You're right about the thread being in need of a new title.

What do you guys think? Should we keep romance in the title even if we couldn't get it? Hmm... and how do we want to go about the OP. As always, this is our thread, I just happend to be the first one to post about Joker when they started this forum.

I'll remove the spoiler-thing, because really, I think all of us know how sad things turned out. But he has some really good scenes, like when he is freaking out about hos overstressed Shepard is.

Even if we didn't get to romance him, he is still our Joker.

Never posted here before, though I've been lurking for ages!
Just wanted to chime in and confess that I also prepared a Jokermancing Shepard before I got ME3 because, as I haven't read any spoilers, I was completely, absolutely, entirely convinced that Joker would be romanceable. IMO, they already laid the groundwork for a fantastic romance throughout ME1/2. They did an amazingly fantastic job with the Kaidan romance, and I'm convinced they could have done the same with Joker considering he's even been there for Shep during her Cerberus days. S/he even died for him! There's just so much potential. It's a shame, really. Heartbroken Jokerite here

Not a fan of EDI/Joker, either. Maybe I would't mind it if BW implemented it better, but as it is the romance felt very unnatural, forced and (based on Joker's lecherous reaction when he first sees EDI's body) a bit creepy, too. And I'm not even getting started on the whole "It's the regs!"-excuse Joker gives Shep while he happily gets it on with ship/crewmate/robot EDI.

Still love Joker though! My Skye Shepard is still hoping for some love in the future, she just won't make it into ME3 til then

I agree, he was funnier in ME2. But you know, war, etc. might impair he's snese of humor.
I think I would like him more in ME3 if there wouldn't be this EDI-thing in game.
Still, it's Joker and I always like him.

I'm thinking the no romance issue was to save money, honestly. I mean, they had Freddie Prince Jr. voice Vega. Even though the guy is a huge fan of Mass Effect, I imagine they paid him a lot; and then you're able to flirt with the guy? With no romance? BioWare just gave us blue balls throughout this entire game.

Actually...no...they spent all their money sexifying a bloody AI whom Joker referred to as "mom."

Strictly speaking Cerberus doesn't have regs about fraternization (Jacob mentions it in 2). But if you react badly to meeting the VS on Horizon Joker can also say something along the lines of  "and that's why I don't date crew." So you won't date crew, but your ship is fair game? What the hell Joker?

Just let him hook up with EDI in my Kaidan-mancing playthrough. He seems happy. Which just irks me more. When I finally get to that scene with Mac she's going to call up Vega and they're going to get thoroughly drunk and then Cortez will have to drag them both back onboard. And then I'll write some fanfic in which Mac and Joker actually have a relationship.

I was so irked when I realized that they just teased us with Joker like they teased us with Vega. I actually had almost finished Kara's playthrough in ME2 when I ran one of my other Sheps through 3 and got that whole 'regs' shut down from our favorite pilot. Why am I stuck writing fanfic for romances that BioWare won't give us? I say romances, plural, because I'm also starting to work on a Shep/Vega fic as well. It's because of this that I'm actually having a hard time getting back into writing Lost and Found because I was just so let down over the situation. I'm actually more upset over this than I am over the endings that had me scratching my head and going "wtf?" y'know?

Ehh well, guess I'll just work on my Garrus romance playthrough and giggle over popping heat-sinks (still in ME2 for this girl). I'm so hoping that the picture that Yunaito88 drew for me of Kara and Joker didn't get the devs thinking that we were wanting EDI/Joker (since too many thought Kara was EDI due to the blonde hair - trying to make her out to be like Tricia Helfer instead of who she's actually created after - Katie Sackhoff's Starbuck character).
