Which is better? Good cop or Bad cop for Shepard?

I don't think it really matters. Good cop Shep can still beat the crap out of Kelham, and Bad cop can still go all Paragon.

My favorite part is still seeing the "Holy sh*it!" on his face when Shepard tells him he's a Spectre.

Is that Bad Cop?

The last time I played I was the Good, BUT I Still punched Kelham once and threatened to cut his balls off, then he talked. Then when the other guy (forgot his name and job) showed up, I said something like, "thanks for you time Kelham," something like that. It turned out as if I was bluffing.

I always run with "bad cop" (though I mostly play paragon,) As I know shep can "handle it."  Whereas Im not sure how well thane could carry it.  Figure best not to find out later it bothered him- plus it just seems funner. (especially playing paragon; where your genuinely doing the right thing most the time- need a place and time to vent that accumulated anger!)

Personally, no matter how Paragon I play my Shep, I take most of the Renegade Interrupts. It's more fun that way.

@MEF

It's ironic because you started it :|

On Good/Bad cop: After his lawyer comes in (Don't hit Kelham at all), you can tell him you're a Spectre (If you were re-instated), and Kelham asks "What's that mean Freddy?" right after his lawyer exclaims "Oh sh*t!"

what scene is the top pic from?

Yeah, but I realzed we had to change the Topic back to Miri. There are...certain very sensitive Mods out there who would immediately lock this Thread for any tiny slip.

At the end of Miri's Loyalty Mission when she sees Oriana. This is a pic from the User Ieldra2. I sincerely hope this Photo represents Shepard persuading Miri to speak to Oriana.

Hmm...

Shepard was injured in the field, and Miranda is here to "treat" him.

I'd love to have Miri in a nurse's uniform tending to me while I'm sick. But then again, I'll probably be sick/injured everyday just so I can have my Miwi in a nurse uniform treating me with tlc everyday.

Let me tell you this "sexy nurse" trope is totally one-sided. People lying in hospital beds are the opposite of sexy, because health and fitness is a big part of sexual attraction. All this picture reminds me of is the reality of things. I like some of TruePrince's other Mirandas, but this is just...wrong.

These two are particularly nice. Not that I want Miranda with short hair in ME3, but it does look attractive.

Yes, lemon. You need to either wait or do mission in order to unlock all of the SB's videos.

Yeah, I guess that's right. As I recall, Miranda's is one of the later ones. The whole set is on YouTube anyway.

There are three sets of videos. Watch one, and the next one gets unlocked after you've one a mission or N7 assignment (anything with a mission end screen). Miranda's is the last video of the last set. It's also the longest.

But I disagree with the interpretation that the videos - or any parts of Miranda's dossier - imply anything about the relationship between Miranda and Shepard. I cannot see any connection except a very minor one with the "After Dark Fashion" subscription (which bothers me greatly because it's paired with unsubscribing the scientific journal).

I hate taking her to Omega. The lighting in... Almost everwhere there makes the shadows on her face almost pop out.

I must have a nice-looking Miranda-on-Omega screenshot....where is it....ah, here:

Thinking of doing another ME2 playthrough (because hey, why not?), just trying to figure out the end game for my 10th playthrough. Thinking of going for a Spacer (only got 1 of those, even if it is my favourite!) / Ruthless (got plenty of War Heroes as it's my favourite, but I can't wrap my head around the Sole Survivor background).

Suggestions anyone?

Funny....I like the Sole Survivor background best, so much that all of my maleSheps but one have it. Colonist/Ruthless is another interesting combination. Spacer/Ruthless is....strange. I wouldn't ever think of pairing these, but it's your game.

The only problem with Sole Survivors is that they're bound to be skeptical of, if not hostile to, Cerberus, and Miranda's romance thus presents a unique challenge.

If you've played mostly War Heroes so far and can't wrap your mind around Spacer/Sole Survivor, I recommend Colonist/Ruthless or Earthborn/Ruthless for a contrast.

Obviously War hero is for paragon, Sole survivor is for a neutral run, and the base hit, (was it called ruthless?) is for renegade. And each give points for their respective path. (sole survivor giving no points.) but what might be interesting, is going the ruthless/base attack path but play a paragon shep. Or a war hero and go renegade. Sole survivor gives no rengade or paragon points, but leaves your pysche most open to interpretation I feel.

As far as spacer, colonist, earthborn. I usually go either space or colonist just cause they seem more interesting than being from earth. Try to empathize or w/e.. where would you have wanted to live if you were in the ME universe?

That's incorrect. Origins give points, too (Earthborn=Renegade, Colonist=balanced, Spacer=Paragon), and Sole Survivor gives a balanced amount of P/R points. Also, the backgrounds "Ruthless" and "War Hero" remove all points of the opposing path your origin story would have given you. If you choose "Ruthless", you get no Paragon points, even if you selected a Spacer background etc.. At least in ME1 it works that way. No idea how things work when you make a new character in ME2. I never do.

Why wouldn't you want to from the center of human culture? The Spacer background is interesting, but I certainly wouldn't want to be the ME universe's equivalent of a country bumpkin (Colonist).

Since we're in the Miranda thread, you might also ask which origin and background gives you extra aspects for connecting with her. Earthborn might be an interesting contrast to Miranda, even if she's from Earth, too.

For the first part, wow no idea it worked that way haha. Nice to know. yeah this has gotten somewhat off topic, but a side note I like the little sub community here more than most other niches. So I dont mind the off topic every once in awhile.

I don't like going with earth just cause I like the idea of the other two options more.  I guess I feel like I already know people now lol; so it makes earth less appealing. I don't remember the context to being earthborn but I do remember getting the general feeling that it defined your personality a bit more- something about hanging with the wrong crowd or something? Here:

You were born on Earth, but you never knew your parents. A child of the streets, you learned to live by your wits and guts, surviving in the hidden underbelly of the megatropolises of humanity's homeworld.

yeah that description makes me feel like mouse or something from ME2, a street rat I guess.  didnt like the feel of it.  Defined me too much for my tastes.  spacer is interesting.  colonist was cool cause I felt like I could mostly envision what he might encounter there. Or what life might be like.  As if your shep would understand the universe better because your awareness growing up as a colonist- would be more; than the other two options. You know how grim things can be- and would be... less idealistic?

Ok so I have no idea why I feel the way I do.  However as far as miranda.  I think you can look at your experiences growing up,  as either a way your shep would connect with miranda, or just be similiar through experiences as in same views on people, the universe, life experiences ect ect.... And  I think any of the three would work.  Both earthborn and colonist I could see shaping your worldview to be more in line with miri's.  The spacer would probably be able to relate more on the level of never really having a home and extensive travel.  (Im sure once she joined cerberus at a young age she immediately began traveling for various missions, and home may have a similiar meaning to a spacer shep.)

These are almost incoherent ramblings. So a picture

I've tried most combinations - my current list goes like this:

A'den - Spacer War Hero, Vanguard - Kept Council, destroyed base, kept Legion, Jack dead, saved Rachni
Atin - Earthborn War Hero, Vanguard - Killed Council, kept base, kept Legion, saved Rachni
Cabur(ME2 starter, no Genesis) Colonist War Hero, Sentinel - Killed Council, destroyed base, kept Legion, Jack dead, no Rachni, no Wrex.
Gotab - Earthborn Ruthless, Engineer- Kept Council, destroyed base, kept Legion, Jack dead, saved Rachni
Kom'rk - Earthborn War Hero, Soldier/Revenant - Kept Council, destroyed base, kept Legion, Jack dead, saved Rachni
Buruk - Earthborn War Hero, Soldier/Widow - Kept Council, kept base, kept Legion, saved Rachni
Prudii - Colonist Ruthless, Infiltrator - Killed Council, kept base, no Legion, no Rachni
Werda - Colonist Ruthless, Infiltrator - Killed Council, destroyed base, kept Legion, no Rachni
Ruusaan - Earthborn Sole Survivor, Adept- Kept Council, destroyed base, kept Legion, saved Rachni

Given that lot (who are all imports of one flavour or another, bar Cabur), it's more story decisions I'm curious about. I find it ridiculously hard not to fully upgrade the Normandy, or make sensible choices come the 'Suicide' Mission. It goes without saying that Miranda will be a bit of a fixture...

With that many playthroughs looks like your getting close to having everything by process of elimination. sounds like you should do spacer/sole survivor

Matt is Colonist/Sole Survivor. He and I both try to ignore the Cerberus connection as much as possible. I wanted something that wasn't badass and a balanced P/R. Lawrence is Spacer/Ruthless. He's not a sociopath. His universe just sucks that much. He doesn't have persuasive abilities, but he's a fantastic killer.

Just wanted to point out how awesome both of these are. I especially love how her abs look in the second one.<3

In terms of backgrounds on Shepard, it depends on how you play, whether you go through the motions or if you seriously role play. So far there hasn't been too much content in ME1 and none in ME2 to point to your background. Personally I'm drawn to dark and/or troubled characters and as a result I only have one Shepard as a Spacer War Hero. The others are a combination of Eathborn, Colonist, Ruthless, and Sole Survivor.
