But I honestly think Sorrel can't say anything, and she's a bit down over the news; that's obvious since she hasn't visited for a couple days. We shouldn't pressure her to reveal anything no matter how much we want to know. Whatever it is, it has been written down, recorded, and put in the game. Mr. Hudson said it's too late in production to change anything now. We'll just have to accept it, and prepare ourselves for the worst.

If there is no romance, we'll get over it. We have fanfiction - which sounds like utter crap now, but in the end it helps.

If it's something else like Joker betraying us (by his own free will or not), or dying, then yeah we'll be pissed; but if there is a romance then we have that bit of happiness before the storm.

Plus, we have other LIs. I have Garrus to look forward to.

I'll just have to find someone else for my Spacer Shepard if there is no Joker romance. <_<

Hmm...I wonder if James Vega or Zaeed will be available...

If Pat is saying something story-crucial about Joker (which only about 44 people know, not limited to Bioware employees), we'll find out eventually. Secrets get spread fast on the internet.

I think a few tweets may have just been taken out of context. Will reserve further discussion on the matter until Sorrel returns and sets the record straight.

I seriously think you guys are taking this far out of proportion. You don't know what was said. You don't know if it's something she can make mention of or not - and honestly, since she doesn't work for BioWare, even though she somehow was special enough to make it on what's his nutz's private list, Sorrel can say whatever she wants. As far as I know, there's no confidentiality contract you have to sign just to get on someone's tweet list, no matter who the person is.

You're working yourselves up over something you don't even know about and spreading the paranoia. And honestly? This is really killing my ability to step into Kara and Joker right now for their story because of all of the negativity going on over here. I come here to share the Joker love and try to shout loud and proud that he's my favorite NPC and that I want him as an LI but this... this is just beyond depressing what you guys are just assuming.

And what someone mentioned before... even though the person made his tweets private, he still has non BioWare personnel on his list, so he cannot, in all honesty, say anything in regards to the game that might spoil things for the fan and player base because that would be the same thing to making it public - and I'm sure those who are all "Oh Joker's for EDI" or "Better make sure you don't break Joker's pelvis" would really be shouting stuff in here because I'm sure one of them probably made it on that guy's list as well.

Was trying to establish this in my last post. I'm gonna try to help extinguish this fire I helped to feed.

We just need to put a pin in this topic for now. Just let's all understand that we're in a tight spot as far as our hopes for a Jokermance in the next game are concerned. Any hint (no matter how vague) concerning Joker as an LI (or any info about Joker, whatsoever) from the people over at Bioware is a powder keg.

Thanks for trying Omega. I honestly think I have to step away from this thread for a while because of all this. When people's emotions are affecting my ability to step into my favorite couple and write, that's when I need to back up and go elsewhere. Doesn't hurt that the Chicago Comic Con is coming up next week and I'll be spending my time there... and anyone who might be there and interested in meeting up, feel free to contact me and we'll set something up.

If you guys want to express your thoughts on the matter you're absolutely entitled to. It doesnt make you headless chickens, it makes you devoted. No ones cutting off their hair and mailing it to bioware, no ones sending hate mail to the writers, no ones protesting outside biowares head quarters and throwing stuff at staff as they drive in. If people want to fear the worst, thats fine, some can fear the worst and some can hope for the best, its your opinion and you're entitled to it. Im a pessimist, others are optimists. Nothing wrong with that.

I think people need to remember that you CANT judge someones feelings on the internetz. So accusing people of being melodramatic and being ridiculous is just wrong. Because you cant tell.
Just because they've typed something doesnt mean theyre running around flapping in real life.

And lets remember they're not breaking any forum rules. So for that reason alone, thats that . Ranting 'calm down' posts just come across as patronising, so lets remove that negativity at the least.

Anyway, thats my two cents.

Now lets get back to discussions!

Concerning Joker LM: I agree with Namira that Joker does not need a LM, but I would really like to see him as temporary squadmate in ME3, or something similar like ME2 where you can play as Joker. He is not fit for combat but some kind of stealth mission would be fine - maybe helping Shepard escape or something similar.

I really hope they have much more real banter with Joker, I mean where you not only listen to his comments but actually be able to respond. And I want to see him out of his seat on the bridget/cockpit - maybe getting something to drink or to eat in the kitchen or talking with other crew members and Shepard can maybe join this talk....

A big old yes to seeing him out of his seat =) we already know that he spends a lot of time in the cockpit *duh*   =) but it would be great to run into him somewhere else.

Some kind of stealth-mission. Yes, I could see that happening. I'm pretty open for ideas, just something seeing my Shepard out and about with Joker would be wonderful. Love that scene when they stand together and look at the new Normandy, would be so happy to see them talking again doing something together. But in a new scene or something when he isn't always sitting down in his seat. Agree that it wouldn't really be a LM, but I would love just some kind of q for Joker. Hmmm..... I'll just have to ponder this a little bit more =)

I'd be interested in learning more about Joker's past.

As Namira said he doesn't need a loyalty mission but having him be a temporary squadmate would be fun. Off the top of my head- his favourite childhood doctor or the flight instructor he spoke about in ME1 goes missing and he asks us to investigate. Cue investigation mission with lots of Joker dialogue.
Similar to looking round Liara's flat but expanded and a bit of a puzzle. Joker stays in the car/shuttle if there's any combat. So yeah essentially my idea is rip off LOTSB's investigation and car chase with Joker banter instead of Liara.

For a Joker LM would love to meet his family - maybe in a the reapers are closing in on Arcturus Station (if his mother still works there) and get them out before the reapers arrive, would be double awesome if he was a LI and you where romancing him :-)

Maybe if they did something like an escort mission (but a good one!) with Joker like.. ooh if Cerberus has kidnapped him and you have to get him back and out to the Normandy (right now I know I'm being silly =P)

Also thanks @NamiraWilhelm, the ranty things telling us to stop being headless chickens were beginning to make me feel a wee bit uncomfortable

edit: OOh Victia that would be a cool idea, although I am fairly sure his mum is dead =S could be mistaken though:)

^^ I dont know if she is dead or not. He does have that one line that says 'If mum could see me now, we would have zombies on top of everything else' (or something like that) but I guess its how you interpret or speculate on that line, nothing was ever actually confirmed as far as I know but I may be wrong

Im not a family person, so meeting his family doesnt really bother me. How bout his instructor I agree with you guys on us not getting enough to go on in previous games, i mean do we learn anything more in ME2 about Jokers past, or was it all just present and what occurred while Shep was dead?

Doesnt really answer the question about if they are alive or dead, the only one that makes me think mum may be dead is the zombie one - the others could just be a 'last time i saw them' or 'when i was a kid' past tense.

I tried hard to have a romance with Joker but he just wasn't interested in my Shepard. I talked all of the time to him and Kaidan but Kaidan was the romance. I thought maybe Joker would be the jealous type but Joker was okay with the romance of Kaidan and Shepard. In Mass Effect 2 I was so happy to see Joker!!! No Kaidan around so I thought oh boy Joker romance. Kaidan showed up on Horizon and then I thought maybe now a Joker romance but no such luck. I am for a romance of Joker by Shepard in Mass Effect 3.

Personally, I hope he's a romance option in ME3, but if this is not to be then I am sure Bioware would have a perfectly good reason for making that decision. Anything right now is purely based on speculation and assumption; there's nothing truly solid to support either argument.

Upon the release of ME3, our hopes will either be confirmed or crushed, but suspense is all part of the thrill.
