DLC Wishlist
1) More missions with Miranda
We think Shepard should be able to ask Miranda to join up after her mission on Sanctuary, and that she should help lead the assault on TIM's base. Shepard and Miranda should finish this together.

Another possibility would be Shepard fighting alongside Miranda to take out Cerberus installations either before or after Sanctuary. We want to see Miranda working as a leader and operative.

2) Romance
We would like to have a fully-implemented romance scene, and to be able to invite Miranda aboard the Normandy. This last part is important, as an expression of trust and support. Shepard and Miranda should share some "pillow talk" after the romance scene.

The final flashback should recognize Miranda, if romanced, along with all the other romances that are currently excluded.

3) Endgame
We would like to see Miranda make an impact on the endgame in terms of plot options or war assets. Miranda's survival should matter.

4) Closure
We feel there are significant character traits and story arcs related to Miranda that don't receive sufficient attention in ME3.

The lack of any dialogue addressing Miranda's view of TIM's new, more extreme tactics feels like a glaring omission, given her previous allegiance to the organisation. We would like to hear Miranda talk about her work with Cerberus in the past, how she feels about it now, and what her goals are moving forward.

We would like to see her embrace her origins and outgrow her insecurity about her genetic enhancements following the confrontation with her father.

Why do you like Miranda?
There are many different reasons why people like Miranda. Here are some of them. Note that the reasons for liking her as a character may differ from those for being attracted to her for a romance. I've tried to put the list in a descending order of importance, but there is some disagreement about the order, except for (1), which seems to be universal consensus among her fans.
(1) She’s an independently powerful and competent woman who can deal with her problems – professional or emotional – on her own (note: that doesn’t mean she doesn’t appreciate help). She’s the only female LI character who plays in the same league as Shepard. That makes her a perfect companion for him.
(2) She’s morally ambiguous. Black and white types tend to be predictable – and thus, often less interesting than those with grey morality. Her mental flexibility also means that she adapts better to situations where conventional morality just doesn't apply.
(3) She’s emotionally detached... - enough to be fascinating and refreshing, but not so much as to be unlikeable. All too often women in fiction are represented as more or less defined by their emotions. Miranda breaks that pattern. She can be professional; she can be coldly detached or coolly unmovable. She can also be emotional, but she’s not restricted to that.
(4) ...but does warm up to those she respects and trusts. Trust and (professional) respect are interwoven in her relationship to you. Once you've gained them, she becomes more open with you, and you know that's something special.
(5) She’s a “spy with superpowers”. This combination of power and mystery is irresistible to many of her fans.
(6) She's a woman, not a girl. Her grown-up and balanced personality attracts many fans.
(7) She's unapologetically sexual - and not presented as a sl*t because of it (forget the ass shots and pay attention to her behavior if you don't believe it). That's refreshing because more conventional stories like to paint a woman who enjoys sex - to say nothing of sex in engine rooms - in a more negative light.
(8) She's human. For those who find interspecies romance unconvincing, that’s an important aspect if you want to romance her.
(9) She’s engineered to be perfect. That makes her special in a way you cannot acquire by learning or even character development. While for some, that’s a point of attraction in itself, if you’re a transhumanist you might also be thrilled by the fact that she might be – dare I say it – the genetic destiny of humanity.
(10) She’s beautiful. This point is not as minor as people might want to make themselves believe. It’s not a necessary condition for liking her, but Miranda would be a different character if she were ugly. If you think she's not beautiful, look at these screenshots. one two three

The Miranda Lawson ME3 Survival Guide (corrections welcome)
1. You must do her loyalty mission. Leng will mortally wound her otherwise, regardless of other actions taken. Siding against her in the confrontation with Jack does not affect her survival.
2. If you don't take the first meeting, she is killed by Cerberus troopers. I presume this is during the coup.
3. Warn her about Leng and give her the Alliance data. I presume failing to do so gets you the extended death scene.
4. If romanced, do not break up with her.
5. Pass the rep check or take the Renegade interrupt. Failing to do so will get Miranda shot and a short death scene.

Inappropriate posts removed. this is also a reminder to please don't respond to--and for wombat's sake, don't quote--inappropriate material. it'll just get you in trouble for having such things in your post, and for creating more work for us Moderators. ;) Thanks.

Trolling and responses to trolling removed, off-topic posts removed, bans handed out. I have no problem with people coming into these threads with dissenting opinions that they'd like to discuss or debate, but coming in just to rile up the thread with provocative posts is trolling and will be dealt with.

For the rest of you, please don't respond to troll posts. Simply report them to a Moderator. Thank you.

Hey guys, that Tali thing is incorrect. I've confirmed this with two different writers tonight.

@Quole please don't come on support threads and bash on the character. That's a good way to get in trouble with me. I don't like getting all schoolmarm so don't make me go there.

For everyone else, if you know anything about me (which is completely understandable if you don't) Miranda is my favorite character in the series. I've always wanted to cosplay as her but silly insecurities get in the way. So I'm definitely hoping she's a squad member or has some kind of prominent role in the game. After spending time with the writing team and devs in general, I know they have good reasons for doing things and I trust they'll treat Miranda with care (all the IP really).

But we can sit on pins and needles together ;)

The "Tali thing" is in reference to Tali being a squadmate (which I honestly don't even know if she is or not and in what capacity) due to fan demand. That is not true and fans of other characters should not feel like their voice hasn't been heard. I hope that clears that up.

Quole, any time you see someone being rude, trolling, or hateful on the BSN message me and I'll take care of it. How other people behave isn't permission for you to do the same. And your excuse about not understanding this thread is flimsy when it has the word "support" in it. Sorry bro.

Yay for Miranda screens ;)

I don't understand why Bioware doesn't give information about the ME2's characters.

We're trying to keep as much of the game's story details as unspoiled as possible.

By spoiling our inner zen states due to lack of news. <_<

Believe me, I want story news too, but I'm purposefully staying away from any NPC discussions at work because it's definitely better to experience in-game. To keep myself occupied, I'm thinking about making Miranda's DLC armor

I should clarify that I meant her armor from ME2 Alternate Appearance Pack #2. I have zero knowledge about Miranda's role in ME3. I'd do her armor because no one else has yet and I think it's a great look (although, in my ME2 Miranda resigned, so I suppose I'd make it without the Cerberus logos on it).

Either that or Ashley's confirmed armor for ME3 (we saw a screenshot the other week).

Sorry for any confusion or false hope that caused :(

Hey guys,
Someone told me on Twitter that a person claiming to have the Space Edition of ME3 was posting spoilers in this thread - is this true?

Thanks for your help!
Jess

I have been relaying second hand information that I learned from the Spoiler Group, I do not claim to have the Space Edition. Even so, I try to make sure that only people who want to read the spoilers do so.
Is it a problem?

It's not ideal obviously since that document is outdated, but my real concern is that someone is claiming to have the Space Edition and spoiling people.

Anyway, tweet or PM me their username if you come across that person.

I'll also give my personal 2 cents and say that I loved Miranda in ME3 but we can discuss in ONE WEEK!!!

The pastebin link containing the information that people are upset about originated on the SomethingAwful forums.

OK can someone tell me what people are upset about re: Miri behind a cut? I'm a little confused now...
