That must be a weird way to meet your soulmate
I imagine someone asking them :

Random Guy: " So, how do you met each other ? "
S: " Huu ..."
M: " He was dead, I spent two years bringing him back to life "
RG : " Oh, Okay ... that's unusual ... "

Or a Spacer Shepard introducing Miranda to his parents-

SM (Shepard's mom): So, son, how did you meet this lovely young lady?

S: You know, it's funny that you should ask... I... Well... I kinda--

M: He was killed in action. I spent the following 2 years bringing him back to life.

SM: Your bond was that strong that you went through all that trouble?

M: Actually no, I had never met Shepard beforehand. Your son is certainly quite famous though, his reputation precedes him. My old boss needed Shepard alive for a mission. He also rebuilt Shepard's old ship and I became a part of his crew.

SM: I see. Well then, how DID you two end up being together?

M: Let's just say... you're son is a terrible flirt. He's a damn good captain and an excellent leader, but he's horrible when it comes to being smooth with the ladies. Do you have any idea what he said to me after he helped me rescue my sister?

S: *Sheepish* Miranda, I don't think we should really get into that.

M: You don't want me telling her you're embarassing little secret?

S: I'll do anything.

M: Anything?

S: You heard me.

M: So you'll go with me to that concert on Friday? The London Symphony Orchestra is playing Nielsen's fifth at  Barbican Centre.

S: ... Fine. You win this round.

M: Have I ever lost?

edit: Usually it's being embarassed by your parents in front of your girlfriend, but now it's your girlfriend mebarassing you in front of your parents.

edit: My god, this was a lot longer than I though it would be, apologies.

LoL, yeah, sorry, that wasn't very clear Image IPB

I meant that it would be more similar to certain other types of stories if the two were already a couple (basically then it would be about love conquering death, but here it's just scientific expertise). And then the romantic attachment comes later.

I'm sure it could work both ways . Poor Shepard, all of his little secrets will be revealed :P

Which probably explain why there's a number of stories where they do have a prior relationship. Mine included. It's the only way I can get it to work in my head. Base romance is a no-go.

Can you clarify that last part?

If I had to take the romance as written, I'd be squicked because she resurrected him.

Miri was given that Beautiful classic Femme Fatale look. The dark hair fits Perfectly. I wonder if she will have shorter hair in ME3.

Not sure about the hair, but, if I had to take a guess on a redesign, it would be that the theme will be more "Miranda is a scientist" this time around.

Which I could totally get behind. Just a guess, though.

I'd say "Miranda is on the run."

It's certainly another possibility.

Yes, but why? Seemingly, I am not... authorial enough to understand spontaneously what you mean Image IPB

Because my brain slots her into a parental/Frankenstein/creator role and because he would have been more project than person.

It occurred to me about a year ago, so I started giving them a prior romance.

Well, he would have been. Hence the control chip as an idea: he is not really a person to her yet, in a sense. It's dehumanizing and therefore similar to what her father did to her.

Thus we have *spoiler conversation* in the script, which I increasingly approve of.

It does make the romance... unusual, I'll give you that. But in a good way.

Shepard is always on the receiving end of Miranda's antics.

Poor Shepard can never catch a break. Miranda enjoys the mental torture:devil:.

Understandable but Miranda is not creating something. Unlike Frankenstein's monster, Shepard already had a mother, a personality, a life before Miranda came along. At most, she is restoring what was lost.

That Shepard grows from project to person in Miranda's eyes, is another detail that the other romances just don't have.

How far in are you?

I just finished Miranda's loyalty mission on my HC playthrough. Only one I did so far.

I used to not understand the SB dossier at all, but I tend to think now that this is largely what it is about.

Wait, where in the SB dossier does it ever go over Shepard/Lazarus?

The video log is Miranda (and Jacob) prepping for recovery of Shepard's body. Then the file starts with Miranda studying Shep/Saren and other things, and eventually switching over to more relationship-oriented stuff.

It's more complicated than that, but a big element of it seems to be what JB articulated there.

Oh. I haven't seen that video yet then. Do you need to do anything/wait a certain amount of time to unlock it?

I don't find that reading persuasive. I think it's just bad writing.

Well, my first tought is to point out that nothing in Miranda's dossier is romance or (Shepard's) gender specific.
But, then again, Tali always buy a book on how to court humans regardless of what I mentioned previously.
So, maybe?

Nah, it's just a short clip, basically you have to go over behind where Liara is standing, and past Feron, I think.
