Here's the funny about Joker/EDI.

I ...like EDI's development. I like that EDI is interested in Joker. It's kind of cool, from an "Are AI's really intelligent, sapient beings" perspective.

I just hate what it does to Joker. The guy who was all "Oh that's why I don't date crew" now wants to date his ship? Couldn't that end equally (if not more) catastrophically badly? She's your ship! She refers to herself as part of the crew! I just don't get why Joker would do the sudden about-face.

And when I get to that scene with MacKenzie and he turns her down in what is a pretty gentle way from someone who claims not to like people, she's gonna let him be happy and have a rebound fling with Allers just to relieve 3 years of tension. And my fanfic will end up being how I think it should have ended up.

They made Joker look really creepy in ME3, they should have kept the ME2 model, in some parts his eyes were so wide and white and his mouth didn't close properly it was freaking me out. Hell, EDI looked more human then he did.

I finally twigged what was bugging me about ME3 Joker, he didn't appear to have lips (I can't recall if he appeared to have no lips in the first two games but it was really apparent in ME3)

i still love joker, the only thing i didn't enjoy is how every one comments and EDI's body and they liked it ect. and then all of a sudden Joker wants to be with her... for some reason i can't get passed him calling her mom in ME2. I was disappointed that there was no romance with shepard, i mean i got over edi having a body i just don;t think i will ever fully accept edi and joker

In my PT I got a line about regs and him not being Kaidan (on another forum it set one of the more excitable Kaidan fans off about the writers character bashing Kaidan, granted she flipped her lid at someone because they said 'I like Ashley slightly more than Kaidan')

It was probably because I romanced Kaidan in ME1

Of course they can change their minds, but if Joker is supposed to be so set on not dating crew, while EDI IS part of the crew, it contradicts himself. His reason for not dating Shepard is the chain of command. I just think there should have been at least more of an emotional involvement considering Shepard died for the guy, meanwhile he falls for EDI after what... a whole minute? 

The biggest issue I have with EDI is how oversexualized she is. I can understand why it's there, I don't mind there being sexiness... But when you go through the trouble of creating ******, it just destroys my whole idea of what that character is supposed to represent. 

My main point is, I can not take EDI seriously. So for a character like Joker, who has always seemed hellbent on having people know his own beliefs and sticking to himself, it seemed like an unnatural turn in personality. EDI's AI philosophy purpose is noted, and acceptable, but the romantic sidetrack she was thrown on is utterly ridiculous. You might as well be able to romance Legion.

I have to agree with VeoLu; EDI is crew, and regardless of whether she is outside the official chain of command, a relationship with her would be just as influential on the CoC (hurrhurr) as a relationship with Shepard would be. EDI is still, by all intents and purposes, the Normandy. Joker is the Normandy's pilot. There is no relationship more inappropriate if we're talking regulations and complicating things. The fact that he chooses her over Shepard shows that he's not at all interested in decorum. More likely he's plain not interested in Shepard, but that still strikes me as odd. He's the only one who's been there for the Commander, and the only one who doesn't lean on Shepard but ONLY tries to support him/her. They could have had an amazing relationship. Instead... EDImance. Because that's what the fans wanted, right?

I agree with the last two posts. EDI even says she is part of the crew in ME2. I like EDI. She is super cool! But, I hate that I had hope for a Jokermance, and had my heart broken! (Pun intended)

Yeah, I admit, I shot them down in game. If I can't date Joker, no one should date Joker!!! But they slipped it past anyways. :-(

Anyway, I'm at the point where I decide if EDI and Joker get together in my second playthrough. I don't think I can go through letting them be together... *tear*

I tried that ONCE. It was so sad to see Joker so disappointed I had to reload the citadel cerberus mission because his reaction was awful. Just a heads up

He gets pouty and doesn't do anything...

If you encourage him to date EDI, he actually goes up to the dance floor and dances. If not, he "guards the bar" with EDI sitting at a table that he is looking directly at... :/

I support EDI/Traynor. Give Joker to FemShep.

Joker seemed very foolhardy in this game and the EDI romance arc seemed to have a lot to do with it.

As if forcing us to experience the Joker/EDI romance wasn't enough, our Femsheps are teased with a possibility to romance Joker, only for him to shoot it down due to regs of all things.

Well, fie I say! FIE! *crosses fingers for that rumored Romance DLC to include a jokermance*

And Joker... you ran. You turned tail and fled. How dare you? *still in his angry dome*

At least the NormandyBall provides some comfort!

I didn't think his letdown reaction was that bad, to be honest...maybe I'm heartless. XD

Oh, I can keep them apart without a second thought. I'm saving him from a world of broken bones.
I couldn't however, hit the button to let them be together. It's not Joker's character to date the ship cause she's hot... I couldn't let him do that to himself.

I didn't think it was that bad. Then again, I've never seen his reaction if I let them get together, so maybe my view's a little one-sided. /shrug

He's definitely a lot happier with EDI. For instance, if you allow him to date her, he'll go up to the dance floor and dance beside EDI...though, I'm not letting them get together again. That was my "testing the waters" play through, haha

I hate this. It's like high school all over again...watching your crush get with someone else. XD

I'd just like to know why they put EDI and Joker together...they had to have seen the Jokermance fan base and how large it was...I just want an answer! Why didn't Bioware listen to us?

I think we all do. I want a lot of answers to be honest, but I'll stay on topic. *grumbles*

While I am irritated at the whole Joker/EDI thing, he did have some good parts that I really like.

I have a feeling that it's because somebody at Bioware HQ really wanted to see Joker/EDI happen and thought a Femshep romance would get in the way of all that. That is really the only explanation I can come up with... either that or it was in Seth Green's contract or something...
