LOL, then don't die. What class are you playing?

Vanguard, Level 30. Always a Vanguard. The only problem is that I don't have upgrades anymore, cuz of New Game +.

And I skipped Veteran and Hardcore.

Do you have the Cerberus or DLC equipment?

Yeah. I have the Aegis pack, Firepower Pack.

What's your build? And what was your bonus weapon from the Collector Ship? Take me off your block list and I'll help you get that achievement if you want.

Screw Insanity. I tried to do it, but it got on my nerves. And I don't even want to know how bad the Scions are on Insanity. I want to have fun, not play to get frustrated.

Hence why I stick to Casual.

When playing on Insanity, Is it wise to leave one one your squadmates with Garrus?

I'm sort of getting the feeling that a lot of Miranda's story is going to be tied into the Cerberus arc. Other than TIM she's really the player's connection to Cerberus in ME2.

I've always left somebody behind with Garrus. I'm so awful at shooting that I need to buy myself as much time as I can.

I think that when I do my canon run, I may get Grunt first. I've never tried it that way (always gone to Omega first) and I want to try out Grunt more.

I think probably the only benefit you might get by completely an insanity run outside of the achievement for it, is access to insanity run on your first playthrough in ME3, and if it isnt your thing- it isnt you thing.  I usually play on veteran. Its enough that if ya make a mistake youll probably die over it; but its not annoying like hardcore or insanity.  Which btw only gets really frustrating during horizon and the collector ship. ie key moments.  Sprinkle in more dying during the regular missions and bam, they shouldve just called it frustrating rather than insanity ha.

The scions made me change the difficulty the first time I tried a playthrough on insanity, that's how bad they are.

Mordin is easily on the top 5 of my favorite characters in the entire Mass Effect universe.
The genophage was a necessary evil at the time. However, I feel that the Rebellions were as much the salarians's fault as the krogan's and, once it was over, there should have been a real effort on the part of the council races to influence the krogan culture with the purpose of making their existence alongside the other species a possibility. Instead, they washed their hands off the issue, condemning the krogan to a slow extinction. This lead to the continued need for the genophage until the krogans are gone.
However, with Wrex keeping the clans in line and leading them towards a better future, I believe it is time to start thinking about, if not curing it, at least reducing the severity of the genophage.

Pretty much summed up my thoughts way more concise then I couldve said it.  All my games have wrex and the general feel I get for it, is that the need for a genophage is dwindling. Wrex is a visionary.  but this does lead me to wonder what your other top four characters are in the ME universe?

Scions for me were not THAT bad on insanity. They were annoying, but once you take out the rest of the enemies around them, they go down pretty quick. I would use triple warps with miranda and thane, or use reave as bonus power.

Top 5

Jack
Miranda
Mordin
Ashley
Wrex

As for the genophage, in some way I think Mordin was justified for fear of a Krogan threat. I think Miranda would also approve of what he did, and if given the opportunity would've love to be able to add it to her resume. That being said Mordin has the benefit of having done something like this and still be likeable because his story has such a fantastic setting. Were this a story only about humans, I think forced sterilization would make him instantly unlikeable.

Scions and Praetorians *shivers*

I miss the husks from ME1 whose biggest problem was their electrical charge. In ME2 they're a serious pain to kill.

I love several of the characters in the ME universe and usually for different reasons.

Image IPB

Miranda: Miri made a huge impact on me during the project Lazuras escape.  I loved her cold, competent persona.  I was instantly drawn right in.  It gave cerberus a kind of personality, a credibility with someone like miri backing it.  Pieces of her came together after jacob and her LM, as well as conversations throughout the mass effect 2 game. She's the first and probably only LI that I feel is sheps equal.  And I love that. a lot.

Wrex and by extension the Krogan.  I loved him in ME1, he was pretty straight forward and didnt pull any punches. The confrontation made me respect Wrex more, he knew what was at stake, but to see Krogan and the genophage cured he set aside his merc attitude and stepped up to defend the Krogan mantle.  that continued into Me2 where he becomes a visionary and through krogan ideals, like strength, begins consildating the other krogan clans. Epic

Legion: He blew me away and I didnt see him coming. his conversations were utterly fascinating, and made me think about the idea of evolution; the conflict between the quarians and the geth and I just want more.  I love how the Geth operate, though they do seem to feel their end lies in becoming a reaper of sorts, themselves. Minus the "reaping" aspect, or so I hope.

Garrus: his path so far has made sense, he was so frustrated with C-Sec, it made sense that he ended up in omega.  Im hoping between my influence with Dr heart and Sidonis, he evolves past his flaws from the first two games, I hope he becomes a spectre- but more in line with my shep (paragon) ideals, then say- a saren esq spectre. for the sake of his overall well being I guess.

Mordin.  The moral ambiguity of miri, and the creativity of Legion I love his character. Though Ive tried to avoid leaks and what not, I think I see where his character is going in Me3. and im happy.  By extension, the salarians, I love their species.  Its fascinating to contemplate how their short life spans contribute to their mentality.

Tali and by extension the quarians. I won't say too much about tali her as this is a miri thread, but Ill admit Im having a really hard time deciding on either her or miri for my main canon.  I love the quarians and their past, and feel they are a truly unique race.

Other noteables, Jack- I get her. And like her after several conversations. Samara, Love her hardcore, her ideals and black and white extreme value trotting persona is just damn sexy.  Kaiden, jacob, are well adjusted bros in battle.  Thane is interesting mainly because of the drell, well him too actually. grunt, love his story.  Liara is- decent. Ashley is probably my least favorite.  I think in large part the romance is really thrown on you by just being friendly to her and having a conversation. So by time she was citing me poetry, i was thinking, WOAH, hold on a sec. Im not that into you, keep that crap to yourself.

A lot of the same views as me.

Except maybe Tali. I don't hate her or anything, but she contributes very little to either game so far, apart from providing intel of Saren in ME1. Other than that, she acts like a walking quarian encyclopedia.

The same can be said for Garrus, but he provides backstory for himself, unlike Tali.

My top 5 squadmates-

1. Miranda
2. Garrus
3. Ashley
4. Legion
5. Wrex/Grunt or Mordin (tie)

What has me worried is that we're pinning a lot of our hope on what we're not seeing. That's happened before, and it didn't end well for me.

Indeed. The question is how much more there is. If the one missing scene we absolutely know will be there is basically all we get (excepting the little snippet here or there), that's going to disappoint greatly.

Part of me is optimistic that there may at least an extra scene or 2.

Just an odd feeling.

That's the feeling I had until the leak. Now, the evidence points the other way. As jtav said, at some point putting our hopes into what's missing becomes indistinguishable from wishful thinking. The problem is we don't know if we're past that point.

If you don't mind a recommendation: play an Insanity game with a regular imported Shepard, not NG+. NG+ Insanity is significantly more difficult. I've played on Insanity with a Soldier, an Engineer and an Infiltrator, and the only problem with being basically unable to win was with the Engineer and Infiltrator in the Quarian Crash Site mission.

You also selected the most difficult class for Insanity. Vanguard NG+ Insanity must be about the ultimate ME2 difficulty.

Before I joined BSN and the spoiler/support groups/thread regarding her, I previously thought Miranda would have been a squadmate, regarding her ties to Cerberus, who is of course now a major antagonistic faction, with her personal missions involving her father at Sanctuary.

As much as I hate putting so much faith into something we have literally no information about, I think BioWare can pull it off.

I'm definitely putting my hopes into the sizeable part that's missing as otherwise Miranda's role is devastatingly poor. As a pessimist i realise those hopes are likely to be dashed though.
