Thanks, Pika!
Are you guys going to use your first ME3 play through with your Joker hopefuls to find out if he has a romance or not?
EDIT: ToP Joker!

Jokerites, we are all in agreement. Viggorah's sigs are gorgeous, Sabrea's art is fabulous, and Superpineapple's gif tells the story of us all.
I want every dev to see that gif, if only because it's hilarious--I think even someone who disagreed completely would laugh and be able to understand why we feel this way. I mean, I still love them, and I even have faith that the whole will be greater than its rough draft parts, but DEAR GOD, what were they thinking?
I can't imagine a worse scenario. It's a blatant, cheap BSG ripo--I mean, reference (not that I didn't love BSG), and exploitation of Tricia Helfer when I was so impressed that they did NOT use her that way in ME2, and an insult to disabled people all at the same time. It's also... SO not realistic as a plot device. SO shallow and immature as a relationship. SO much the antithesis of the thoughtful science fiction I thought Mass Effect was.
Apparently all it takes is for boys to take a look at Tricia Helfer and their brains soar out the window along with their good sense, landing in the yard with a deafening, icky splat. And yes, I CAN blame them for it.
I'm going to miss actual!EDI which existed as a character apart from Joker's bizarre libido. This imposter is creeping me out before I've even seen it. Apparently they played Joker for comedy instead of having him be the character we enjoyed so much for his subtle depths alongside his humor. Now, unless things have drastically changed, he's just a clown. I don't know how I'll take him seriously and not be grossed out at the cheap parody of himself that he's become, even in the serious scenes.
I guess I'll be missing Joker, too. I hope there's enough else to distract me. Maybe I just expect more than I've gotten before. It's sad. I thought this game would be the one-upper, the game that blows the other two out of the water, and NOT just on a gameplay and soundtrack and graphical level. Now... I just don't know. If I take this one decision out of context, then I start to think ugly thoughts, especially after how the leak-readers talk. Did they really go Paragon=good, Renegade=bad like some were fearing? Is TIM a cartoon villain instead of a sympathetic one?
All the emotional moments that I loved in the beta and trailers... have those moments for Shepard cost us quality and/or quantity of the characters we loved the most? Did they really not listen after ME2 when we said we wanted more closeness with the characters and not less? Did they change their minds about the VS mattering much?
Ugh, I need to go to bed. I'm in a depressive mood.I'll sleep on it and see if it goes away. Take care, everyone. I enjoy peeking in here even when I have to study and can't say as much as I normally do.

Me too! Hmmm, what's a good Joker topic that's not depressing? XDphantomdragoness wrote...
Meh, I still think it's an old draft. The demo it was ripped from was old as heck and barely finished. And BioWare knows what we like and what we hate.
But let's move on from such depressing things, shall we? Seth Green DID say we were going to be happy, so...that gives me hope.

Yay! and congratz on the LCM SR2. It's freaking awesome you did that, and won- you were kinda goin out on a limb, I mean "Stop making Rice Krispy Spaceships" isn't a standard New Year's resolution. Gotta feel bad for everyone else who got diabetes for nothing though.CDRSkyShepard wrote...

I dunno Wynne, I think getting down and depressed about things isn't the way to go about it. Though, I share your sympathies 100%.
In the end, Shepard is the most important character, and it's Shepard's story. I, for one, am glad they decided to make Shepard more emotional and overall, better. It probably didn't cost them anything, because they've probably done that for all the characters. It's going to be an overall very emotional story. I can tell you that from what I've read so far, no one is getting terribly neglected in ME3, and the VS will be a big deal. No, they can't bring every character back as big and as involved as every other one, because each character has their place in the story...and geez, there's only 20 of them. They have also told us many times that all paragon decisions won't necessarily give you the best, shiny ending.
Sometimes I feel really weird about that. Common sense tells me that only a weird minority would actually like Joker/EDI in practice rather than theory, but common sense isn't always right. Who says we're a major fan base? People love Joker, but do they love Joker/Shepard? Supposedly FemShep players are only 20% in the first place. Then you split that for Kaidan, Thane, and Garrus...CDRSkyShepard wrote...
And, who knows? I'm not convinced that leaked beta script is as rough a draft as they're saying it is, but you never know. Hopefully someone got smart and realized that they'd p*ss off a major fan base if they didn't include the romance, especially at the expense of new characters like Vega, and they did what they could.
You mean... this quote? "Joined by the awesome @TruTriciaHelfer for our 2nd round of #ME3phantomdragoness wrote...
