As a handicapped man, Joker is my second favorite character (first going to Shepard but he is an extension of me, so...). I dunno if it would be safe for Shepard to get intimate with him (I personally can understand the issues) but BioWare made Tali possible so logic and health concerns aren't necessarily set in stone. I honestly don't care for a romance at all, but I want his role expanded further (like how in ME2 his role was bigger than ME1 in my book, I want it to grown more).

Hmm...to me that sounds positive. Maybe he's cured or...something? Promoted? Idk. If he is cured, I hope BioWare finds a damn good reason.

As for the tweet concerning Mr. Green and EDI's voice actress, I doubt that is hinting a Joker/EDI relationship. They're laughing like crazy in the picture - I bet there is a bunch more bickering and teasing between them (especially if there is a Joker/Shep romance). It all depends on how you read it. Besides, I honestly don't think BioWare would have a human/computer relationship. S/S and human/alien is all they've done, and it's already controversial enough. I doubt BioWare would want to be accused of *turian air quotes* "encouraging" robot fetishes.

Yes, I can be annoyingly optimistic. I will keep believing there will be a Joker romance in ME3 until they say otherwise.

I hope that the amazing thing happening to Joker is that he's becoming a romance option. But I've learned not to expect anything out of the romance front anyways. (Hope that BioWare ends up surprising me.)

On a more topical note, I think a new highlight color would be more feasible than icons. Flirtatious dialogue doesn't happen enough to really warrant setting up a new system when the majority of his options are still just Paragon-Neutral-Renegade-Moreinfo-I Should go now. A pink or green highlight would be a lot easier to implement.
Mind you I think more accurate summaries on the dialogue wheel and fewer romancable characters in total would probably fix the ninjamance issue just fine. The writers got stretched a bit thin in ME2 and the characters suffered for it.

Hmmm... I like the highlights-idea   =)   that could work with ME. But fewer romancable characters apparently doesn't help me because I often get -manced in ME. Guess I'm just really really bad at getting the mood in some of the lines. Let's hope that ME3 will be easier to navigate    =)

Oki guys, I'm going with the Joker/EDI-fun-banter thing because everything else is just too sad. Plus I think that they have really fun banter so it can very well be great. Hope EDI get's the opportunity to tease him about following Shepard on the camera, saying her name in his sleep or something silly like that.

I was just talking about the wait until March 6 with my best friend (who I got hooked on ME2 and Jokermance XD *victory dance*) earlier today. Buying ME2 almost tanked my grades for the semester. I don't even want to think about what ME3's gonna do to them. Especially if there's the option to jump Joker. Oh my, there goes my GPA...

@ viggorrah: Just take a few days off to get it out of your system, maybe? That's what I did for Dragon Age 2 when I realized how it was prioritizing my life at that point. I took two days off school saying I had the flu, and just played DA2 until I finished it. I felt MUCH better. When I get a new game, I sit down and PLAY like a boss. Oh merlin, I can't imagine what ME3 will require. I'll probably take my time with it.

Well dudes, if he's had the wrap as Joker then that means that he's pretty much in carbonite now for what happens in ME3.
I'm sure the writers and BW have listened to us. There's no need to get in a tizzy and freak out about a couple words, honestly.

I am sure that at the very least, the issue will be addressed with canon, if not fulfilled. But you know, I think it will be. We've been loud enough, we've certainly been remarked about by writers -- We weren't shy about dropping hints.

I think we should be happy -- A lot of actors don't drop any hints about production at all, and here he is dropping us a preproduction picture and saying we're gonna be super happy. Not only do I think he 'gets it' when it comes to us fans of his character, I think he'd love to tell us if he could. So come on dudes, chin up.

Well I probably will, but I'm in college so a) I have no idea what my schedule will be like once 2012 rolls around, which sucks, and it's on me if I go to class for lectures or not.  But I mean if I actually do go to school (which I doubt) I won't be paying attention; I'll be thinkin about all the Joker-lovin' my Shepard could be engaging in at the time (hopefully!).

I agree with Sorrel. BioWare is REALLY good with keeping tabs with their fans (I've tweeted Daivid Silverman, and he's replied twice ), and they absolutely know we want a Joker romance. They have teased us with the concept multiple times - a few vague tweets shouldn't undo our skeptical optimism (how's that for an oxymoron?). Plus, even Mr. Green doesn't like the possibility of romancing a computer; at least that's what I go from one line in an interview. We have people dropping in every day saying they support the romance, or just broadening Joker's role; Mr. Green has 12 hours of dialogue, and that is a LOT of words to read off a page. How much dialogue did Joker have in ME2? Four, six? 12 is a big number. Imagine the possibilities in 720 minutes.

I'm hopeful, and I have a good feeling about it. It's the final game, and BioWare wants to make it epic for us. I'm pretty sure they'll give us what we want.

I am actually very curious as to what Mr. Hudson is going to announce at Comic Con. I want to go so badly if he is going to lead a march to the convention AND make an announcment for all the fans. Alas, San Diego is way on the other side of the U.S. from me.

@viggorrah: I'm in college too and that didn't stop me. lol I'm kidding. I'm still waiting for my new college to get my application out of purgatory...bastards don't know what's up or down. So, I'm in the same boat with you - don't know what my schedule will be like, so I can only hope for something un-critical where I won't feel guilty for playing hookie.

I'm insanely curious at what he's going to announce. (Plus they get OmniBlades!!! ) "something significant for all the Shepards" sounds...I don't know. But I wanna know. Now. Is it Saturday yet? It's what, three states from me? But alas, I'm broke.

@phantomdragoness: Ah, well then I feel silly for explaining.  But it won't really matter what I have going on; I'll be staying home and playing ME3 until I finish it. I'll have time to feel guilty about skipping class later.

Oh, I'm with you, there (playing new games like a boss). The only thing I can't relate with is having them prioritize my life. It will always come second to the major things. However, I'm fooling myself into telling myself that I'm going to pick up the game from Gamestop on my way home come midnight March 6th (I work swing shift) and maybe play it for an hour tops and go to bed... but you fellow forumites, me, and my friend that introduced me to Mass Effect knows that it just won't happen; I'll most likely pull an all-nighter and get NO sleep and probably play it up until I have to go to work that day!

*sniff* Okay... I'll retain a sliver of optimism (but just a sliver). I don't want to unintentionally crash at every possible hint against a Jokermance. I just gotta get my reasonable hope mode going again to where I'll be like this if we get a Jokermance:

Yeah, that about sums it up! But seriously, Sorrel's words are wise. We shouldn't call it quits, yet! These are just our interpretations of vague hints given by the actors. Bioware could surprise us to the point of making our heads explode... I'm talking about a hopefully unexpected point where Joker drops his guard in ME3 and hopefully mutters those three magical words... and no, I'm not talking about "See ya, Commander."

OK, Sorrel and phantomdragoness convinced me to stay possitive! I think the forumites tend to over-analyse everything and search for hidden meaning in every sentece (Or maybe it's just me). I'm glad that BioWare seems to care about its fan-base and is to some extent eager to communicate with us (i.e. tease us).

@phantomdragoness, I'm curious about Comic Con, too. It would great if we get to see more Joker! Maybe a screenshot with a new hat... or without a T-shirt XD

Video games don't prioritize my Life, they kinda take up the mantel when they're new.

I do get obsessed, though. New video games make my ADD go "SHINY" and I become so focused on
finishing the new shiny game. But if ME3 comes out on a work/school day, I will call in sick (unless there's something important going on) because there is no way in hell I will be able to concentrate properly on anything until I have popped that game's cherry (and make sure Joker is a freakin' LI)!

Scenario: "Where's the little heart icon when I talk to him....THERE IT IS OMFG YES." *joygasm, eat, get three hours of sleep, go to work/school, come home, obsess some more, repeat*

My obsession is WAAAAYYYY more under control than it used to be. I started seeing trinities everywhere after playing Kingdom Hearts for two weeks straight. I don't want to go back to that. Not fun. *inhales* Not heatlhy.
