Joker needs to take off his shirt more often (or, you know, in the game).

Personaly I don't want a joker romance but if you guys get your Joker romance the romance should develop at a slow and steady rate like most of the romances, unlike the Tali and Liara romnces where they just try to get into Shepards pants after one or two sections of dialogue, if I wrote the Joker romance dialogue I would do it like this

1st conversation: Shepard could talk about the fun times they had togther
2nd conversation: Shepard could ask Joker about past relationships
3rd conversation: Shepard and Joker could consider a realtionship with each other
4th conversation: They agree to having a relationship and give it a go

Anyway best of luck with getting the romance

Drone, I'm gonna do you one better for this:

Seriously, I wish we had more people like you visiting this forum. Usually, we just get the whole "No, he's with EDI" or "No, you'll break him in half" accompanied by a textual version of the trollface. But I totally like this. Though you don't want a jokermance, you support us AND you add to the thread! Enjoy your cookies!

And I like your idea. I really didn't like the ninjamances in ME1 and 2 (Jacob's is another bad one. If Femshep isn't careful, she starts hitting on him like a horny cheerleader). It'd be nice to have them develop and culminate near the end of the game (or maybe even throughout the second act). But Bioware has got some surprises coming to us in that department (I've read the tweets! Lol).

Also, I know my Reaper version of "Want You Gone" has gained some support. I've heard you, but I find myself unable to make it! I just can't create it in a way that is loyal to both the Reapers and the epicness that is that song. Reapers do not use contractions (which is a saving grace in that song) and they use big, complex words. My mental thesaurus is large, but it isn't huge (seriously, Karpshyn used a word like "rudimentary creatures of blood and flesh," there's no WAY I can do justice to that, let alone pigeonhole it into an already-established tune!). So yeah, sorry people, but I tried. :P

Yes Omega I think Ninjamances are worse than not suble ones - hopefuy that will all be sorted out in ME3. Dont worry about 'Want you gone' I am sure you will think some something twice as awesome soon - I am still gigging over your old spice shep :-D

Bah, you know what that's gonna be like:

I understand Casey's predicament. He doesn't want to spoil too much and would like us to get the most out of the game. I would rather he remain tight-lipped until the one-month stretch rather than dodge questions like an epic Power Ranger! B)

He can say stuff that isnt spoilerific, he has for other characters. Unless that means hes up there with the likes of Miranda, and thats why we've heard next to nothing. LET THE CONSPIRACIES FLY

Sorrel's pic is so pretty I had to make it my desktop (hope you don't mind Sorrel!).

I wish we didn't have another 6 months to go before the information floodgates go from a drip to a trickle...

I'm reluctant to start fangirling all over TES V: Skyrim because Oblivion was so blah to me. I like the witcher 2 but well, it's not Bioware dammit. I like my companions. *grumble*

All that fangirl has to go somewhere when I'm not replaying Dragon Age or Mass Effect...

Help me Jeff Moreau, you're my only hope!

A new romance is a big thing for BioWare. They want to make it perfect, I think. They feel if they reveal who the LIs are they'll give away the romance itself, hence making it less exciting. Anticipation heightens pleasure. They work HARD to make us happy, even though they know some of us won't be. I'm sure some people busted a vein when they read Shepard would be showing some frailty. As for me, I said: "Booyah! Bring on the hurt!"

So, in short, I REALLY want to know if Joker will be a Romance Option, but there is no way Mr. Hudson will tell us anything until the Holidays, Valentines Day...or not at all and we'll have to figure it out when the game releases.

*hangs head*

But I want my Joker nooooooooooooowwwwwww....*Bambi eyes*

I like the fact they're giving Shepard breaking points not making them all like "NOTHING PHASES ME FOR I AM COMMANDER SHEPARD AND I WILL BRING DOWN THE REAPER FLEET WITH MY FISTS"

I think I need to lay off the caffiene

I feel like I should be surprised that this thread has nearly a hundred posts, but I'm not. Not at all. In fact, this pleases me. :bandit:

Anyway, I agree with those of you that say a Joker/Shep romance would be the fkldsjfsdl best thing to occur in Mass Effect because he's been, really, the only re-occuring main character, and thus been with her the longest. I mean, you got Garrus and Tali back from ME1, but Joker was the first familiar face you run into in ME2 and it's because after Shep "dies", everything goes back to political hell and he just can't do it. Which I love. He is one of the few people that realizes that the galaxy just doesn't know what to do without Shepard.
Damn straight.

In short, I would love to see some Joker lovin' in ME3 , but truth be told, I'm not sure how likey that is.

I'm with the both of you, there. The closest we ever got to anything like that in any of the games was during ME2 when Liara visits you on the Normandy. Picking the bottom right option, Shepard can admit that he's tired of all the crap getting thrown his way. I can't wait until my main Shepard can just let that darn "determined" brick wall of an emotional barrier down and just have a vulnerable moment (preferably with Ash, hopefully ruining her feminine mystique, again; bringing down the "it's going to be okay / passionate 'I'm here for you' moment" hammer. My freakin' brain would explode from the overload of awesomeness).

*glances at calendar expectantly*

(HD/slightly edited version of the vid I made is up; if anyone's interested the link's in my siggy!)

I would like to buy one ticket for the "frail Shepard is good" train! I will be the one riding on the roof and shouting, "CHOO CHOO!" and if you feel like coming up there with me, I will make you a pina colada! (But we may have to slow the train down a little so it doesn't slosh out of the glass.)

I've been waiting for Shepard to show his and her softer side for some time now. LotSB was awesome for that; you got to see Shepard the friend instead of just Shepard the soldier, and Liara the friend instead of just Liara the squadmate. It felt really intimate, that moment in the cabin--not even romantically intimate, but interpersonally intimate, if you know what I mean. You got to hug her and tell her the things that Shepard kept inside all that time.

That's how it should be. These are people you've fought with and died with and then almost died with; to never show that you're a person just feels artificial, so there was an amazing catharsis with Liara that I'd like to see again with other characters who know Shepard well (Tali, Garrus, and now Jack and Thane, and the VS should have the opportunity to get to know Shepard as well; deciding whether to trust them again would be a great part of character development and roleplaying in ME3). I'd love it if you could choose who to read in on your feelings and who not to. And with Joker... well, I'm still waiting on that one all the more, since he was the first person from your past that you got back at your side, you saved his life and died for him, but never actually talked about it except in the form of jokes. Even if you don't want to romance him, he still is one of Shepard's best friends, your ever-reliable ace pilot who's always cracking jokes and keeping you steady in the worst of times.

It felt ridiculous that aside from his intro and post-IFF mission, you literally NEVER see him out of that pilot's chair. Does he never sleep? Never go to the bathroom? Never shower? That's not healthy.

I want that moment of catharsis with him, too. It's about time. You had a real moment or two with him in ME1 about his Vrolik's Syndrome, but ME2 was lacking, it was all jokes unless you die in the suicide mission. Seriously, you had to literally DIE to get a bit of real emotion out of him! It felt like there was something there which never got addressed, whether it was buried guilt or something else... I don't know, it just felt empty. I want that to be explained in ME3.

Even if Joker's just a brother to Shepard, brothers are pretty important. To die for somebody and then never say a serious word about it feels so hollow, so strange. I want that to change.

I am very excited for Shep to show some fragility/emotion - one of the things I am most excited about so far (not that we have much to go on lol). Apart from Joker I think my fav Shep would be most likely to break in front of Garrus - they are bff's - which is difficult as he is my fav romance that is currently available :-/

In ME2 it really felt like there was a scene missing between Joker and Shepard where they spoke about Shepard's death. It didn't have to be majorly emotional on either side but that it was never addressed was odd.
The closest mention was ambience Joker dialogue about Shepard dying on him.

A lot of us feel that way Ser Bard, they definitely should have had that convo. Unless Bioware want us to assume they had it while walking to the SR2, and if so that just stinks! Wonder if anyones come across any audio files not used that touches on anything serious like that...

@ NamiraWilhelm   =)   nice

On Shepard showing emotions. Ohh yess!! I am so much looking forward to this, wynne mentioned the conversation you could have with Liara in LotSB and that was a really good moment. To feel that your Shepard is a human being and not indestructible. A FemShep who romances Jacob can have a really good conversation with him regarding the difficulties that Shepard has faced before and how she deals with it. Ehhmmm.... might not be to many of us who have done that ... but that's for a different thread. It is really about time that you get to have this conversation with Joker but I have my hopes up for ME3   :wizard:    hopefully with a added dose of romance

Just did Virmire today and that little conversation you can have with him afterwards is so good.

Joker: Commander. I know it couldn't have been easy for you down there. Making the call between Alenko and Williams must have been.. I - - I'm sorry, ma'am. I just don't know if I could have done it.
Shepard: There is no right choice for something like that. I just hope I never have to go through it again.
Joker: I'm not blaming you, Commancer. I'm just... it's hard, you know.
Shepard: Saren's still out there, Joker. Hold it togheter. We need you.
Joker: Don't worry. I won't let you down. I want to be there when you make that son of a **** pay!

Well, appart from wanting to change the "We need you" to "I need you  <3" it is such a great little bit. The "I won't let you down bit" is wonderful and so true. He is always there for Shepard. The only thing now is that I'm really irritated that you don't get to talk about the actons taken in Arrival with him or the others. Hope that I haven't missed anything if it is possible but that should have been an option. "Hey, I had to do something really horrible but it was the only way to save us all, anyone I can talk to?". Jupp.... here's to Shepard showing some emotions. Poor girl, at the "I just hope I never have to go through it again" Arrival was the first thing I thought of. Ain't easy being Shepard.

Joker making a funny face   =)
