Aw it really is.

I've passed the crisis point in ME1! Engineer Shep has firmly turned down Kaidan. Now I just have to send him with the Salarians so Ash actually survives for once and the danger will have passed.

...until ME2 and a certain sparring conversation.

I'm not sure if this has been said already but I'm about 90% about being 100% joker won't be available for male shep, and the reason i feel this way is that seth green's personality heavily influenced joker's dialogue and because seth isn't gay he wont be either.

Holy ****, you scared the **** out of me. As soon as I saw "Joker won't be available" my inner fangril cried like a troubled child who didn't get her way. Disturbing, really.

But you never know, Mr. Green may let it happen - well, he'll have to if BioWare wants it. XD I know a lot of guys are wanting Joker for their romance, so I hope it happens. I'm all for happiness everywhere. XD

It has been said on the ME1&2 Joker romance thread if I remember correctly.

The flaw I see with this reasoning is that while Seth Green may contribute with written or improv dialogue he is still being paid to act out a role. It's his job to pretend. Though I personally don't see Joker being interested in men, attributing Joker's sexual preference to Seth's personal lifestyle is a weak basis for argument, in my opinion.

ETA: The reason I am skeptical that Joker would be gay or even bi have to do with his typical straight guy remarks. Like phantomdragoness said, the "take pictures" comment along with the female porn playing over the bridge speakers and him commenting on Morinth being lithe and sexy lead me to believe that he's strictly into the ladies.

On bi Joker, remember Anders. In "Awakening," one of the things on his list was a "pretty girl." And then in DAII it turned out that he had a relationship with another dude and could be romanced by M!Hawke. Now, this is a different development team with a less shiny track record about M/M romances, but it goes to show that BW doesn't care too much about "retconning"--if it can be called that--certain characters' orientation. If Joker by some miracle happens to be romanceable and bi in ME3, then that could be easily hand-waved just like Anders.

Or this could all be the rambling of someone who's main M!Shep who's been a lonely gay man (in-game; head-canon is different) for two games straight. And if it doesn't happen, there's always the imagination, a Word document, and a keyboard to set everything straight (hurr hurr). Anyways, on that subject I keep my expectations low, just because Joker's mainly given off the impression of being straight. I don't argue with that point.

In other news, that fanart by Gobeur = amazing. I can haz pilot plz?

I dont think they'd have to cover their ass in Joker swinging both ways, he hasnt done anything to indicate his preference only being in women. His listening to a lady moaning in his ear piece doesnt rule out man-love.

Yay =) finally back in the civilized world again. Now the OP is back in case you guys wanted a bit of change. I know that was a topic a few days back when I managed to snag a computer. Hmm... I kind of like to keep it short if possible. Anyways, I got a couple of pages to read up on now =) yay for Joker love.

Hmmm... if we got any kind of word that Joker would be available I think that I could go for a good *squee* or just jumping up and down =) much much joy anyways. How far that energy would go? Enough for my laptop for a week at least!

After sailing a little I could quite picture Joker sailing and being really good at it. Trimming the sails and knowing exactly how to adjust them, when to let go a little. Planning out when to tack or just how close you can go near an island and not get stuck without wind ( I always go too close). Jupp, I could see him doing that. But I don't know if the jumping back and forth when tacking would be good for him. Hmm... what do you guys think that he would do for fun if he wasn't flying Normandy. Or what do you imagine that he would like?

Welcome back - it sounds as if you had a great holiday

We only see Joker sitting in the cockpit - I was already wondering how often he would leave this place and where he sleeps and we had some time ago the question in the ME2 thread if there was a co-pilot or some kind of backup for him because even Joker has to sleep sometimes...

But in his free time I can see him watching vids (sports, music videos, action movies...), listening to music, playing online poker, surfing in the intranet and reading technical e-books and maybe historical/adventure stories.... oh, and spying on the crew of course

Good points with the references to Anders, and Joker acting "super straight" to cover any suspicion. Though I still think he's straight I certainly wouldn't oppose to him being bi -- or gay for that matter. Well... I'd be a little disappointed if he were gay since I want him for my femShep, but I'd get over it by making a maleShep lol. If he's available for romance I'm gonna snag his ass any way I can, that's for damn sure.

As for what Joker does in his off time... that's a good question. I like the idea of him taking up the hobby of model ships in Tiger By My Side. Everybody needs a hobby. EDI's comments suggest that he spends time browsing the net. In my head he likes to play games on his omni-tool.

I would hope that he has some sort of relief for his shift, but I can see him being hesitant about handing over piloting duty to anyone since he's so possessive of "his baby". Still, he's gotta sleep some time and the crew quarters would be the likely spot. I imagine him sleeping there grudgingly, though, since who would want to share a room with ten (or however many) people when they prefer solitude.

I can also see him sailing, funny enough - like it was something he and his father did to get him out of the house.

As for Joker being gay, straight or bi, I wouldn't mind either way. I'd be a little upset of Joker was only available for M!Shep's though. :\\ Watch BioWare make Joker the first and only gay option. Epic troll by BioWare.
