Dare I say it? Fencing seems a bit delicate of a sport, no offense to anyone who practices it, but it seems kind of soft for Miranda. She strikes me as someone who isn't afraid to get hurt or hurt someone else if it means she'll learn something she can use later. If she does any kind of traditional weapons training I see her using something more practical and perhaps a bit more lethal.

I can see your point, but I think that what's appropriate about it as a pastime is that it is... very precise and elegant, while retaining an element of violence.

But it would be a pastime, like a sport. Not so much practical training.

Actually the R&R line pops up if you choose to bring her along in the Dark Star Lounge and activate the " talk to Miranda " unique dialogue which is located near the Turian bartender if I remember well .
Basically, she says " Shepard, do you want to get some R&R ? " then she talks about this place being better than Chora's Den .

Edit : jtav you 'd me, damn it !

Ah, I thought she'd say something to denigrate Chroa's Den rather than praise the night club.

Yeah, I suppose a surgical precision is in keeping with the character's nature. Seeing how she takes everything she does seriously, I doubt she'd do it just as a hobby, but something she would give attention to.

I can see Miranda being well versed in CQC. Shooting the head off a mech from a hundered meters away with a pistol is cool, beating down baddies with enhanced reflexes and biotics is awesome.

As for cooking, Overlord shows us that Cerberus equips their installations with some sort of mess hall, and we're not given much information about how Cerberus supports its operatives in the field. So I'm willing to bet that cullinary skills aren't high on Miranda's list. Then again, the same could be said of Shepard if you choose to invoke the Sacrificed Basic Skill For Awesome Training trope.

Miranda: Shepard, is there a reason why your eyebrows are missing?

Shepard: Because every inanimate thing I touch inevitably explodes.

Miranda: The toaster?

Shepard: (sighs) The toaster.

Lol

Shepard: Miranda that roast is not some enemy operator...

Knife finds itself  stuck in the wall next to shepards head.
Shepard:blink:  I should go

Somebody threw out the idea of fencing as a favorite pastime of Miranda's, and I must say... it stuck in my mind as being really appropriate.

Cooking... not so much.

Dancing? There I hesitate... But she seems to like a classy nightclub, so I'm guessing she probably enjoys it.

This might just be me, but I can see her attempting to play violin (Like Oriana), and being comically bad at it.

Idea: If I ever get back into writing original stories, I'll incorporate that as a running gag.

It amuses me to think Miranda can't cook, so I imagine she can't.

Actually, I always thought something similar. She'd over analyse the literal chemistry of a meal, and make something thats really bland.

I also imagined that she doesn't really know how to dance-- not that she'd be bad at it--, but she just doesn't know how.

I think Miranda knows how to dance. There's not a whole lot of difference between hand-to-hand combat (which she knows) and being able to dance. In one of the Behind the Scenes features for one of the seasons of Chuck on DVD, Yvonne mentioned that until the age of 18, she was a dancer and she does (most of) her own stunts on the show and that it's not overly different from dancing, the main difference is in making contact.

I really like how some of the Asari and human females dance at dark star lounge. I could see Miranda dancing similar to them.  She does like the Asari culture.  I'm sure she can give Shep some pointers on "how to dance."  That might be hilarious to watch.  :D  At least it's something Miranda does BETTER than him.

I can envision a mad dance off between her and this one turian.... I think that might be the presidium groundskeeper on his days off. Sorry Miranda. I love ya, but I think this guy takes the point tonight;)

*I hate going back to topics we talked about 10 or so pages ago, but I felt this to be somewhat amusing and entertaining to envision, and I hope I'm not the only one*

Going back to Miranda and hip hop...

Just keep her away from this guy, or her head may explode-

NSFW, bad language. Also, notice how he goes through an entire 4 minute song's worth of lyrics in 1 minute. Actually, no. There's 8 seconds of filler in the beginning. 52 seconds of actual wordplay.

I've found when introducing people to genre's of music you think the wont like, its easier to introduce them to a sub-genre first and they'll eventually travel on their own and find more music like it.

I think Miranda would gravitate more towards trip-hop and blues, then could find her way over to hip-hop.

Introduce her to this stuff first

then she'll be listening to old Nas and Lupe Fiasco in no time!

That reminds me, keep her away from Enrique Iglesias.

I don't think I need to explain, but I will anyway.

I started talking about it in the 990's.

I thought it would be cool to RP a situation where Miranda is caught out of her element and to think of witty ways she could react.

See, I think that might be too strong for someone who only listens to classical (as far as we know)  to jump into. But Blu & Exile is a good place to sart. I was trying to keep wth the theme of strong instrumentals since it links closer to classical music.

1. No.

2. No.

3. No.

Shame on you for even suggesting these.

That would be like suggesting NWA to someone who primarily listens to Beethoven.

the idea has been bouncing around in my head  for while now... but I'm glad you did start the topic most of  time i just avoided even trying here with some of the posters.

Jazz i think is going to be bridge here... If anything i would start her  off in Jazz first  and then work my way  from there.

After watching some soulless monster letting Miranda die in the suicide mission, this came to my mind-
