Flying Lotus could be the gateway you're looking for.

Flying Lotus doesn't really work. He doesn't stick to any 1 particular genre.

Not to mention the first song you linked isn't even hip hop.

That was the appeal, that the genres melt together. It's supposed to be something that would let her slip more comfortably into hip hop.

I've been trying to think of a good hip hop style love song to apply to Miranda (I'm talking actual love song, not CLUB/SEX/DRUGS/KESHA), but I can't think of anything, other than-

Ooh, I missed the Massive Attack from last page. Girl I Love You would be my choice. It's not hip hop, but it's sublime either way. Probably my favorite by them.

Then there's Portishead. Maybe that would go down smoother as an introduction.

GILY- ... The video for that song completely turned me off it. I couldn't watch past 50 seconds or so because the female actress reminded me of Regan from the Exorcist, with her erratic, demonic looking movements and her incessant wall humping.

I can't stop thinking about this.

(Ignore the terrible quality of the actual video, ****** youtube took down the official one)

What do you think Miranda's reaction would be? A slap to the face or a kick in the nuts? A gunshot to the head maybe?

While we're on that, I think Shepard would be playing this song following Miranda's romance scene-

On top of that thought, again, I could see Shepard singing this trying to impress Miranda, and then failing miserably, with comedic effect--

Kinda following my last post, if Shepard were to try and show Miranda any comedy music, what groups/bands/genres do you think he'd try?

My Shepard would definitely do the Lonely Island and Jon Lajoie.

All of you probably already know the Lonely Island-

Here's a song from Jon Lajoie-

Yeah. Just like me. Miranda likes classical music! Carl Nielsen. She says it herself. I'd think she'd also love formal dances quite a bit more.

Miranda is most likely impressed by EpicSaxGuy and Sergio Flores. I mean, those 2 men are hot and handle their sax appeal really well. Come on, epic airhumping while playing your sax has got to count for SOMETHING.

After watching some soulless monster letting Miranda die in the suicide mission, this came to my mind-

LOL I did kill her in one playthough, tried killing everyone but Zaeed and Morinth to have a worst-case-scenario import. She's annoyingly difficult to kill, took me several different attempts. Bioware definitely wanted her to live for ME3.

BroShep is going to play these songs to Miranda to introduce her to hip-hop:

Baby Got Back- Sir MixAlot
Tonight (I'm F*cking You)- Enrique Iglesias
Love In This Club- Usher
Sexy B**ch- David Guetta
In My Head- Jason Derulo
P.D.A. (We Just Don't Care)- John Legend
Sexual Healing- Marvin Gaye
Let's Get It On- Marvin Gaye
OMG- Usher
Candy Shop- 50 Cent
Ayo Technology- 50 Cent
Most of Eminem's songs.

If anyone asks why he did it only to get slapped and kneed in the gonads by Miranda as a reward, this is his reply.

I can only agree with that scenario Joseph
She likes classical music . I can imagine her playing some " Nocturnes " by Chopin on the piano . This is such a lovely image that I have in my mind now

I'd like to imagine the character isn't boring enough to only listen to one style of music. A person can listen to jazz and industrial. So it's not beyond reason for someone to listen to classical and hip hop.

I still think Trip-hop is the better genre to introduce her to. Perhaps "All Mine," by Portiahead. It's a bit possessive, but that's right up her alley.

I'm sure she listens to more than one type of music. However i don't find classical/Hip Hop a likely combination. jazz/blues would be more likely in my head canon anyway. My main shep loves rock but i think it would take quite some time for her to acquire much enthiusiasm for it. Each to their own though.

As a musician myself, I agree with you, every music trend has something to offer .
About Trip-hop, this would definitely be a better genre to introduce her to than Hip-hop in my opinion, even though they have similarities . " Inertia Creeps " by Massive Attack would be a good one as well .
She is rather possessive so " All Mine " would fit with her . In fact, if I remember correctly if you have romanced another LI before her and you choose to romance her as well she says something like that " I won't share you ", I really like that.

Indeed. Without starting something ... I don't think Pop & Hip Hop will make it till the end of this century, not to speak of late 22nd century. Too mainstreamish I'd say. Actually, I'm still hoping for musicans telling: "to hell with mainstream bull - lets make art!"

Miranda is more the type for classical music. Guess she enjoys orchestral stuff, loves Mozart, Händel, Bach ... you name it. Fits to a highly  educated high society lady (in the good meaning).

And this is why I perfere other musical genres. It's about the art and the longing to express your thoughts and feelings through the music. :PHip hop.. just isn't artistic in that way..

So, when will the hip hop music talk end?

Somebody please, propose a new topic to talk, by example:
- Oriana after the war.
- Future of Mr. Lawson Empire.
- etc.

I have been wondering... Will it make a difference on how you got into the romance? How the conversations were going? (Renegade/Paragon) Not only for Miranda, for everyone on the Normandy...

I read somewhere that your art of interaction will somehow transfer to ME3. Don't have a source, though.
