Something's wrong with my laptop. It keeps overheating and goes into hibernation after Playing ME2 for several minutes. I don't know what's wrong and I'm afraid that it might happen again

If all else fails I have to get it for the PS3, along with getting all the DLC back.

I don't even think PSN has the DLC anymore. PLUS, I have no way to import ME1 data, if switching to PS3.

Are you playing with the laptop on a flat, solid surface? If the cooling vents on the laptop are blocked it can overheat.

I have a MaleShep and (now) 2 FemSheps (only one of which is guaranteed to get carried through the entire trilogy). I definitely hope that Ash is an option for my FemShep since Miranda won't be, otherwise I doubt I'll pair her up with anyone.

All you'd have to buy DLC wise is Arrival. Zaeed, Kasumi, Firewalker, LOTSB, and Overlord come free. The Mass Effect Genesis Comic is horrendous. You are better off buying an Xbox.

No I actually have it platformed on stuff. It's been plugged in for hours though, but  I need it plugged in or else the game lags.

I was taking a look at GameStop (U.S.) and it's only $20 for ME2 on PS3. I'm not sure where you live, but if it's in the states, then, yeah...

Eh, I'm sure they were just worried that nobody would be able to remember "Strahovski." But "Stryker" is such a ridiculous suggestion.

Plus, given the devotion of Chuck fans, completely and comically unnecessary.

No I actually have it platformed on stuff. It's been plugged in for hours though, but  I need it plugged in or else the game lags.

Your fans might be dusty as heck.

I have a laptop pugged in for hours while gaming...an Asus G73jh and even with those fans it will start shutting down randomly and acting funny. Dust trapped in the fans and blocking the airways is often the culprit.

Hm...have you've gamed often on this laptop? Because if it's not a gaming laptop then there's not much you can do. It will keep fritzing because the video card might not be able to handle the strain and the system won't be able to cool itself fast enough.

The last time I played ME2 was when I completed everything in it in September, plus I have the disc version

Everything runs smoothly 40-60 fps.

Huh. If it's not dust I'd recommend letting it cool off completely for a while and try again. If the shutting down continues you're probably gonna have to take it to a shop. You might have to get a repaste because something's wrong if this just started doing this.

Did you do anything before hand? Update your drivers or anything?

Well, great question, though hard to discuss without spoilers at this point.

My sense of it is that something different is going to happen than we are expecting and that the organisation will be... transformed in some way. In at least one possible ending.

Uh...alright then. Frankly I updated my drivers once and it caused my temps to increase by 10 degrees. Not hot enough to cause a shutdown but pretty damn close. Anyway you'd be better off googling your laptop and asking on different forums. Or going to the tech forum and listing your specs.

I just used a compressed air can through the vents. Now my laptop feelings like it's cooling down, but I have it unplugged. I can play unplugged because my laptop has switchable graphics. If not plugged, ME2 would lag badly.

Could it be because of the screen resolution setting on the game? I have it on 1600x900. I used to have in on 1280x720.

Charging the battery builds up quite a bit of heat. If overheating isn't a regularly occurring problem, shut down your computer, unplug the charger, and let the laptop cool down for a few hours.

I'm willing to bet that Cerberus isn't going to be completely destroyed. There's probably going to be cells, projects, and operatives still kicking around in the galaxy after the Reaper War.

For now I'd just let it power down (or at least turn off ME for a bit).

Also what Dr. said. You're not leaving the battery in the comp are you? That will screw up your battery if you do it often (I learned this the hardway.) You can have the comp on without the battery (at least you should be able to) just run it off AC power.

Plug it back in to the A/C and remove the battery and only the battery.
