Just popping in here. Doesn't Joker say that he doesn't date crew because of the uncomfortable break ups,ect. ?

I second Fluffenstein. He's covering up what he feels for Shepard, especially since s/he just came off of a really bad reunion with their significant other on Horizon. He wouldn't want to complicate things or take the chance of shoving his foot in his mouth if he blurted out his feelings too soon. He's the kind that I think he'd make sure of how Shepard feels before making himself vulnerable to him/her.

I'm curious about something does Joker ever call Shepard Shepard or is it always Commander or ma'am?

Keeping things professional does play rather nicely into the hidden feelings idea.

I also agree with Fluffenstein and CeltWolf79. Also, I would think that Joker, after  working so hard to get where he is now, is a bit wary about a relationship muddying things up. Since he's developed such a rapport with Shepard, though, I bet he just uses his professionalism as a shield for his feelings for her.

and @FlamingFlying V: I didn't have Kaidan for my first playthrough of ME2, but my sister did. When I heard Joker say that I was like "Ow....my heart."

@Ser Bard : Yeah, at least once I know for sure. After recruiting Jack, he says something like, "Okay, Shepard, glad you're back..." and something else. I forget. But, yes, he does

Some like to be optimisitic, others skeptical, others bouncing off the walls. The latter is me. XD

But I agree - I like to think Joker has had feelings for Shepard but never saw a right time to express what he felt, or he always ended up putting his foot in his mouth:

Joker: Hey commander. It's uh...pretty crazy the people you can run into out here, huh? I mean, it was probably a set up or something, but it was still good to see Kaidan - Staff Commander Alenko, wasn't it?
Shepard: We talked. It was nice but things have changed. We let it go.
Joker: Oh good, because I was NOT looking forward to your mood if that went bad. There's a reason I don't date crew, Commander.
Shepard: *sigh* Yeah, you're probably right. Doesn't make it any better, but I see your point. Well, that's it for now Joker. Thanks.
Joker: See yah, commander.
Shepard: *walks away*
Joker: ...*turns chair* "This is why I don't date crew". Nice work, Jeff. Got another piece of advice to stick up your ass and regret later?
EDI: Mr. Moreau, your heart rate is escalated again. Shall I inform Dr. Chakwas?
Joker: No, EDI!
EDI: This reaction occurs after your interractions with Shepard. Perhaps speaking with the commander will-
Joker: No, EDI! Damnit, if you don't shut up about my heart rate I will flash the AI Core!

Seriously, though, this conversation is just fantastic!  Reminds me a slight bit of the convo EDI and Joker have in my fanfic where she's telling him he's not in the right physical or mental state to be performing the maneuvers required to pull them out of the Citadel dock and she's explaining how his heart rate is elevated and how is blood is pooling in a certain area... and he's all "Damnit, EDI, I know where my blood is pooling, thank you!"

What exactly do you mean by ninjamanced?  Do you mean to not romance anyone in either game?

Yeah, you can! Know the conversation where he apologizes for rambling? Choose the bottom right option, and the rest of your conversations will unwrap like M!Shep.

His comment is worrisome, but I hope she tells him--in the words of Garrus Vakarian--"maaake an exception... just this once." Plus, I hope he's at a point in his life where he sees the Commander as more than just "crew." Also, I'm one of those people that hope that he's just covering up his feelings for her, seeing it as an inappropriate time to reveal them.

I still haven't even gotten close to finishing my ME1 playthrough for Joker where I'm going to kill off Kaidan. >_> Though, if ME3 has a beginning like they did for the PS3 ME2 then I might not have to just for the sake of saving me from crying needlessly. (Not that I'd actually cry or anything, it'd just be super hard for me to kill Kaidan off. I'd rather not have to make that choice in-game. That, and I still need a playthrough where Ash actually lives.)

Maybe I'll just use the game where I romanced Kaidan, then Thane to romance Joker if he's available just to see how that ends up. Man... that Shepard of mine is a hussy. :3c

For most of my playthrough's I usually keep Kaidan alive due to romancing him, for my Joker FemShep I really at one point want to keep Ashley but I can tell I will have trouble making the decision.
But I think the dynamic of romancing Joker after being with Kaidan could be interesting but I really don't know if I could do it either (I'm such a sap when it comes to romance). I'm so indecisive. I would just use the comic but I'm worried about missing cameos such as Conrad. So many playthrough's to do!

If Joker wasn't so funny and sexy this wouldn't be a problem haha
