As it was stated before, I also imagine Jeff to be rather traditional in his eating. Since I'm not American, I could only assume what he'd like. Plus, my Snowflake Shepard is a vegetarian, so she'd propably order him a giant mountain of tofu XD

Hmh, I don't see Joker as vegetarian but I think he would at least try to eat tofu and maybe discover that it is not as bad as he thought but I think he will still prefer meat....

He needs meat to build up his muscles. Also think he'd despise milk.

Kindergarten teacher: Drink up your milk, Jeffrey. It's good for your health and strengthens your bones!
Toddler Joker: F*** you!

@Eliantariel: I also think he'd follow traditional diet. I didn't aim to be controversial with my previous comment about my Shep being vegetarian :)

Anyway, I'm wondering if Joker has to take some sort of medication (or at least some calcium supplements) to improve his condition. He said that Vrolik's sydrome is treatable, but he didn't specify it. He also mentioned the pills, but I believe he was talking about pain-killers.
Their medicine is more advanced that they may have different methods to deal with britle bone disease like, say, radiation therapy or chemotherapy. (I'm not a doctor, so I'm not sure it would work).
Sweet, poor Joker. Let us hug him already, BioWare!

Haha I totally disagree with you, I reckon he'd be one of those guys that goes to the fridge and drinks the last of the milk just as your making up your cereal and then you get mad but you can't stay mad cos he has a cute milk mustache...

Oh yes I can see that too - and I would really like to see it in ME3 - a nightly encounter in the kitchen

It wasn't controversial - I think some of my Sheps would likely be vegetarian too. It is just that I imagine Joker to be more happy about a steak than tofu B)

Concerning his treatment: good question, we know that Dr. Chakwas treats him but what exactly she is doing whe don't know. I think healing fractions and small injurys of course but what else.... really no idea.

But as we normally see Joker only sitting in the cockpit there is not much where he could injure himself. Especially in ME2 after he received obviously some kind of treatment by Cerberus and has now a improved condition.

Hell - the deep fall during the escape from the collectors didn't even hurt him.

Maybe he is still very careful about his condition because he has not discovered yet that he can take quite more than before.

XD Omg you made me laugh so hard I started crying! I can honestly imagine that happening!

But I can imagine Joker sneaking to the mess hall in the middle of the night to chug some milk...

Joker: >_>....<_<....*grabs milk carton and starts chugging*
Shep: *sitting at table, watching* Er....Joker?
Joker: Oo *spit take; quickly stuffs milk back in fridge* Um, uh...hi...commander.
Shep: ...Finish the milk.
Joker: No, I'm okay. I just-
Shep: No, I mean after that little spit take you did, most of it went right back into the carton. Just take the entire thing with you, and remind me to buy more when we get back to the Citadel. *sighs* I was wondering why we were going through the milk so fast...

Currently the most helpful medications in osteogenesis imperfecta are bisphosphonates (like Actonel), which help prevent bone loss.  They take calcium and Vitamin D supplements as well.

From what I can tell, the most promising research right now has to do with transplanting adult stem cells intravenously.  Physical therapy is also supposed to be extremely helpful.  If I had to guess, I would say Chakwas would mostly be responsible for monitoring his physical therapy and gives him regular injections of whatever stem cell preparation they'll be able to make in 2154.  And treating any fractures, of course.

Not sure what Chakwas does to help. but I rather hope Mordin seriously puts some effort into finding something to help Joker, if not cure him outright.

I think Joker would prefer a steak too. Or maybe a burger with an honest-to-God-dead-cow. Image IPB

I wonder if the writers thought this would be funny or just wanted to tease - I don't expect Joker to be suddenly cured in ME3.

I am glad that his condition has improved in ME2 but if there is no cure in ME3 I am not disappointed - he is awesome as he is and maybe his condition even had an influence on becoming the best pilot.

Maybe if he hadn't been born with this illness he would have taken a different career.

If Shepard has a romance with Tali or Garrus they have to be careful too, so I think a romance with Joker would not be so complicated - they just have to be a little careful that's all.

It's kinda nice to go on my Twitter page and see Mr. Green calling his wife "his love" and everything. Gives me hope in the world. XD

@ Eliantarial: Joker is awesome as he is. His condition made him strive to prove that he was more than just the sickly guy with the creaky legs. I wouldn't mind at all if he was cured - I'd actually be happy so Joker wouldn't have to worry about it anymore, or wonder if it would carry on to his kids, or be in pain. But no cure, no big deal. :D

Kinda off topic: Do y'all think it's odd if a Ruthless Shep is a Paragon? I'm trying to go down that path in my no-romance-but-Joker playthrough - it's a little strange, and I'm finding it kinda hypocritical when she tells Garrus not to sacrifice innocents to achieve the goal. Maybe Bel just learned from her choice and regrets it, or maybe she felt she had to do what she did on Torfan because there was no other way. I'm kinda going for the latter, and since she's a Spacer I'd imagine she would have considered dozens of possibilities before resorting to sacrificing her squad and killing the slavers.
