I wouldn't say a maneater. That implies that she doesn't feel love and is just a money grubbing wh*re.

Well, "maneater" doesn't really have the same connotations as a term like "goldigger." Can be more positive, almost like the female equivalent of "player."

So, in a sense, I do think that was part of the concept. They would have said "femme fatale," probably, but that's actually pretty similar.

That's not how I think of the character, but it's one interpretation.

I dunno. Urban dictionary disagrees, and we all know the internet is never wrong.

Speaking about songs, this one works with every sidelined LI.

The Urban dictionary actually states that it's like a female equivalent of pimp or player Image IPB

But if you look at all the various definitions, it's quite similar to "femme fatale," which is just a more... traditional term.

@flemm

The first definition says "An irresistable woman who chews and spits out men after using them for some sort of gain -- be it sexual, financial or psychological."

No, that's the 2nd part. The whole thing is:

"The female-equivalent to the more male-associated words like pimp or player. An irresistable woman who chews and spits out men after using them for some sort of gain -- be it sexual, financial or psychological."

We all have google Image IPB

So, for example, a male "player" uses women for sexual satisfaction. So might a "maneater" with regard to men.

It fits with her Shadow Broker dossier.
Obviously, it's not all she is, there are other sides to Miranda.

I honestly can't believe it's looking like Miranda's not a squadmate in ME3, not what I was expecting at all.

You and me both.

Well, I actually knew she wouldn't be a squadmate for a while now, but I'm still bitter about it. I'll probably always be bitter about it.

Know why Flemm's got a pic of Mordin as his avatar? Cuz he always knows what I'm trying to say.

Male philanderer is equivalent to a maneater. She essentially picks and chooses who she'll get involved with and dictates the terms to her liking and no one can influence her otherwise.

All your friends would warn you about her cuz she probably used him and dropped him, or dismissed him outright because he thought himself good enough to warrant her attention. Yet for some reason they'd still try to get her attention. The opposite of practically every ME LI with the exception of Jack which is pretty similar except for being more forceful about it.

Its essentially the antithesis of all sexual and relationship stereotypes of women and I think this character embodies that quite well.

Now that I listen to it more, the album version (5 minutes) of this song applies better.

Hey Guys! I had to chime in here as all of you are missing the source which would really and truly clear this all up...IMDB. http://www.imdb.com/...ullcredits#cast

You can clearly see Yvonne has completed all her work now which means Miranda is not DLC and must play a decent role in ME3. I would say Miranda is probably going to be part of the squad now that Shepard isn't with Cerberus. Plus, why would they downgrade Miranda when there is a DLC character announced that will be the lowest quality due to missing the main story and not being truly interactive (if he/she resembles ME2 DLC characters). She is a love interest after all...and this game is the resolution of Shepards storyline so I would hope for some closure.

Carie Ann Moss (Matrix) and Adam Baldwin (from Chuck) are also returning in the game with Martin Sheen even but Yvonne/Miranda coming back in any form takes the cake.

This song reminds me of Miranda

Also, just because Miranda is listed on IMDB doesn't make it true. It is a bit better informed wikipedia. Nothing is official without a credible source. And many are aware of IMDB is listing her as the VA. I think is highly unlikely Miranda isn't voice by her, but Mordin's VA who had arguably the best voice acting in the series lost his gig.

It seems we always get that as a source once in a while around here

IMDB is not a reliable source, it's basically a wikipedia site solely based on movies, TV shows, etc...

And it's more for sport than anything. Assuming sword fighting to be practical in a world where there have been firearms for thousands of years (Or even in the modern world today) is just absurd.

What about the omni-blade and biotic punches?

I say the presence of kinetic shields and barriers changes the combat equation quite a bit. Whittling down shields takes time, and if you can get your enemy down faster by melee (where shields don't have any effect since they only work against fast-moving projectiles) then there are bound to be situations where that's the preferred course of action.

Of course the formal styles would be for sport, but given one possible outcome of a certain fight in ME3 I'd say that fighting with "sticks of metal" has re-acquired a certain efficiency in the ME universe, even against opponents armed with guns. And the formal styles can teach you body awareness and coordination, probably better than a standard soldier training.

There's also this: if bullets can be infused with a Warp effect, melee weapons can also be. So it should be possible to fight with a melee weapon augmented by the user's biotics.

Which means...well...I would love to see a Miranda vs. Kai Leng melee fighting scene.

BTW, there's a lack of Miranda pictures lately....

Yvonne Strahovski will be on Jimmy Kimmel Live Tonight(12:00 am on ABC). She will be promoting the last Episodes of Chuck. Maybe she will say something about Mass Effect 3.

I'd love it if it was revealed that, in addition to being a brilliant scientist, Miranda also used to be Cerberus second best wetwork operative.

Edit: You know what. I just want to hear more about what type of missions Miranda performed for Cerberus. Period.

I've always assumed she did that kind of work, too. But I bet we won't hear about it. Miranda is already controversial enough for this to become canonical. But you might like the fanfic Operation Forseti. It's one of my favorite Miranda-themed fanfics.
