Welcome to the ME3 Joker Romance Thread!

Hello fellow Joker enthusiast! Or troll. Whichever you are, you are welcome here amongst us Jeff “Joker” Moreau fans.

Is this thread restricted to romance discussion? Of course not! Come in here and start up a conversation about our favorite snarky pilot.

STOP!

Before you post, there are a few rules you absolutely must follow! Failure to follow any of them will result in shunning.



The Ten Commandments of the Joker Thread

- Respect each other!
- NO TROLLS ALLOWED. Yes, even you there hiding under the bridge. Shoo.
- If you do not agree with a romance, that’s fine. So long as you have a good reason and are able to
discuss it appropriately, we will be glad to talk with you about it as well.
- Be careful how you phrase things. Simple “Joker’s with EDI” or “Shepard will break Joker” seems like
trolling. We don’t want arguments spanning our beloved thread – we want happy fluffy bunnies. If you are concerned about Joker’s health, or the jealousy of a computer, write it out appropriately and we will be happy to discuss it with you.
- No insults. Insulting people is an immature and petty way of getting your “point” across. We’re all adults here, let’s act like it.
- Bone up on your knowledge of Vrolik Syndrome. Know that people with OI lead normal lives, and our discussions about Joker will get on swimmingly.
- Stalk Seth Green on Twitter.
- Have a sense of humor.
- Be ready to have your mind corrupted.
- Don’t mess with the hair.

The Case for a Jeff “Joker” Moreau LI in Mass Effect 3:

Ah yes, “No new LIs”. The rumor many use in attempt to dismember our hopes. We have dismissed that claim.

Why?

One specific tweet says it all: Tweet!

We all agree Mr. Hudson's tweet supports new LIs in Mass Effect 3, yes?

Now, onto the chaotic black hole which is the possibility of Joker being a LI.

Everyone knows what a black hole is, right? A black hole is formed by the gravitational collapse of a star that has gone supernova; if you get trapped in this black hole, there is no hope for you. You die. Or get sucked in and come out in some parallel universe where Mass Effect exists. Then, a Batarian raid captures you and sells you off as a sex slave to Jabba the Hutt. It could happen, I'm just saying.

The controversy of a Joker Romance has the same, well, force. Information and people are sucked in, but you never get them back. Once someone supports a Joker Romance, there is no convincing them otherwise. We're as stubborn as the Illusive Man once we have our eyes (which are normal) on something we want. There is no Plan B, only Plan A. However, Plan A has this habit of...well...disappearing. We rewrite it over and over again, and yet nobody can find the new copy after a troll stops by. It just doesn't make any sense…wait....oohhh.

Here is where the other part of the "black hole" metaphor comes in. We have explained our stance hundreds of times, but it goes in one black hole and out the other. Information is simply lost - as is a Joker fan's sanity after dismembering the EDI/Joker *Turian air quotes* "relationship" hundreds of times. No matter how often we explain our stance for a Joker Romance, trolls come by with some great original quip they think will dismember our desire for this development.




We are, however, confident in our endeavor. Normandy’ pilot deserves to have a romance in Mass Effect 3. There are several reasons (and wishes), which we believe will convince BioWare, and hopefully you, that Joker needs love – and more screen time! Remember, this thread is not restricted to romance – we support more Joker for anything and everything!

Reasons to Fight for Joker Love!

- Joker is loyal and trusts Shepard without question. Shepard and Joker have been to hell and back together...twice.
- Shepard died to save Joker, and this should make a closer relationship a real possibility. There is undeniable close camaraderie between Shepard and Joker.
- He's funny and can make you laugh. What better quality is there in a LI?
- They have common ground: they're both the best in the galaxy at what they do!
- There has been a lot of build-up in the Shepard/Joker friendship. Logically, this gives the pair the potential for a deep, satisfying relationship.
- OI (Vrolik’s Syndrome) is a real condition suffered by real people. They get married, have children, and become
productive members of society. This should not be an excuse to limit Joker's role as a LI or in general.
- We can't be the only ones who love his pretty green eyes!
- cocky pilots are sexy. This is a fact. We want it. Examples: Atton Rand (Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic), Han Solo (Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope), and Major Don West (Lost in Space).
- Seth Green is amazing. Give him more to do!
- Joker can't be killed off. There should be some reward for his resilience!
- He's new and improved (thanks to Cerberus upgrades); let's see what he's capable of now that he can
walk!
- Joker flew a frigate against a Reaper and through a minefield. He deserves a medal and more opportunities. More epic space battles, please!
- He and EDI are Shepard's unstoppable team, more banter is needed!
- A lot more with Shepard is desired.Besides the obvious aforementioned topics of a romance and more interaction, we also want more interaction between Joker and crew.
- We want to see more information about Joker and his background.
- Who is the relief pilot? Is he/she also the shuttle pilot? Or is Joker too epic for one?
- How did Joker react when Shepard died? We want to see that in more detail.
- What happened to Joker after Shepard died? Where did he go? What did he do? How did he end up with
Cerberus? Why was he grounded with the Alliance? How did Joker feel when he found out about the Lazarus Project?

Do we know for absolute certain that ME3 will have a Joker romance? No.



HOWEVER!

Quite a few specific tweets give us hope.

Does it say in these tweets that Joker will be an LI? No. BioWare doesn't hand out information like a Hanar preaching his religion. Joker fans look for simple clues to support our theory and hope for a Joker-mance. Nevertheless, we know for certain Mr. Hudson is teasing Joker fans with this possibility. We can only hope it turns out in our favor.

Things to Note:

We do not support Joker/EDI. Know that if you post something such as “Joker’s with EDI”, we will tear it apart…for the millionth time. We have absolutely nothing against you – just the pairing. We love EDI. Just not Joker/EDI.



We support straight and/or bi Joker. Come in here guys and swoon all you want!



 People with OI can have sex. Osteogenesis imperfecta usually shows its effects on the longer, thinner bones of the body, usually the limbs and ribs, where the bones are  softer and weaker. The pelvis is a very thick bowl-shaped ring of hard,  flat bone which resists fractures more easily than the other bones in  the body. Meaning: no pelvis crushing.




We love Joker art, fanfiction, screen shots, and videos. Be on the look-out, and post them! (So long as these images follow forum rules! We do have innocents wandering around here.)

@phantom: I love it, especially the Ten Commandments. "Stalk Seth Green on Twitter" is my favorite. And someone should make shirts/posters/something along the lines of "Better yet, if you are a part of BioWare and don’t mind losing your job, tell us if Joker is an LI or not already!". XD

Maybe the first spongebob and the last gif could be removed so that it is not too much (didn't somebody told us in this thread that mods don't like too much gifs?). We really could use some Joker gifs - I will check if I can make one or two that would fit.

To get it complete we can add some of our banners for people to select from. We have several of the classic and some new banners that we can use.

And maybe some links for awesome Joker pics and videos, we can check the ME2 thread for those.

@CeltWolf79: there are so really great pics of your Kara Shep and Joker. The one that Nam posted is so beautiful and hawt and really perfect... we should tweet it to Casey and tell him that this is what we want...speaking of screenshots we would like to see....

And, an interesting point that I didn't notice until now; in the "kromance" tweet that Casey may or may not have confirmed a Jokermance in, I noticed that Raving_Ranter included, and I quote, "gr8 relationship moments, some of my Sheps wanna get wed," which Hudson semi-confirmed (kromance aside).

So, lemme get this straight; did the Bioware Loremaster himself just semi-confirm the possibility of marriage in ME3? Okay, I know I've posted this reaction picture dozens of times over... ahh, one more won't hurt!

Don't be upset about it. You will never find a character that everyone loves and some people are overreacting because they think it is Jokers fault that we had to skip 2 years and to work with Cerberus...

And really: everytime I see the ME2 intro I am just thinking how stupid Shepard acts. Instead of going into the escape pod together with Joker Shep is watching how the ship gets destroyed by the collectors...

I can imagine that Joker was really thinking that he can save the crew time for escaping - I don't know how much control he had left over the Normandy after the attack but that he is no one easy to give up we already know since ME1.
