I'm replaying Matt to save Kaidan instead. Playing him a bit more idealistic than last time--Veetor is with the quarians and the refinery is saved. Still conflicted about what to do with Oriana. Thoughts?

Does anyone cook in the 22nd century? Besides seems like a bit of a misogynist request to ask Miranda to cook for you.

If it were to come from her it wouldn't seem in her character since its an affectionate gesture, which isn't her thing. If Miranda were to do something for Shepard and it involved cooking, I imagine someone else or something else would prepare it.

So, no I don't think she cooks.

Miranda i would expect is a good cook. Though i doubt she has time to do it often.

From what I know of Matt, I think he would encourage Miranda to talk to Oriana, despite the fact that it might endanger her . Moreover, from what I've read from you he is besotted with Miranda . He'd do anything to make her happy and to show is feelings toward her . I hope my advice will be helpful to you ;)
He seems more like a paragon, paragade Shepard right ?

It amuses me to think Miranda can't cook, so I imagine she can't.

Actually, I always thought something similar. She'd over analyse the literal chemistry of a meal, and make something thats really bland.

I also imagined that she doesn't really know how to dance-- not that she'd be bad at it--, but she just doesn't know how.

Ok, she can't cook. But she can always call for room service. And she know how to handle a knife.

@jtav
About Oriana, it's up for how Matt thinks about family.

They are on a suicide mission with no guarantee that they woulkd come back.

Would you let Oriana to know that she has a sister, and that she might not see her again because she could die in a few weeks?

I think Miranda knows how to dance. There's not a whole lot of difference between hand-to-hand combat (which she knows) and being able to dance. In one of the Behind the Scenes features for one of the seasons of Chuck on DVD, Yvonne mentioned that until the age of 18, she was a dancer and she does (most of) her own stunts on the show and that it's not overly different from dancing, the main difference is in making contact.

I really don't remember anything even suggesting that Miranda knowns hand-to-hand combat.
Hopefully, that will change in ME3 with You-Know-What.

I assume a certain amount of CQC proficiency is necessary for her line of work.

Definitely jtav . She must have been trained to some sort of CQC situations by Cerberus or even by her father, who knows ?
In any case I wouldn't want to take a biotic punch of hers in my face .

I also think she knows how to dance. It would have been part of her background, and recall we talked about her taking up fencing as a sport? I think she'd enjoy dancing, and it ties in well with her enhanced body coordination.

Edit:
I agree that Miranda would have some training at close quarters combat. It's much more suited to an operative's line of work than noisy shootouts. I imagine she's really good at that with her biotics, and that she's really good with guns too is more a measure of natural coordination than dedication.

As one of the most trusted agents of TIM she sould know CQC. I mean, even in the Alliance the scienists are supposed to learn hand-to-hand.

Oh, I'm certain that Miranda is extremely well trained for hand-to-hand combat. CQC would be one of the first things she'd probably learn. Hell, I'd go as far as to say that only Samara and Ash are equal or better to her in CQC on the female cast side.

Well, I doubt anyone but Wrex and Thane would risk taking on Kasumi in hand to hand combat, but that's for different reasons.

I still am willing to bet Miranda's better trained.

Somebody threw out the idea of fencing as a favorite pastime of Miranda's, and I must say... it stuck in my mind as being really appropriate.

Cooking... not so much.

Dancing? There I hesitate... But she seems to like a classy nightclub, so I'm guessing she probably enjoys it.

As for the female characters' CQC style they will be quite different for each :
In my opinion, Samara and Miranda would make use of their biotics, they would predict their opponents' movements to counter them and use some CQC techniques as well . Ashley would use her pure strength combined with some grabbing techniques . Kasumi would use her agility and speed .

Dare I say it? Fencing seems a bit delicate of a sport, no offense to anyone who practices it, but it seems kind of soft for Miranda. She strikes me as someone who isn't afraid to get hurt or hurt someone else if it means she'll learn something she can use later. If she does any kind of traditional weapons training I see her using something more practical and perhaps a bit more lethal.

classy nightclub? Like a lounge? If so, no one goes to a lounge for dancing. But that seems more like her kind of place.

I can see her in a lounge like this...
Image IPB

Where she can sip vodka and talk about how mediocrity has ensorcelled the masses and murdered any chance of revitalizing any form of traditional music.

I believe she knows how to dance and enjoys it ( a little bit at least ) and have good tastes in classy lounge . She even asks Shepard if he want to get some " R&R " if your bring her along on the Citadel, in the Dark Star Lounge . She even says it is better than Chora's Den .

As for the cooking, I don't think she knows how to cook, she doesn't have time for that . Though she could become a great cook since she excels in everything she does .

I think the Chora's Den reference has more to do with the fact that it was a hole in the wall strip club, and less about her preference with the Dark Star Lounge.

What's that R&R line, I don't think I've heard it.

"Looking for a little R&R, Shepard?. It's a nice enough place. A lot nicer than Chora's Den, anyway."
