The only reason I can think of is if Bioware decides that Joker has no interest in a romance at all or doesn't want to be with Shepard (as you can play your Shepard in different ways and with different personalities it is hard to imagine that none of these Shepards would be interesting for Joker). But for what good? It would certainly not affect the story to have him in a relationship with Shepard. So really no idea what would speak against it...

Keep aiming for that 300! I'm a long time lurker for this thread, and would love to see that Jokermance in game. You’ve guys have been so determined, and I’ll know who to thank if it happens.

I... have a lot of problems with Joker/EDI, though I think my issues with it have been touched on before by others here. Still, I would like to voice my thoughts even at the risk of beating the poor dead horse.

To start with some context I know someone with the real life equivalent of Vrolik’s Syndrome. He reminds me a lot of Joker in how he acts and how he can become defensive if his condition is treated like something that stops him from having a normal life and normal relationships. He’s learnt to manage his condition, just like Joker says he has.

It’s because of this that I find the idea that Joker and EDI could be a romantic pair insulting – really, really insulting. It’s like saying the somewhat anti-social ‘cripple’ could never have a chance at a normal, healthy relationship with another human being, so has to settle for an ‘abnormal’ relationship. It also says, to me at least, that no normal person, especially one in a ‘heroic’ position like Shepard, would ever ‘settle’ for someone who has a condition that makes him different or less able.

It’s like saying someone with a condition like Joker isn’t worthy of ‘normal’ human affections, and that he can only settle for the ship. Which... makes for a pretty mean-spirited message to me. It’s like telling my friend that the only one that would ever bother with him is his laptop, and I know if anyone told my friend that I would punch them in the teeth. Just the fact that I hear EDI is getting a body kind of makes me wish.... she was off my Normandy. It’s a shame because I really liked her, but if she’s going to have a body just so she can send a message that those that fall outside ‘normal’ can only settle for their computers...

If Joker/EDI happens it will make me regret ever suggesting the series to my friend, because I don’t want to see him hurt that the character he identifies with is going to be paired with the AI.

Uh... that ended up more ranty than I meant it too. I'm sorry. D:

Even if EDIxJoker happens I hope it's optional so your friend can at least avoid seeing it...if it must be in the game.
