^^This.

But I do feel for others who want to have him. I just think they should stay true to the character and their history.

So.. looks like we need a discussion! Ahem.

If in ME2, like in DA, we could give and possibly receive gifts from squaddies. What would you like to gift Joker, and what kind of token would you like to receive?

*pops in*

A stuffed cheeseburger plushie for him to hang in the cockpit, and since I know he won't part with his hat for me (ahem my femSheps) then I don't want anything.

*disappears before any ME3 talk tickles her ears*

Personally, I don't envision Joker as being gay. However, for me that just means I won't play a DudeShep for any romance plot with him. That doesn't mean that the option shouldn't be available, either.

And for the record there wasn't anything wrong with DAII's "Anyone" approach, either. :C

by the way, just noticed the other conversation .. I meant my femSheps as not in me personally, just my characters, because I don't think Joker loves *me* because that would be crazy....

Hawke (male or female) could romance everyone, up to 3 in a single game even. Once Merrill or Anders romance was activated it stalled the other ones. In my Bianca game I tumbled with Isabela, got thrown up against a wall by Fenris and then got comforted by Anders. It was awesome.

As in any player could have a relation with any one of the NPC party characters that were LIs.

I like the pro-choice idea done in DA2 because you could have it the way you wanted it. So if you wanted gay Anders he was gay but if you wanted straight Anders he was straight. You don't want something you "choose" not to have it.

What I think is funny is that people don't want pre-existing characters (besides Liara) to become same sex romances because that would be changing their character.

I get that, but it's not that much of a stretch when you think about it. I don't remember any of the characters saying "I'm straight" right out, for all we know they do swing both ways. ;)

I'd give him the model of the first Normandy. Yes I've read that in a story somewhere, but come on it makes sense!

I read that story too! It was so cute, I think that would be an awesome gift.

I know right? Hell, that could be a lead-in to the (hopeful) romance...I guess. I dunno, I'm not good at writing stuff like that.

I think it would be neat if they could make some DLC where you get to take your LI somewhere nice, just as a breather. Maye a restaurant or a waterfall or a bar...
The reason I think it should be DLC is b/c some people don't like to get too far into the romance aspect of a BW game, but this way us touchy feely folks can have a "date". NOT that I didn't mind being thrown against the wall by Fenris, mind you. It just might be nice to take an optional "faff-quest.

I also support same-sex Jokermance. I've never tried it in a BW game but it may add an interesting dimension. I just usually play as a lady since every other video game out there forces me to play as a steroidal male, so it's nice to play as my true gender sometimes. I wonder how it would be to rub whiskers with Joker? :-P

OHhh... me likey. Hmmm... well this would be before they were romanticly involved but my FemShep would gift him a day in Omega going around looking for new stuff for the Normandy. Perfect for getting him out of that pilotchair and away from prying eyes in CIC. Much more fun to flirt a little with the guy when you know that half your staff isn't in the background listening as hard as they can, wondering about if you will go after the turian who's been looking at the boss quite a bit or if the boss has a thing for pilots. If Thane is calling FemShep Siha at that time then you know that they probably have a bettingpool going, and the poor guy doesn't have his private room like the rest of the LI:s. Jupp, get him out of that chair and away from the Normandy.

Gift from Joker to FemShep, I'm going to say that they are dating and he will try to cook for her and that they can eat in her room. Hey, all girls like if a guy can cook and it has the added bonus of being in her quarters since he doesn't have his on room.

I really liked this also    =)    I only play FemHawke or FemWarden, can't really get into a male char which usually means that I miss out on so many LI:s in a game. For me this was great! Just romance the LI:s that suits your Hawke personally. And if you don't want it, just don't flirt and you'll be fine.

I agree, just going off jokers history - especially a certain background dialogue involving female panting i think of his as straightt but he may be bi we dont really have enought to go on

Although I wasnt keen on DA2's approach. Personally I would love to seein games with romances in general gay, bi and straight LI's - just because I think it would feel more natural, rather than having it feel like the romances are hawkesexual or shepsexual

I see Joker as straight, but that doesn't mean I begrudge anyone else's right to see him differently, and it doesn't even mean I wouldn't play a DudeShep who just can't resist his pilot. I'd give the game a chance to convince me.

I really liked the DA2 system. You could fluidly decide who your character was rather than having the game limit your choices. It felt just plain cool, to me. If you wanted the character to just be a friend, they would be. If you wanted them to be something more, they could be. There was no sticky, awkward, "I've been thinking of this person as a sibling and now they want to do me" stuff going on. It was refreshing. It made me feel like the other character was reading my protagonist's emotions and reacting to them; like they were sort of dynamically forming a connection, picking up signals from each other. I loved how that was done. That happens in real life, too--if you sense that someone's interested, it can heighten your interest; if you feel that your interest is one-sided, then you may back off because you sense you're not their type and you should just enjoy their company on its platonic merits.

I'm not against certain characters just not seeing the protagonist that way (EXCEPT FOR JOKER!!! I mean, look at how he reacts when you die, both times!) because that makes it feel realistic, and I like the idea of certain characters just having set orientations as well, but I definitely don't think it hurts to have a sprinkling of either-or characters as well.

I don't know, maybe I sound like a cheerleader for everything, but I like wiggle room. I'm happy to have well-made romance in general; I'm not picky about how it's done as long as it hits the right spot.
