Man, I emphatically disagree. "Hoping" is the type of complacency and inaction that got us in this position. Too little too late. And Miranda not being present during the TIM confrontation is bull****. Accepting that is like coming to terms with defeat. I'm sorry, I'm not the type escpecially when the leaders of our little group barely fought.

I'm going kicking and screaming an cussing despite the little good it will do.

While I sympathize with your point (I think it's highly disappointing she is not present for the Illusive Man confrontation), I feel you could have worded it differently.

Why I didn't insult anyone. I didn't pull any punches either. It our fault. All our faults. I propsed that we at least be adamant and active as other fanbases. Everybody was all like "calm down, wait till E3". E3 rolled around "people were like calm down, you're wrong watch".

I was right. Despite all the insults and harassment they get, at least the Talimancers know how to get **** done.

You're giving fans entirely too much credit.

.... Not really....

I just kinda wish developers were more open to fan input. That isn't to say that they aren't, I just wish they were more so.

Including BioWare, all the devs really say to fans is just "We're listening", without actually saying what it is they are taking in.

That isn't interaction, that's just damage mitigation.

My issue is that we have next to no information about the game. I get the whole "we don't want to spoil any story elements" thing, but right now there's so much speculation that I'm losing interest in the game.

All it's doing to me is making me worried and anxious.

And somewhat sad.

Out of all the female characters I can think of, she definitely has the biggest role (Apart from Liara), and is one of the most important.

She is absolutely the lead of ME2. Series as a whole? Liara.

Though you lot are doing a wonderful job in giving me the wherewithal to kill Miranda.

I understand all your complaints about Miranda's lack of interection with the main storyline, which was clearly caused by the possibility of death during the SM.. but.. I really cant get frustrated at the situation.. just knowing that my Shep will at least have Miranda in his arms before shooting some reapers and saving the galaxy makes me really excited to play the game..  then again, I know that her influence to the main events, as well as her involvement with the cerberus arc are just as important (if not more) than the romance.. but these issues are not enough to make me sad.. If I can keep her alive, safe.. and in love with Shep.. that will already put a smile on my face Image IPB

P.S. I know most of you are going to hate me.. I do worry about her character development.. Its just that my shep completely fell in love with her.. he doenst care if she will help him against cerberus anymore, he just wants to kiss her Image IPB  oh.. and sorry for my english..

I think I'd probably have been happier if she wasn't a LI. She'd probably have an arc analogous to Mordin's, except with Cerberus. The romance and her personal issues take up way too much space.

Then she wouldn't have been in a lead role.

Seems like some people only enjoy the romance simulation. And that's fine, but it's only one facet of a greater whole that I appreciate. When only one side of the character gets the limelight soley to appease fans "like us" I find it damn near insulting.

In the leak. Though it's an interesting thought experiment to consider how I'd have liked a less prominent, harder Miranda.

Somewhat, this.

While I'll cherish the opportunity to see and interact with Miranda on an emotionally deeper level than ME2 (Hey, it's 50% of what I wanted), I just don't feel that there's ENOUGH (The other 50% that's missing)

Is it a crime to appreciate the character, but highlight their favorite aspect?

I wasn't speaking to the poster rather of the developers and their narrow and incomplete depiction of a complex character.

Because you need people to get the job done and won't second guess everytime you shoot someone

I pretty much used:
Miranda
Grunt
Zaeed
Garrus

on various quests.
I did take Jack out sometimes. :D

When it takes over the character to a point where even people who like romance wish BW would do a AAA game without it and leave shipping for fanfic? Yes. The romance is 6-7 minutes long!

I'm not sure if it was intentional, but Miranda is easily the most useful ally to keep in the field. Warp + Overload takes out all 3 enemy defenses, and if you equip her with the Carnifex + Tempest, she can mow down small armies. I take her everywhere for precisely this reason (Of course it's also because I adore her).

The other teammate was... Eh... "Who hasn't tagged along in a while?"

I agree with jtav, we both already discussed about this .
She set the tone of ME2 in more than one way ( main NPC/second main character, most used squadmate, most chosen LI ) .
Since BW probably wanted to change the tone of their next game, she couldn't have the same
role in ME3 .
It was either sideline her completely or her being the hero of her own journey .

Im way back in the thread and playing ketchup! Image IPB

I agree with this completely.  Finding out she wasnt a squadmate after how much I felt "directed" toward her irked me for a long time.  But now that Ive reflected a bit, theres no way her role couldve been anything similiar to what it was in ME2, her personality and strength of character, are too much.  You'd have to do some serious diversion of saving the galaxy for shep and miri to take center stage- if your staying true to her character.  And I bet, (im a optimist) they will stay true to her character and the only option was giving her- her own path.

As far as why tali and garris are squadmates again, I think they really did this in large part from ME2, I think they wanted to give the player a chance to have squadmates throughout the series. Tali and garris, just work that way.  bringing in a LI from Me1, wouldve really cut down the chance to explore the other options from Me2.  With wrex I think they stayed true to his character development, he grew in Me1 and the seeds of the krogan future were sewn- and can be seen in ME2 with what hes doing on tuchanka (sp?)  So those are just some thoughts.

now a very dumb question, Ive seen the reference VS, more times then I can count and I really cant figure out who this is, I keep drawing a blank, any help?
