Ahh... I was perhaps a little unclear, sorry about that. I still think that it is something you can discuss, and hope for. There are a lot of people here, and on DeviantArt who hoped for a romance between Joker and Shepard so the OP should perhaps reflect that. But also, in this, the last game it is not available. Not that the message from the OP should be that there is no hope. Rather that it reflects the current situation, we have an amazing guy. Some of us wished for more with him, we don't have any romantic content with him and perhaps we never will, but he's still amazing. Ehh...does that sound better. This is exactly why I shouldnt' go anyway near the OP, lol.

I get what you're saying. I'll word it the best I can. Summed up:

We most certainly still support Joker as well as a Joker Romance
We are still against Joker/EDI
We have concerns about his character in ME3 (ie: obsession with EDI )

I will also try to emphasize that while we dislike Joker/EDI we harbor no ill will towards those who support it, or EDI for that matter. There seems to be a small issue of this of late. We quite simply feel slated and confused.

Anything else?

I certainly support Shepard Joker pairing. I just think EDI/Joker works better in the game world with game logic, which admittedly doesn't hold up well if you use real life logic and common sense to look at it.

Imagine in the real world there exist a girl who is obsessed with unicorns, princes, castles and all of the fairy tale stuff. Her bedroom looks like it belongs in a Disney museum, and she spend all of her free time on internet chat room talking about Sleeping Beauty's Tiara. That would be pretty creepy and you'd worried you were that girl's parents, but if she exist in was in a fictional world you would be 'aww that's cute.'

Now swap in the girl for Joker, and her obsession with fairy tales with Joker's obsession with spaceships and flying them. EDI getting a body and romancing him is like if Prince Charming fell out of the sky one day and start to date that girl I invented. It definitely isn't the most healthy relationship by real life standard, but it's works in-game.

That's my line of thinking anyway.

After weeks of searching, I find this thread once more.

HELLO MY LOVELIES THAT REMEMBER ME.

Since we happen to be discussing EDI/Joker, I must say that the content does not match game logic in my opinion.
Joker, while he tends to listen to X-rated things in the cockpit, never struck me as the type to suddenly hook up with the "person" he thought of as a motherly friend.

It's still my headcanon that Joker and Shepard had feelings for each other, and Joker tried to make her jealous. And then he panicked and goofed up when Shepard attempted to get with him.

And I would be creeped out by the girl if she existed in a game and was Joker's age.

I'm obsessed with ships and flying. Lol. It's not the same obsession, in game our out of game. It's a passion versus an obsession, really.

I think the relationship feels so forced, especially since they seemed very platonic (even if they poked fun at each other, that was just funny, like a Merry and Pippin type duo) until EDI got her body. Now all the sudden Joker is hot and bothered? Um...creepy. Her resemblence to a sexbot makes this even creepier because I'd figure Joker would want to get used to it before developing feelings, not going all horn-dog right away.

Not to mention his rejection line for Shep is SO out of character, it's not even funny. I don't even care that it's a rejection line, necessarily. I think BioWare could do better than, "It's against regs." WUT? So, this is the guy that grows out a beard because he's the best pilot in the fleet and no one would dare tell him to shave it...the guy who ditched the Alliance for Cerberus (Side Note #1: I'm still conviced he cared more about Shepard than he let on because of this, the Alliance was his life), and the guy who LIED (Side Note #2: In the military, integrity violations are a highly, highly punishable offense) to keep an ILLEGAL artificial intelligence onboard? (Side Note #3: I also think this is an implausible scenario, they should have had the Alliance discover EDI, recognize her potential, and just keep hush hush to the Council knowing the Reapers were coming. That's something I could easily see happening given they just swiped the ship from Cerberus.) Something tells me if he wants to jump Shep's bones like he says he does, he wouldn't give a flying frack about "regulations." In fact, sleeping with a superior officer would be the least of Joker's previous infractions...minus the beard. Lol.

Ugh. Just one more reason for me to feel trolled by BioWare.

 I always thought it was a loaded rejection myself, it certainly didn't come off as a simple "I don't like you" as people have said. I have a few head canons for why it went down the way it did, one being perhaps Joker's self esteem. he does cope with humour after all. NOT saying that everyone who copes with issues with humour has bad self esteem it's just...Anyway, bad subject. Anxious perhaps. Could be any number of things.

History being another, they have so much of it. Guilt, perhaps resentment even. Post collector attack, both times actually. I always thought they'd make an interesting couple, he certainly knows what he can get away with because it's Shepard after all, and he's one of the few who has expressed disappointment in her choices to leave him alone with the ship. 
Maybe he thinks she doesn't have the focus for a relationship? 

Anyway I have got a HELUVA ton of Shoker/jokermance/Shepardxjoker fanart and comics that I've drawn and would love to share however, I do not see a button for where I can post this so...Let's see if I can't figure this forum code out and fail spectacularly.

Jupp, I really should not buy any kinds of lottery-tickets. In one PT Jacob dumped me, Vega wouldn't go any further and Joker dislikes uniforms. Ended up drunk on Aria's sofa afterwards. Luckily this FemShep really works great with Traynor. Next time I'm at Purgatory I'll ask Aria if she has seen any nice guys around, my FemShep's are on the lookout. (Love Kaidan and Garrus but how about some variety)

Yeah, it's pissy that they cut out all possible straight guys except for Kaidan and Garrus. Yeah, they're my boys, but I want some more. Preferably a scruffy pilot. Despite my liking of Jacob, I now feel obligated to kill him in the suicide mission in order to keep him in character. Though I am ready to fix that one day. If Bioware will go along.

I think it's nice to have some competition and not have the whole world fall at your feet. I personally never thought Shepard's charm was THAT convincing. If only you could actually have a chance to win. And your rival wasn't a fembot.

Yeah.. the FemShep who ended up with Traynor after being dumped by Jacob could very well have ended up with Joker. Hmm... and truthfully, I really don't see her as the greatest flirt, or too good at reading other people's intentions. It basically has to be something pretty obvious like Traynor's scene for her to get the drift.

If it had been possible to have a convo with something like, perhaps Joker realising his feeling for FemShep right before the big boss-battle so to speak, would you have waited for that? No "fade-to-black". FemShep going by the bridge before leaving Normandy. Joker takes her hand and says something like "Come back to me, ok. You go down there and give them hell but then come back. I didn't mean it.. before. You just took me by surprise. Can we try again?". A epic smootch and then to the finale. Would you have waited for something along those lines?
