ViSeirA, Lemon, I think you're jumping to conclusions. In fact it appears as if her tone in the interview heavily suggests that she will, in fact, be back.
I also explained why it is not stupid to delay the reveal until a time closer to release.
I'm much more concerned about Miranda's story arc and how it might fail to showcase her independence and competence. And her dedication to advancing humanity....
It IS a conclusion, though a very viable one. I also read your explanation, which makes sense from a marketing standpoint to consumers who are not familiar with the series, you'd want them to take the news so close to release they'll make a snap decision and buy the game, but even a month before release isn't close enough so it still doesn't make sense. It's marketing 101, you either build the hype and keep reminding people about your star cast or do it so close to release people won't forget about it, to me it seems Bioware is doing neither and already we know about most of those involved with the game... Yvonne alone won't make that big of a difference, damn it's like the DA2 marketing fiasco all over again, a month before release and people were still wondering if the mage vs. templar or Thedas vs. Qunari conflicts were the main themes of the game and where do you think we'd still be standing if it weren't for the leak? it's not just Yvonne, it's the entire marketing strategy for the game.
Anyway, when it comes to Miranda's story arc I think it's safe to say her dedication to advancing humanity is put on hold, the only part where it can be properly acknowledged or accentuated is towards the end game or in the epilogue (if there's one).
